We were checking out of SSR on Friday and heading over to POFQ for a brief two night stay.
We have never stayed at Port Orleans before...
This was awaiting us...
It was o.k. I loved the theme of the resort, but I have become so spoiled by the DVC rooms that I was glad it was only 2 nights. I am a Disney Resort Snob.
I admit it.
We were both a little hungry, so we headed down to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.
Breakfast had just finished, so we were "stuck" with lunch. Nelson and I both ordered the steak sandwich...
This was my sandwich.... his looked exactly the same with the exception of his having onions and peppers on it... yuck!
Dessert was yummy:
We went back to our room and did very little unpacking. Not worth unpacking for only two nights.
Then off to the Magic Kingdom!
I honestly dont know what we did in MK that day... I think we went on the Haunted Mansion and walked around enjoying just being THERE
Around 3p.m., we were both feeling a little hungry and knowing that we had 8p.m. dinner reservations decided to get "lunch"...
We went here:
I love this place! We had never ever even knew it existed until we went there last year for lunch during our Keys to the Kingdom tour. There is always a table available and if you grab a window seat upstairs... AWESOME people watching spot!
We both ordered one of these:
The Anchors Aweigh Tuna sandwich... I am not the biggest tuna salad fan because I usually find it too mayonais-ey, but this is as close to perfect as it is gonna get!
I think we sat there for an hour just eating slowly (
DDP stomach overload was setting in) and watching people out the window.
We decided to head in the direction of the exit and just see where our feet took us.
They took us to the Hall of Presidents!
I tried to get some pictures of the inside but there are random heads in all of them....
I know I wasn't supposed to (and Nelson the straight arrow got mad at me for it) but I did take a picture of this:
I didn't use my flash, so dont get on my case about it...
I wanted to head back to the room to change. I know there is not a dress code at Coral Reef in Epcot but I wanted to look halfway decent...
So at 8:35, we were here:
We were seated at the tables immediately on the side of the aquarium glass.
The sad thing was that I was not hungry at all...
As much as I planned our ADR's and such, we didnt make very good use of the DDP in that we paid for some meals OOP thinking that they were a waste of credits, then were stuck with these counter credits at the end... better planning is needed next time...
I ordered this:
Grilled New York Strip Steak with Roasted potatos and various green things.
I cannot order fish while their cousins are swimming on the side of me. The two bites of it that I ate were very yummy.
Nelson had this:
Grilled Mahi Mahi...
poor Flipper....
I found out from the waitress at Coral Reef that the non alcoholic drinks listed at the beginning of the drink menu are included in the DDP (just no refills)... I am glad they told me on my last night of DDP...
Anywhooo... I had this:
It was tres yummy!
I didn't get to see the Sea Turtle and was majorly bummed... but these two guys scared the *insert word of choice here* out of me:
I was not paying attention to the aquarium then just happened to look quickly and said kinda loudly "HOLY CRAP", when I realized how loud I was I just started giggling uncontrollably.... I am lucky holy crap is what came out of my mouth...
Up next: Independence Day!
