That's a shame, maybe they are less cooperative to TA's due to the commissions?

It's our first time in an inside cabin as we are trying to keep the cost down on this cruise, I too am just grateful to be on the ship. It will be a great cruise no matter what. And only 4 months and a few days to go.....

Maybe you're right about the commissions thing - I have no idea how it works, but it's a shame the cruise people have to be so frustrating to deal with. Our TA will speak up if she thinks she's being taken for a ride, but I can see agents trying to slip one past a TA if they think they can get away with it.

Well, I tried to get the WBTA price drop room swapover thingee, but as we'd paid our final payment, our TA said that Disney wouldn't honour it without us cancelling outright and sacrificing our down payment.

No thank you.

She said that the Disney people were less than helpful when she first asked them... she said getting them to admit there was even a price drop, or any special offers, on our cruise was like pulling teeth. She saw the website before she called, so she knew they were available. When pushed, the rep she spoke to said "oh yes! That deal! I'd forgotten about that being available".

Oh.

She also asked what sort of inventory on rooms were available, and he told her "there's no way for me to know that". Um, isn't that sort of information available on their computers?

So, we are still in our inside on Deck 6, and I am thrilled beyond words we are going in the first place - I just wanted to try to pull a wee surprise out of the hat for my family.

Dawn, that all sounds pretty strange. I am in the same position as Claire that we had also paid in full and DCL cancelled one reservation, re-booked it at the new price and transferred the funds from one reservation to the other and we got a credit paid to our credit card. I thought you didn't lose your deposit/any money until after 75 days out

Our friends, who are pending on this cruise said they have until mid June before they cancel and lose any money.

There seems to be a breakdown somewhere It's a shame that your surprise ungrade didn't work out

We never worry about leaving a bag with suncream etc (non valuable) somewhere, but always wear one of the water park neck waterproof cases for our room keys and any money

Been at Disneyland the last day and a half. They have transformed the island with big screen and stage for the release of POTC4. Took pics and thought of you Sarah. Park closes early as they literally roll out the red carpet

Just a brief checkin. I've been MIA due to the time of year. I only have a few weeks to finalize my masters thesis and submit it. So I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I am not a writer just a doer so the experiment part was easy but writing about it takes me forever!

We made our final payment on the 28th so one less thing to worry about. I stayed at a Mariott for a big conference and earned enough points that we can stay 1 night at the Renaissance Barcelona airport for free and free is always good.

Hi Nickole

With regard to the different ports, the currencies accepted are:-

Barcelona - euros
Gibraltar - euros and UK £
Madeira - euros
St Maarten - euros and US $
Tortola - US $

So you'll only need some US $ and euros in currency

Just an extra here. Gibraltar has it's own currency, the Gibraltar Pound. It is the same as the UK pound, but you don't want it as change as you can't use it anywhere else! So, ask for Euro change(or UK money), or use your card. One of us Brits will always buy some back off you if you are stuck with some(not Gibraltan though)

We are so excited our cruise documentation arrived this morning by Fed-ex, just been having a look through it

I officially started packing as soon as May arrived with a month to go, you know you're going on holiday when the Disney t-shirts come out of the holiday clothes drawer

I would be interested to hear all about the Costa Cruise ... my friend is going to be a dancer on one of the Costa ships .. not sure which one, as she is training at the moment. Have a wonderful cruise.

Well we had a good day in London yesterday. We were there in 2 and a half hours and Taryn spent a long 3 hours in the American Embassy where she was sorting out her visa for the WDW college programme.

There were lots of metropolitan police outside with machine guns but other than that I didn't notice any heightened security.

I killed time in Starbucks, and wandering about Grosvenor Square taking photos. Saw Gordon Ramsay's place:

I just want to report some nice good news. No, not the fact that we have PIF!!

I had a change in pain meds a few weeks ago, and then had the dose upped this week. Well, I feel like I have got my life back with being more awake and less dopey, plus of course almost pain free. I didn't realise how bad I felt before. We both feel much more positive about making the cruise, just a few hurdles left. I might have to increase the dose a little more and then once it is stable go on patches, so that will be another positive step. Just wanted to share how much better things are.

Oh, your car!! I was sorry to read that. You never make any money with a car do you? Do you have it to get to work tonight?

I have just been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis after the pain never really went away from my acute attack in Dec '09. I never had the gallbladder pain at all, but apparently they believe the stones were what caused the acute pancreatitis. There were none visible when they examined the gallbladder after they took it out, but apparently there was evidence there had been some. The tiny ones are the most problematic! The pain I have is pancreatic.
