We are going to the opthamalogist for Dennis this afternoon. He has a cataract that is about ready to take out. I would love for him to be able to see clearly for this trip, but we need to talk about recovery time, especially related to flying. I have no idea what that would be as this is our first experience with this. Fun getting old! :sad2: :lmao::rotfl2: The senior discounts are nice though.

I am petrified of clowns, yep, since IT, They are the freakiest things ever! My poor kids have never even been to the circus, ew, I might see a clown!

:scared1::scared1: I hate clowns too ... particularly spooky clowns. I also hate ventriloquist dummies ... the ones that look like people ... :scared1:

Another trying day in the Zabek household re sleep, Weve a leak in the roof(old house) on and off for 1year, been waiting on the builder turning up for a month, ofcourse just as I am drifting off to sleep he turns up, Its so frustrating,oh well only the weekend to go.:rolleyes1

You have no manner of luck  Hope he fixed it quickly and left so you could get some sleep. I have 2 nights scheduled before the cruise and that is 2 too many !!

Hi all!Just a quick query.

I see there's a 'Villains' night and the dress is 'themed'. Does this mean that people are dressing up as villains...?

I'm just trying to make some sense of my packing list so wondered what others were doing... :thumbsup2

We are dressing in purple / black with masks I believe. Not going the whole villain costume due to packing restrictions. Still need a purple dress of I might just wear a black one with a purple throw.

As Marilyn Says, I bought a mask(something like this)
mask.jpg

Not sure If I will wear it though, might be too chicken.

Great mask ..... I'll wear mine if you wear yours :rotfl::rotfl:

I forgot to ask about participating with the Fish Extenders. Any group tours planned or activities?

Oh, by the way, I didn't tell Lindsay that WE ARE GOING ON THIS CRUISE. She'll find out when she reads the post this weekend. :surfweb:
So, YES LINDSAY, WE ARE GOING ON THIS CRUISE!!!! :woohoo::cheer2::jumping1: This is my birthday present to you. :bday:party:

Bev

I would love to see her reaction when she starts reading :yay::yay:

If you are late diners and would like to sit with other DISers please send me a PM !!!

Well, my day started wet, then zoomed to exciting. Woke up at 5am to discover the 'joys' of sharing a bed with a newly diaper-free toddler. Stripped bed and hoped for a bit more sleep. DH is taking the kids to see my mom Tru and to help her pack as I start back on call today. I decided to head to Starbucks to start my on-call gently and get my agenda transfered over to my iPad. En route, I got a page (still off call) from a collegue who was needing immediate assistance with a client who was only 32 weeks pregnant but delivering at our office! We made it to the hospital and all is well. I still haven't gotten that coffee! Wah, I want to be cruising.

Thats the joy of our job ... never a dull moment. We had a new arrival down the loo the other day. The midwife had popped out of the birthing unit to spend a penny herself and the next thing the woman emerged from the bathroom of her room with the baby and said " I've had it ! "

Hmmmmm.....Disney fans on a Disney cruise. Do you think this man missed the boat mentally???

crazy.gif

Thats what I was thinking ... it's hardly unexpected is it :rotfl:

Oh and this week has been a bit of a hard week for me as I'm still not right with all this anemia stuff going on. I don't think my levels are getting any better yet and now having to have more blood tests and an xray of my hand in order to see whether the pains I'm getting are anemia related or if my anemia is being caused by something else such as Rhuematoid Arthritis. So more blood tests to look forward to monday and an xray hopefully before we go away (3-4 weeks they claims)! I just wish they would sort it all out before I go.

My boss kindly pointed out today that I actually am paler than anyone she knows and that should have given me a clue that I was anemic! This being the case I've always been pale so therefore according to her have always been anemic! Seriously people are nuts

Still hopefully this weekend will get to see Toy Story 3 so yeah!

Hope everyone else is going to have a fab weekend!

Hope you feel better soon. It can take a few weeks to boost your iron by medication. Take a big bunch of tissues for Toy Story :sad1:

I had some good news today .... my boss said I could have the week before the cruise off as annual leave as I had a week outstanding ... so that's wonderful .. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We are going to friends this evening to look at their WDW holiday photos over pizza and a few beers. I should say no to the pizza and beers .... I'm
supposed to be watching my weight :eek:

This is the place for the most current information about the Madeira Daniel Taxi tour that I am organizing. I will update the link when I have more information to add.

Madeira Tour Information

What I'm not seeing is where we sign up for the tour. I would like to sign up my husband (Jack) and I (Rene). If I am correct, we pay the driver/guide; lunch is extra; and cable car is extra. Am I right?

I wrote about one month ago, that DD and I signed up for this cruise but due to my surgery I had to wait to get the okay to fly from my doctor. The other day, he said he thought I would be able to fly and do this cruise  but that I should wait for sure until my next visit with him on August 17. :confused3 In the meantime, as of now, DD AND I ARE JOINING YOU:dance3: Is it too late to order shirts, wrist bands, lanyards etc etc? I hope not. Are people already linked up for dinner? Now I have to get my airfare. Planning on flying from PHL or EWK on the 15th arriving the 16th. My Jewish Holiday starts sundown on the 17th so Lindsay and I are planning on finding a synagoge in Barcelona and attending Holiday services there. Thinking about staying at NH Constanza. Anyone else staying there? How are people getting from the airport to their hotel and their hotel to the cruise ship? I know, I'm sure all this was already somewhere, but I have no idea where to start. Pam, Laura, Pat and others, looking forward to seeing you again. DD is 22 and both DD and I will be celebrating our birthdays on this cruise. Will there be anyone around the ages of DD on this awesome cruise?

Bev :)

KrisannB is doing the wristbands and the last FWE grouping. See page one for Shirts. Todd is getting a list of extras that are available pulled together and he will take your details, etc. Tastings are closed (and info has been sent to DCL already). For Lanyards, I think info has to be in by tonight - again, info should be on page one.

Don't forget to go out to www.transatlanticpirates and sign up for roll call. The info on oage one is NOT correct - you sign yourself up on the web page, and then send a photo to us at photos@transatlanticpirates.com.

Welcome aboard!! Oh - I am Sue, traveling with DH Glenn (Buckeye Goofy) DS, Stephen (Michigan Donald) and DD Beca (who at 6 doesn't have a DIS name... YET). We are also the web master, so if you have problems or questions, send them on!

You PM me to sign up. You can either pay now via PayPal or at the time of the tour in Euros.

You are correct that the lunch is extra, if you want to rent lockers when you swim at Porto Moniz it is extra and the cable car is extra.

Please let me know if you are also going to wine taste at the Old Blandy's Wine Lodge and if you have any preference in your van assignment, i.e. sitting with other DIS friends or an adult only van.

My poor mail person must have thought I was nuts. I could hear the little truck making its way and I stood out by our mailbox till she got to it and told her that she had a box for me.

MY SHIRTS ARRIVED!!!!!! :cool1::woohoo:pirate:pirate:

I like the first one, Disney Magic WBTA 2010

We've had "Disney Magic" on wristbands before -- after all, it's the name of the ship we'll be on (like "Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas"). Also, "Disney Magic" is on the t-shirts.

Woody

Noel

9. Go to: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...GZ1dElOLS1KRF9GWDhwWkE&hl=en&authkey=CJmPqOcK

and put your DIS name at the bottom of the list - then tell me the sizes you need for your wristbands (they are a gift) and fill in any other information you would like to share!

10. If you want to be in the FE please email me at akblair@charter.net with your info.

I had to click on Sheet 7 to see the voting page. You might want to rename that sheet. Took me a while to find it.

I renamed it - just look for the tab on the bottom that says "vote for wording"

sorry did not realize it went to the set of sheets and not directly to that one.

Krisann

Crumbs, 7 is young. We could work at 14 I think, which I did, both in a sweet shop:-)lmao:) and waiting on in a restaurant!!! Nowadays I think teens have to be 16, or at least the shops etc want older kids. Mind you I think paper boy/girls can be younger for some reason.

My first jobs were in the 6th grade at age 10 cutting cots (apricots) and babysitting siblings for small amounts of pocket money. DH was a paper boy when he was about 10 or 11. His mother used to drive him when the weather was bad as he had to get up at 3:30 AM to deliver papers in a rural area.

there's a typo in there somewhere right??? :rotfl2:

I noticed, but thought I would leave it for someone else to mention!!!!:lmao:

Hope that all goes well. It is on my lists of 'don't wants' but I guess needs must when the time comes. I'm a bit funny about eyes.

In my reading of the Cataract Surgery Info website, it looks likes you are fulling recovered within one month. Check out the site but of course, your doctor may have different suggestions.

We do love those senior discounts!!

Hope this helps.

Dennis is quite uncomfortable about it also. But, his vision is blurry now especially in his right eye and he needs to be able to see clearly to drive the RV (I do not drive it!) and for taking photos. He can't see if it is adjusted clearly now. So, I caught him winking at me ;) the other day and he was not really winking, so I said it is time to get this looked at again.

Haven't had to have my eyes done, but my mom did at age 74. She was driving a week later, and playing golf at day 10 (she could have plyed earlier but she didn't want her handicap to change due to good eyesight... LOL)

Glenn was built backwards and had his one eye done at an early age - Im not sure of the details... (hint hint to post dear...)
