You weren't forgotten, I mentioned you!!!
Me tooooooooo.
we loved the WBPC in 2008 and would do it again but the cost of the cruise is more than double what we paid in 2008 and we were able to do both TA's for the price of the PC in 2011. I would have liked to have been on it - maybe if we win the lottery = because then we would be doing as many B2b's as possible for about a month or 2!

My 2cents - don't pay for a photographer - I think we have always been able to go to shutters and ask them to "stop by" and take the picture. and if not my hubby can take it with his set up that he brings to take pictures - and then we can have pictures printed at shutters or I can bring CD's and burn the image onto it for everyone for less than $85

We booked round trip because it was cheaper - but now we also are doing both parts of the cruise :)

Krisann
I think thats a cheek taking payment for taking photos that are going to be bought, I am sure between us there will be 50 camers, and hundreds of pics, they can all get e-mailed around when we get home.
DS LOVED A-Team. I will have to tell him this is a must see for him.:thumbsup2

There was a letter to the editor this morning in our local paper about this.
Evidently someone actually called the police because two little boys were making too much noise in the backyard, MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON, playing on their slip and slide. :confused3 How absurd is that!! :sad2:

.
That is ridik, as much as I moan about stuff I know it is my problem and not the neighbours, moaning just eases the pain:rotfl: I moaned to my mum and she sadi" but its summer" I know !! just listen and smile at me!

I have never heard of a fee to take our group DIS shots. We've got plenty of people with really good cameras. I don't see a need to pay a DCL photographer.

As to date/time, whatever they can come up with, I guess we'll roll with it. If we have to, we'll just take over some chairs in one of the rooms.

Totally agree.

I just called home and we got our shirts today!!

Thanks to Sue for the coordination and to Todd and Helen for the speedy delivery!! :cool1:

Kristi

This is such a cute photograph .. what a gorgeous little boy .

Thank you.

I totally understand - in a foolish moment i started sorting DS lego.... nine hours later is was all done.
How long did they stay sorted? My DW spent hours separating the little parts and they are slowly mixing in.

I know a few people have booked back up flights just in case but our fare is non-refundable and we really don't have money for another flight so we are just keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out!!

I'm right there with you. If I'm "stuck" in London on the 15th, I will start looking into the train. That is possible right?

IT ARRRRIVED!

Thank you again, Sue, Todd, Helen, and Glenn for making this happen!! I can't wait to wear it!! pirate:

Love them. Big thanks to Sue, Todd, Helen and Glenn! They are fab!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::love::love:

I agree. we can just go near Cove Cafe or down to deck 7. Works for me..

We only booked the second flight as we know we can get some money back on the first so only loose about £50 I think it is.

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA TOUR MEMBERS

Today I received an email from Eusébia asking me to divide the groups into 14 or less. She has asked that one DIS member's name be on the sign for each driver per group so as not to cause confusion for the drivers.

At this point we have a total of 70 persons signed up for the tour.

For right now I need 3 things to be reconfirmed with me for the tour via email or PM.

1. Below I have listed the following members signed up for the tour. If you are not on the list or have changed your mind about taking the tour, please either email me or PM me ASAP.

If you have emailed or PM'd me but not confirmed you are taking the tour, I will need to hear from you as well. If you have not emailed or PM'd me and want to be included on the tour, please email or PM me ASAP.

2. I also need to know in that message if there other DISers besides your family that you would like to be in your van so I can make a master list. I will try my best to accommodate friends riding together. For example, if you want to be in an all adults van, I need that information.

3. Even if you don't care with whom you ride in the van, I need to hear from you that you are going via email or PM. If you are wine tasting or not, also please let me know. It does not make a difference which van you are in if some are wine tasting and some are not as Old Blandy's Wine Lodge is on our way back to the ship. I just want to be sure Old Blandy's Wine Lodge has an accurate count of our group so we can taste together if possible.

Master List:

01. Birkner - 2
02. Buckeye Gal - 1
03. Renegade 7 - 2

yes, i agree. I don't plan to use shutters if there is an $85 fee plus the purchase of the photos! I just copied her whole response to my email.

Thanks for your input

Thank you.

I'm right there with you. If I'm "stuck" in London on the 15th, I will start looking into the train. That is possible right?

It couldn't be simpler. Just hop on an afternoon Eurostar from London to Paris, then take the Elipsos 'trainhotel' from Paris to Barcelona overnight. Enjoy dinner in the restaurant or a drink in the bar as French villages swish past in the moonlight before retiring to your sleeper for the night, then wake up in Spain. Fares start at £59 return for the Eurostar plus £66 each way for the trainhotel, including a bed in a 4-bed Tourist class sleeper.

Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, leaving London St Pancras at 15:02 and arriving in Paris Gare du Nord at 18:17 .

Travel from Paris to Barcelona overnight on the trainhotel 'Joan Miro', leaving Paris Gare d'Austerlitz daily at 20:34 and arriving next morning in Barcelona França station at 08:24

Hope we do not need it.

i agree on both counts. I would suspect quite a few of us have good cameras and tripods. We can set up and take the pics on a timer.

if she can't come up with a room, one dis=er said we should just take over the front part of deck 9, and pop the corks!

Great backup plan!! If I get to Frankfort and can't make the Air Berlin flight, is there a similar train?

I got my haircut this afternoon, so you know what that means? ONLY ONE MORE APPOINTMENT BEFORE THE CRUISE!!! I have my fresh cut and color scheduled the day before I leave! :yay:

Coool! Oh, it's getting closer!

:thanks::thanks: to everyone on the Wristband Team!

Rigth! DANKESCHOEN!

Now why didn't I think of looking there !!!! :rotfl:
Seems Dubai, Denmark round off our list.
And there are a whole bunch of Canadians.
Sorry i didn't remember you all, It's just I think everyone on these boards lives inside my laptop
;)
SW

You are right. Our friend from Denmark is travelling with us.

I love your pic of you and the boat where did you get this?

Thank you. Why don't you get one too...

We looked at that option too but can't get to London for 3 on the 17th and will not make the cruise intime so hence booked another flight. Im sure I'm panicing over nothing but would rather waste £50 than find we can't make the cruise. If we were travelling earlier I wouldn't have bothered, but we can't leave until that evening so bit of a panic!

This is great info. Are you leaving from London?

I'd be worried about relying on this option. Remember how busy the trains were during the volcano? Would the air travel problem with a strike cause the same problem? I'm not traveling in that area so I'm not up to date on what is happening there, but this was the thought I had with using the train as a back up. I hope it doesn't affect any of my new Disfriends!

ok all the talk about stats for the cruise - I set up a Google spreadsheet to track everything! I will slowly use the main site to transfer over info that is on the website (except for real names - just sticking with DISnames so it is not so big. If you would like to help in this project personally you can go and fill in your own information! It will take me days to do it myself but I will start doing it. If you think of something else besides what i have on there that we should be tracking - let me know and I will add it.

I took all the names from the website and/or the wristband sheet so if you are not on there add yourself to the bottom please! We have a total of 145 cabins listed!

to get to the sheet go to:

It took me to the main google docs sign in. Is the link wrong?

And I've replied! :thumbsup2 I love the options...

Most of the people we're sailing with are doing the B2B but I just wasn't comfy with the notion of Alaska in May - I'm not too keen on the cold!!! BUT, this is a cruise Richard really wanted to do, so I agreed to the last August sailing... Which turned out great as, unbeknown to me, Claire (Pinky166) and her DH booked that one too.

I suppose having grown up in Germany, the cold does not worry me too much.

Hi everyone! I sent an email to DCL special events about the Champagne Girls party. Right now, the date and venue are undecided. I asked for a sea day, because I know most of us will be going ashore on port days. Looks like the event schedule is pretty full. Below is Dorothy's response, my answer, and Dorothy's second response. Please read them and send me your creative ideas! Connie

From Dorothy Ednie
Hello Connie,
I remember the pink ladies. Deb sent me a picture with everyone decked out in pink and pink boas.
I will be glad to look for a venue that you can have a wine tasting. It may be an issue though on a sea day. They have so much going on on the ship that the venues are impossible to come by on sea days. How about at 4pm one afternoon other than a sea day? It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back to you. I have to wait for the ship to make its schedule for that sailing.

For wine brought onboard there will be a $15 corking fee to open the bottle.

I can make the arrangements for the photographer if you would like. The $85 fee will need to be prepaid and all photos would be paid for on the ship.

I will contact you in a couple of weeks.
Take care, CTC Dorothy Ednie

from Me:Thank you for responding so quickly. We really need to do the Champagne Girls party on a sea day. If Diversions or Sessions is not available, what about the Promenade lounge?
Please see what you can find for me. I'll go with whatever you can do.
Sincerely, Connie Quick

from: Dorothy EdnieI will ask for what you want…I just wanted you to be aware that it may be a challenge. I’ll let you know. Dorothy Ednie

Thanks for organizing this.

What's the rules about drinking on the secret deck on deck 7. You could have quiet a nice party there, weather permitting.

I love that idea

I'm right there with you. If I'm "stuck" in London on the 15th, I will start looking into the train. That is possible right?

We ended up having to go to Barcelona by train and ferry when we went on our Med cruise because of the volcano disruption and had a wonderful time doing this.

A lot of this was media hype. We decided on the Monday before our cruise, at the height of the whole volcano business, that we were not going to chance missing the boat and we booked everything then for leaving the next day. This is not going to be on the same scale as there are plenty of UK airports that are not operated by BAA.

I'm glad there are a lot of options for everyone. We just have to hope for no strikes and a sleepy volcano!
