What are you brand loyal on?

Heinz Ketchup
Hellman's mayo
Nestle Chocolate Chips or Hershey's chocolate chips
All laundry detergent

Oh, forgot
Kellogg's Rice Krispies
Kellogg's Fruit Loops
Poptarts
Hostess Twinkies or cupcakes

I never realized how "brand specific" I was until I saw this thread. For me it's:

JIF peanut butter
Kraft cheese slices
Miracle Whip
Suave Shampoo (DS)
Prego pasta sauce
Coke Products
Arm & Hammer laundry detergent
Kleenex tissues
Ball Park hot dogs

I forgot my dish soap stuff, only dawn. In a pinch if something else is free I will use it but don't like it! For the dishwasher it's electrasol or cascade only, I prefer electrasol tablets though. Thankfully that's something I can always get cheap!

Dh will only use a-1 steak sauce and quaker oatmeal.

I don't care what brand they are as far as name brands go for detergent or feminine products but I will not use store brands of those things. Or off brands like xtra. Of the name brands I get whatever is free or cheapeest.

I thought I had to have Heinz catsup but when I tried our store brand, I loved it more!

barbeque sauce must be brand name for me

Dawn Dishsoap
JIF peanut butter

I have noticed the change that Wal Mart is making to their store brand packaging, and it is truly looking like the generics of years gone by. It won't stop me from buying. It must be cheaper to get it manufactured, fewer colors.

i forgot the dish soap too....i always buy dawn, preferably the green apple. and all free and clear laundry detergent-i have very sensitive skin. for pop tarts, i get the wal-mart brand. if DD has noticed a difference, she hasn't mentioned it. the only ones that didn't work were the aldi's brand pop tarts. they were all stuck together.

I use mostly generics, but DH complains if I don't get his Wonder Bread and Nathan's Hotdogs.

I noticed this as well... and thought the same thing... but have you seen Target's brand change? I don't know who changed first, but both changed names and both have the stark white packaging with crisp, bright images of the product.

Kraft Cheese
Kraft Dressing

and I wasted lots of money on cheap candles now I only buy Yankee

we only do All Free and Clear laundry soap but that is because everything else makes my oldest daughte break out I'd do generic if it wasn't for that

For me it is

-Kraft american cheese
-Purex laundry products (I have allergies to other ones and the Purex seems to work best)
-Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
-Hellman's
-Coke
-Lipton Tea Bags
-Aquafresh Toothpaste
-Suave Body Wash
-Doritos

First of all... thanks to all who are loyal to Heinz Ketchup! DH doesn't work for them, but your loyalty is keeping my DH employed right now!

Here are mine:
heinz ketchup
skippy (I am a 'creamy' gal, DH is a 'chunky' guy :rotfl2:)
hellmans mayo
tide detergent
biolage shampoo for myself
bounty paper towels (about to reconsider- I swear the rolls are getting smaller and smaller)
cottonelle t.p.
dunkin donuts coffee
yopliat yogurt (DH)
pampers- everything from swaddlers to underjams.
edys ice cream (another one upsetting me over the smaller size, but I keep buying it....)

Since my teens I was loyal to Tampax but the prices are through the roof, so I finally tried Target's generic and will now buy whatever is on sale

Mom2micayla, I used to be the same way until I tried Target Brand toilet paper (comparable to the Quilted Northern brand). They also have one comparable to Charmin. Its worth a shot if you are willing to try it.

Great thread! I am always playing around with things because it could save a few dollars here and there! What we tend to stick to:

--Home Pride bread--love the flavor, stays good for so long
--Simply Orange (though our local grocery store came out with a comparable so I will have to get DH to try it--I don't drink the stuff)
--Stayfree girlie products
--really prefer Del Monte canned fruit but the local grocery's store is not bad--some are down right gross!
--Puffs tissues
--Bath and Body works hand sanitizer (most of the others fry my hands)
--Eucerin lotion--DH and DD have skin issues so it keeps their skin from flaring too badly

We use an all natural and organic line for cleaning products for most everything which we really prefer. It lasts for so long so the cost is no more than other brands.

That's about it. I am willing to at least try store brands unlike my sister who does not!

You all are killing me with the Heinz ketchup! My husband works for ConAgra Foods, which makes Hunts. Used to only be Heinz, until we started buying only ConAgra products (gotta help the bonus!). Now, I can't tell the difference. I think it has really gotten better. So we are loyal to ConAgra products..

Healthy Choice everything
Hunts tomatoes, ketchup
Pam Spray
Peter Pan peanut butter
Orville Redenbacher popcorn...
Hebrew National Hotdogs

the only other thing I would say is Stretch Tite saran wrap. Would pay $20 a box...it's THAT good!!

Heinz ketchup
Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
Diet Coke
Kraft Mac n Cheese
Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn
Duke's Mayonnaise
Ball Park Beef hot dogs
Jif Xtra crunchy PB

Many, many years ago in a college marketing class, the professor said that cigarette smokers are the most brand loyal customers. Seems that now that there are many less smokers, the most loyal customers are ketchup buyers!

Dawn Dishsoap
JIF peanut butter

Totally agree with you on the packaging. And honestly, I am as thrifty as they come, but I just can't bring myself to buy the stuff with their new packaging!!

For me it's COKE. If we're at a restaurant and they serve Pepsi or RC products, it's water for me. ;)

I used to be loyal to Heinz ketchup but in a pinch, I picked up some ketchup at Aldi and I have to say that it tastes just like Heinz. I know that their products are made by major companies and I'm willing to bet that Heinz makes the ketchup and Aldi labels it.
