Wow, you are doing it all at once! I've never smoked so I can't speak from personal experience but both my parents smoked (mom still does) and DH smoked up until 10 years ago. I saw them struggle with it and how hard it was for them to quit. Best of luck to keep that habit kicked.

I'll take all the workout buddies I can get. Like I suggested to Holly, maybe we can PM each other with motivation and what we did for the last few days, ect. Unless someone has a better idea, I'm open to them all.

We have a Wii Fit too. I used to use it all the time and the batteries died and we just never replaced them. However, the remotes get their batteries replaced the minuted they go out :lmao:. Anyway, do you have the new WiiFit game. I think maybe it's called advanced? I got mine in Dec 08 so it has the first game that came with it.
Yes I got the wii fit plus. It has step aerobics that are more like dancing. Or you can do regular step aerobics and then watch tv at the same time so that makes it easy. I usually do it at my lunch and burn about 200 calories in half an hour. It weighs you so you can check your progress or regress as i have occassionally done LOl

that darn Houston weatherman promised sunshine today and it's cold, grey & dreary:sad2::sad2: at least we're not in Atlanta with snow!! sunshine promised for Saturday -- my family is doing the Disney "give a day. get a disney day!" tomorrow at the Goodwill store in our neighborhood -- we are going to WDW for a couple days over spring break next month.

Has anyone else participated in this year's promotion "give a day. get a disney day"??

I'm hoping he's right for tomorrow! I need some :sunny:sun:sunny:!!!

No, we haven't signed up for the promotion. We aren't going to be able to make it to FL or CA this year. If we could use the tickets in Jan, I would sign us up. Best of luck for good weather for y'all tomorrow.

i want to lose enough to look nice in a formal dress lol! I have always been heavy my whole life so any weight loss is good for me. I will join in the motivation. this should be my 10th post so now i can send pm's! LOL

Well, those formals can serve for great motivation :thumbsup2! Last year prior to our cruise, I found a gorgeous red gown at Dillards on clearance but they had just one size, the size smaller than me. I could zip it, but it was tight and hard to zip. I bought it anyway and was determined to be able to wear it without worrying about the zipper popping open during dinner. Well, I tried it one about every few weeks and the last time I tried it on, it fit like a glove and zipped up so smoothly. I was so happy!

Well, I know I can upgrade for like $20 so I might go ahead and do that. 200 calories for half an hour is great. Keep it up!!!! It's neat that it shows calories burned. The older one doesn't do that.

Thank you both! Maybe someday I can do something like Tami but I need a lot of practice before I even attempt it. Don't know if making one or two cakes a year can get me there.

I used a marshmallow fondant recipe that I found on wilton.com. It's made with melted marshmallows and powdered sugar and tastes very good but of course is very sweet. I don't know how the texture and consistency compare with regular fondant because I've never used it. When I was first trying to learn how to use it I spent a bit of time on the wilton boards. A few of the ladies that are very good and do very detailed cakes like Tami said that they like to use the marshmallow fondant. So, if you want a good tasting fondant, may be something to try. :goodvibes
Your making me hungry:confused::confused:
You think we're going to see any sun in Houston this weekend? We had that little tease a couple of weeks ago with nice weather and I'm ready for it again!

A couple of friends of mine convinced me to join this 6 week bootcamp thing with them. It's held at 7:30 on Saturday morning and I am not looking forward to it tomorrow morning. It was cold like this a couple of weeks ago and my hands were hurting so bad by the time we were done. Even though I had gloves on, I couldn't feel them but yet they hurt. I think I'd rather hit the gym!

Speaking of the gym, anyone want an online workout buddy? I've had a really hard time staying motivated. I know they have the WISH group but thought that maybe if someone else is working toward a goal/maintaining, we could "work" together to keep each other motivated :thumbsup2 Maintaining is just as hard as to getting toward that goal sometimes.
yip me, Im a fittness nut these days, I went to the spinning, gym and ran around deck 4 at 5-6 am every moring, I am sure some ine must have watched me on cctv, thinking "NUTTER"

I used to be nearly 20 stone, ehh, lost a few and found excercise:cool1:
Will post before and after pics if you want motovation.
I also ran a marathon and 6 halfs since.
We drove from England into Scotland and then stayed in Edinburgh yes. A fabulous bed and breakfast. Fell in love with the orange soda you have that a local told us to try.

LOL, Iron Bru. Thats why the glagow folks call "joose" "soda" ginger.
I will make you a promise right now to bring you some of our nations fav tipple for when we cruise.

Would love to see pics! And as far as 20 stone, gonna have to look that one up. Not sure how that compares to pounds.

Congrats on the marathon and halves! WTG!!!! Never been into running. Maybe need to try it!

We're going to try to hit the fitness center this time around on the cruise. We had planned on it but it was our first cruise and we were having such a great time exploring the ship, ect. What time do they open up in the morning?

That's a great idea! We did lanyards on our Dec cruise meet but so many people ended up wearing their Castaway Club or DVC ones. Since there are a lot of returning cruisers and/or DVCer's, the bracelets would be a great alternative to customized lanyards.

I love the lanyard idea too!! Anything custom and DIS is very appealing to me! Are we going to be ordering logo t-shirts too?

My birthday is March 1 and we are having dinner at Yahtsmans steakhouse. I love it there, they have the best creamed spinich.

I love the Yachtsman and their creamed spinach as well! It has been our tradition on every trip to WDW to of course stay at the Yacht Club and on our last night we always do Illuminations and dinner at the Yachtsman...sad it is our last night but nice to have such a long tradition and of course a great meal.

I think a "stone" is about 14 pounds.

Count on me as a workout buddy! Last year, I lost 45 pounds. I'd like to do the same this year, although it will probably be more difficult than the first 45. I awaken early, so it's off to the gym first thing - it keeps me out of trouble, lol, and i'm home to start the day by the time dh is ready for breakfast. I try to do at least 200 minutes per week.

Tomorrow morning, if someone else hasn't already started the new thread, I will do it.

I will be your buddy! I got myself a Wii fit right after christmas, best thing I have done. It doesn't feel like you are really working out! I just quit smoking too so juggling multiple things that I need to stay motivated on! LOL

I would like the buddy thing to be it's own thread, so we can motivate each other better.

I've been blessed with a home step routine that I do three days a week.

Lent starts next week and I'm giving the cigs the heave ho. I've already trained myself not to smoke anywhere but on my patio. I never carry them with me, so if were out for eight hours I do without. I'm hoping this will help me having broken it down to increments.

I smoked on our veranda on our last cruise, and I irritated the people next to us. I found this out when I read their trip report. I felt terrible.

I would also like to be invovled in the "excercise motivation project" LOL. I've started excercising this week. I'm doing the treadmill 3 times a week for the first couple of weeks and then I plan on doing more after. I would like to lose a few pounds also. I haven't had any sugar for two weeks now, I'm hoping that's a start. Maybe we could have a thread on this!
I also have the Wii Fit and we just got the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas. I should get busy on that too.

Good luck Katherine and Tiggrlady on quiting smoking! :thumbsup2
