Hey i'm a BIG magic fan...

i did my first magic show at 5 years old and magic was pretty much my whole life till i was 18, i read every book i could find and was doing kids parties most weekends. At 18 i got a job doing magic professionally at a holiday centre. After working there for a whole season doing Magic every waking minute i took a break from magic, and really got into Disney.

I guess i went as far as i ever wanted to with magic and Disney became my new passion. I still dabble in magic and many of my friends now have young children so i'm now doing the odd show again.

Still think one day i may start up doing magic again, but i'm a real ideas guy and at any one time i can have 6 or 7 different projects i'm working on so i never quite know what the future's going to bring. Maybe Gus and I should get together and do an onboard magic class, to help convert some of these non believers

That would be fun!!!

Well, they're only 36 hours old at this point and I was able to get them away from mom for a quick photo shoot. Mom said unequivocally and emphatically "NO" to having her picture taken as her hair hadn't been done for days and she did not want to be seen in public looking looking like a dirty mop!

Lovely! Bet you have your hands full there!

Thanks! My chest feels like its been ripped apart today thanks to coughing most of the night. Just wish it would clear up now!

Take care and feel better soon x

Hi everyone!! Well I am officially "back" on this cruise. :cool1: Thanks to a little nudge by Todd, I have re-booked. We are in a Cat 11 GTY of which I am not thrilled about since I have always been in a Cat 5...but as Laura said, at least I am on the ship! I guess it will just force me to be out and about more instead of sitting on my balcony!

I have not kept up with all your planning and hope that I can catch up. Not sure at this point when we will be arriving, but may need suggestions on where to stay in Barcelona. I have family and friends in England, may go see them before going to Barcelona. Just not real sure yet. I did the WBTA in 2007 and missed my flight from JFK to Barcelona, so I would really like to arrive early and see the sights in Barcelona that I missed last time.

How do I go about getting on the lanyard list? I didnt notice any place to sign up on the website.....did I over look it? :confused3

Any information on what everyone is doing will help so that I dont spend days re-reading the last 1 1/2yrs of posts!! :rotfl:

I am really excited and looking forward to cruising with all my old friends and making new friends!!

It will be myself (Pam) and DH (Mike).....he has never been to Europe so this will be a new experience for him. In 2007 I flew over solo!!

Hi & welcome from someone else valiantly trying to catch up with so many hundreds of posts!:thumbsup2

We just learned how to play Apples to Apples. Lots of fun.

That's Mark's favourite game Heather :)

Got the hotel booked now (thanks for all the info Sarah), so staying at the Marriott Renaissance...like many others I think:cool1:

Getting way too excited already......hmmmmmm.....what else can I sort out?.....:rolleyes1

When I had my bad cough last time I used Covonia Night Time which has a natural something in to aid getting off to sleep. I also have Tylenol PM from the US which has something similar and works. I am sure saw Panadol PM or something similar in Boots though.

Oh will have to have a look tomorrow for some! Thanks!

Hi Pam welcome back! Post 7 has loads of info on it as to whats been planned. The lanyard list closed on Friday though.

No names yet.....trying to think of something appropriate for the day (Apr 16) or I may use the previous day, Tax Day, and use:
1 - Another Deduction (and call her Penny)
2 - The Bottom Line (and call her Refund)
3 - The Taxman Cometh (and call him Beelzebub)

Whatcha all think?

lol! I love these although I think Another Deduction should be called Deedee just cause its cute lol! Very cool names though! Is Beezelbub from Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy?

I've still not booked my Barcelona hotel, i'm one of those people arriving late the night before.

A friend of mine, who is a frequent visitor there, has assured me though that things really don't get going in Barcelona till later at night. So it's not unusual to go out for dinner at 10.30 at night.

So my plan is to get to the city late check in then go out for a look around. Next day we've got just a few hours to look around in the city before getting onboard.

really will be a wirlwind visit, but guess i've got plenty of time on the cruise to kick back and relax.

Well, you and Gus will have a lot in common then!!! Yay! Gus claims that saying you hate magic is like saying you hate music. Maybe you just haven't heard the right song yet!!! ;)

You guys will definitly have to get together!!

Speaking from experience, ferrets are super naughty. They get into everything and are somewhat destructive. They are bad little Stitch pets, but so cute. IMHO they are nice to visit.

We have chinchillas, too. They are super cute and easy to care for. A little skittish, but super soft and easy to train. They live a long time. The only drawback for us is their copious poops (herbivores that eat a lot of hay). They are dry little pellets (like rats) but wow they poop a lot. Their cages don't smell and very few people are allergic to them (but their hay can be a problem). I am allergic to dogs and cats, and rats and ferrets, but the chins only give me a mild reaction.

(We have a dog, cat, 2 chinchillas, a ferret and goldfish. DH dislikes pets. :rotfl:)

See I knew there was a reason I liked them! I love STITCH! Mind you a full time stitch?????

Chinchillas look lush but I heard they can be scared easily especially loud noises and have an other half who is learning to play the drums!

It's interesting to see the GTY cabins slowly get assigned. We are in a GTY11 but as per their website this morning we are still GTY. We just really want a 7th deck cabin, or a deck 6 near the elevators (are their even cat 11s there?) don't care about much else room-wise.

Im in 6083 which is central Cat 11 on deck 6 so I hope so lol!

Thanks Mandy.

Oh and so happy I get to play the "guess the people on the cruise" at breakfast again! It was so much fun last time! We got about 2 couples! None were disers!

Lanyards, see post 3552!!

There are a whole load of boozy tastings going on. I presume the info is on the 1st page.

lol, just managed to sign up for the lanyards in time Maz!:thumbsup2 Boozy tastings? mmmmmmmmm........:cool1:

For those of you going onto WDW after the cruise how are you planning to get there??

Are you going by Disney transport?

I only ask because on a recent Unplugged Podcast they talked about the option of hiring a town car...

Seems that some towncar companies are charging around $240 for a limo from port to WDW based on 6 sharing thats $40.

A town car for 4 is $135 that's $33.75 per person based on 4 sharing.

How does this compare to Disney tranfer prices?

Has anyone done this? How does it comare to Disney Transfers?

I don't think your drum-learner has anything on my 3 kids!:dance3:

I LOVE Apples to Apples. We have Apples to Apples To Go, maybe I should bring it? :confused3

Krista

We think that game is fun, too, but we don't own it. We will probably go look for more games in travel sizes that are fun, as well. Jason's Carry-On on the lfight is probably going to be all lanyards, FE gifts and games....poor thing LOL
