Hey y'all so I was wondering if there were any rooms that were in view of the lounge at the YC (CL)? We were hoping to take along the baby monitor and put the kids down and sneak out to the lounge so we didn't have to go to bed at 8 every night? However if I cant see he room I'm not sure how comfortable I will be with this plan.

I have never been to the yacht club CL so I can not comment..However all the yacht club rooms do have full balconies..What about getting some snacks/beverages from the lounge on your way back from the park or before the children fall asleep and while they are asleep hanging out on the balcony of your hotel room..this way your children are within eye view and you will feel more comfortable. also disney offers babysitting services if you need a night out alone.

I was reading on the club level board that the Grand Floridian has tiny milk cartons for guests to take back to their room (for small children/babies) and I thought I remembered that Beach Club has their milk in a large pitcher for breakfast.

I ask because my daughter has some dietary guidelines and she needs milk at least 3x daily and it would be nice to have some on hand for the afternoon...I am the complete opposite and can no longer drink milk, I normally drink Almond milk because I can't stand the taste of soy milk...anyone know if they offer a non-lactose option?

As previously posted, my family stayed at BCV last month. I bought a new camera and new memory card thru Wolff Camera. Seems they sold me a corrupted memory card. On day 6 of our vacation I could no longer view any of our 200+ photos I had taken. Got back home, took the card back to Wolff. After 3 weeks they recovered 80 of my 200+ photos and not one of them was any of the Beach Club photos I took, the pics with MS. Teena, etc. I am so bummed. Looks like I will be coming back to this site just to see all your pics so I can have memories of our trip. Also, I guess I need to come back again!!!

That's the correct attitude!! Look for the bright side and start planning your next YC/BC visit.

Sorry about the pictures though.

I'm sorry, I think I know how you feel:

In 1998 we were stationed in Korea and DH was using a film camera (we developed our own film) to take photos in the hospital after our one and only DD was born prematurely. After DD was released from the hospital, we discovered that the film did not catch on the spool right and so the film never advanced properly and consequently, we have no photos at all of our daughter in the hospital/NICU.

Thats not right, so sorry. My daughter was born premature at 26 weeks, she was one pound/10 ounces. She was in the NICU for 3 months. She is a strong girl (now 8 years old). She was born early due to her twin sister. Lost her twin after 4 hours. Here's a picture of our family, she is obviously the beautifil girl with the glasses.

If you dd needs milk 3 times a day and you like the special almond milk
I would just order what you need from the Garden Grocer. We always use them and they are wonderful. We stock up on vitamin waters, bottled water, and I order laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and all the liquids I don't want to have to worry about on the plane like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, shaving cream etc.

HTH.

Awww, I had no idea there were so many preemie moms lurking about. :) My ODS was born at 26 1/2 weeks at 2 lbs 5 oz -- We'll be at BC for his 8th birthday in June. Here's a link to a flickr pic of my big guy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevensevchuk/5609785755/in/set-72157626351357115/
:lovestruc My poor kid, fell over the couch & landed just so & broke his forearm. Fortunately he should be well healed by our vacation.

The twins were preemie too, but at 30w 5d & 3lbs 8oz each, they were not nearly as small & sick as ODS was & now I have a hard time thinking of them as preemie, whereas my oldest will always be my preemie, at least in my heart.

Does the beach club have the room service in the morning where you leave the menu with the items you picked on the door knob the night before and they will have breakfast ready for you the next morning at a certain time. My cousin is headed to the beach club tonight and she was asking me if they have that and for the life of me I can't remember if they do or not. I know on the disney cruise they had this because we used it but I can't recall ever doing this at the beach club but its probably because I am not a big breakfast person.

I was in Beach Club Villas in March. I remember looking at the room service menu. I did not see any form to fill out to place a written order in advance.

It's possible that it should have been there but wasn't.

I think I would have noticed it. I hate the way they have promotional material all over the room. It doesn't feel like home when there are ads everywhere. I pick it all up and put it all in one pile.

Hello! We drink lots of milk, and did not see cartons in the club lounge, but a CM was always available to get a cup of milk with a lid for us to take back to the room if milk was not available in a pitcher out on the counter. Other options - Robyn mentioned garden grocer, and we often purchase a 1/2 gallon of milk from the BC Marketplace. See gallons and cartons below:

I can zoom in on the photo if you need any additional information.

So sorry they were not able to retrieve more of your pictures, I usually take my laptop along and download my pics daily but not planning to on our trip in Oct, I bought extra memory cards.....a little nervous now

I have a question for Dee, Robyn and all the summer BCers!

So after initial enthusiasm over the Kennedy Space Center, our boys decided they really want to do Typhoon Lagoon instead. So they made a very persuasive pitch for that last night. Great presentation, including a list of reasons we should go to TL (with visual aids!) With all that effort and enthusiasm, we granted the request!

Now, I'm still mourning the loss of River Country and have not been willing to try one of these "new" Disney waterparks. So I don't know much about TL other than what I read in Dee's trip report! I've just done a few searches and called Disney, but I'm left with a question.

So my question - it will be August. We are a family of 5 and we plan to arrive for EMH at 8am and stay all day. What do you all think about the Getaway Glen Umbrellas or the Beachcomber Shack? Prices have increased to $50 per umbrella set (we'd need two) and $319 for the Shack (in addition to admission costs.)

We always go to BB (except last year after dd's broken leg!). We went to TL once and one of the kids really got knocked down in the wave pool and I'm embarrassed to say, but we lost one of the girls so no more TL for us!!!

We go on EMH and never have a problem staking out a good spot. I really don't think you need the cabanas at all. I would just get there right at 8, take your stuff over to an area that suits you and use that as your "spot". You really will have your pick of spots, and you won't have any trouble getting 5 chaise lounges so I would skip the cabana and umbrellas.

Now I do love the cabanas at Hard Rock, and this year we're renting one at the Poly. I'm hoping that eventually BC will get one too. Now I'd definitely pay for that one!!!

Another preemie mom here. My now 11-year-old son was a 31-week preemie born at 2 pounds 8 ounces. In fact, we both almost lost our lives due to severe preeclampsia and after HELLP syndrome. He's still what we call our miracle baby (needed fertility help). Thank God he's fine now and we went on to have 2 more healthy children.

I have never arrived at the waterparks in the mornings, we have only gone for a few hours in the afternoons. I agree with Robyn- I think you will be able to find a few chairs to make a home base. There may even be some covered areas that you don't have to pay for- there was at Blizzard Beach when we went last summer.

Teena reserved the seating area at TL yesterday when she, Bob, Jeanne and Brian went yesterday- she said it was worth every penny- so she may have some advice for you. I think they went pretty early too, so she should be able to tell you what the crowds were like (April school break, very hot and humid in Orlando yesterday), probably similar to conditions in August.

I prefer Typhoon Lagoon, but Robyn is right, the wave pool is very rough. I like the tropical theming and playlist of songs. Shark Reef is fun (but short).

I think I may have a file of info about the waterparks- or it may just be a link to a DIS thread- but if I find it I'll "PM" it to you.

Pixarmom - We just had a bad experience at TL because it was just one of those days where everything went wrong. I'd go back in a heartbeat for DH once WAS enough! So we stick with BB, but we love it there too!

I got the best deal on the waterparks EVER!!! Years ago DH was running a marathon. It was "between" APs so we just got 7 day passes. They were doing a promotion where the waterparks and more option was free. I added "No expiration" to the passes. I think at that time it was $50 to add the option. So for $250 I got 7 days of waterparks for 5 people! We are still using them. Of course DH didn't really understand the Disney Math, so he just thought I was spending more money. I never forget to remind him every time we go to the waterparks what a great deal I got!!!!

I'm thinking of doing this for my DH & two boys this year. Instead of getting them APs, I think I'll get them 10 day hopper, waterpark & more, non-expiring tickets. It will cover our two trips (Nov & April) and give them each 10 water park days that never expire. :thumbsup2

The one thing keeping me on the fence is whether they'll both reach 54 inches by April. If so, we are going to try a couple days at Universal. If not, we'll need more than the five park days that will be left on the tickets. :confused3
