The Sun are running an offer starting on Saturday 13th November for £9.50 for a day ticket,as with their holidays you have to pick your dates one of which has to be a weekday between jan - march 2011 with some blackout dates in march (see website, sorry don't know how to paste a link). Am guessing that like the holiday offers it's £9.50 pp plus ins. You can apply for up to 2 adults and 2 children, as far as I can see this includes a return ferry crossing and upgrades are available from £99 for one night and £238 for two nights, couldn't see where you would be staying as the upgrade link wouldn't upload on my laptop, perhaps it will for someone else.

Would have a think about the day ticket as not only have you got to drive to the port, you have a crossing (possibly in rough seas due to the time of year) which will take approx 1 1/2 hrs then drive approx 3hrs the other side, day in the park then do it all in reverse, think it would be a very long day especially with kids.

Personaly I would look more at the clucard offer with tesco for the tunnel and tickets and try and stay offsite at one of the partner hotels, as I don't tend to use my clubcard vouchers for shopping this suits me very well. We stayed at the Kyriad in sept this yr and it cost around £50 for two adults (as it was on offer) plus you get the bus to take you to the park so don't have to pay to use the Disney car park and you can have a drink too if so inclined!! :rotfl2:

Think the tesco dlp tickets are around £27.50 for that time of yr each for a hopper (don't know if the sun one will be a hopper, but would you have time anyway if it is for a day) or another option could be to get the sun ticket go a day earlier in the evening via eurotunnel drive down to dlp stay at a partner hotel go to disney village for tea and to get you in the mood, and go into the parks 1st thing, just trying to think of ways of keeping the cash in your pockets to spend in disney!!

So many different combinations, then there's the thing of wether Disney do one of there offers:worship: oh my can of worms;)

Should just add, all this is only if you really want to go to DLP, I get carried away when it comes to Disney as my DH undoubtedly would agree with:goodvibes

I have gone for the day several times so am interested even if its with P&O, they are meant to be taking delivery of 2 new ships next year which is a long time coming.

My dad & I are looking at going again for a day in December, we get there for opening & leave when the parks shut. Sharing the driving so its not a problem.

Just read the terms & conditions, to get the family ticket the ferry ticket has to be purchased through the travel company they nominate & the price is FROM not for. To get the £9.50 deal you have to travel on a Mon or Tues, its £17.50 all other days

Terms & Conditions can be found here

Thanks for pointing the from bit out, I had just glanced through, glad that someone pays more attention than I :-)

Does anyone know at what point you get the DLP tickets ?
No way would I drive, but might be interested in the offer just for the tickets, could book cheap flight and hotel myself.

basically you are booking a ferry crossing FROM £9.50 per person
then get the 2 ad 2 ch DLP 1 day tickets

would love to take advantage ( even though we aren't supposed to be going next yr :rotfl:)

but too many T&Cs against us really

you have to choose a weekday as one of the date choices, price hike in school hols,IF they cover your school hols at all ( check your school holiday dates and the blackout dates on the T&C's page)

OP we did a trip like that in Oct
used deals for eurotunnel and tickets ( pants conversion rate though and about to get worse!)
then stayed 15 mins away @ Le Chene Gris with the SUN £9.50 holidays

works fine for us,as we don't feel the need to stay onsite and we get a cheapy DLP fix :goodvibes

you can also change tesco deals for airmiles, and book flights, eurostar or even a DLP package

but again not a great conversion rate

My BIL and SIL did this last year, they were going to go for just the day, then added on one night, then two nights so it ended up quite expensive in the end. I remember them saying they could have got it cheaper booking in the usual way.

Having further read the T&C's again
it looks like it may be doable :goodvibes

it's £29.50 to travel in Feb half term, for a family of 4 (not per person as I first thought / was told)

you are booking a return ferry BUT you could just not use it / turn up
as they send the tickets ( well the paperwork which you then exchange at the ticket desk in Disney) through with the confirmation

so basically 2 ad & 2 ch 1 day passes for £29.50!
Tesco deals for Eurotunnel + a cheapy hotel = bargain !

sooooo tempted!

Thanks for that Rachel, exactly what I wanted to know :thumbsup2

I went to the shops yesterday to get the sun which excites me. Either way it should work out cheaper if you book it at the beginning instead of booking hotels when your there xx

if u want to book now with a hotel, you can !

courtesy of MSE ....

"you can actually book now if you are going to do an overnight stay just provisionally booked my 1 night stay & paid £80 deposit & have to send the remainder (£58) with the tokens within 14 days with a stamped addressed envelope
http://www.consortsunpromo.co.uk/ "

ooh I dont know, not booked myself
you can book by phone too,the number should be on the website

i bough the sun for this offer with view to getting a disney fix after we come back from florida in Feb but the more i look into it the less it is appealing to be honest. not sure it's worth all the driving time :confused3 plus the only hotel coming up for Dave Crocketts, is this a good hotel?
