Well, DH may not be coming on the WBTA with Vickie and I, but he is taking me to Disneyland for 5 days in August and we are going on the Disney Dream for the 5 night New Years Eve cruise so I guess I can't be too upset with him. Vickie and I will have two weeks of peace and will enjoy getting to know all of you. Looking forward to meeting everyone around the ship. :)

Hi Mandy, thank you for putting my mind at ease. I think we should be ok with paddling to the shore ;)

I'm glad he clarified for me. Seems like a great guy, and is the owner/captain of the company. He just doesn't know he'll have us near the end of two weeks of mixology tastings, mojito tastings, champagne girls, happy hours, pub crawls... :rotfl2: But at least we know there is a dinghy just in case! :thumbsup2

Well finally caught up on all the pages.

Having just come from Barcelona, I can say that Terminal A where our ship was docked had a nice set of stores inside the terminal, including a duty free liquor store and a small store of sundries and I think snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. There was also a store of drug-store like items.

Unfortunately because NCL charged a whopping $15 per bottle brought on board, we did not use the shops. I cannot say if they are in all 3 of the Barcelona terminals (but I would think so).

We had friends go out of Barcelona on the Magic last year and they stocked up at the terminal.

So you may want to take precautionary bottles in Barcelona just in case Morrison's is closed.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thanks Mandy for clarifying the position re the catamaran . Went out this morning and purchased a 80L dry sack, which I’m sure will come in handy at some point. DH husband says he can always put my head in it :scared1::scared1:

We might not need the dinghy getting to the shore Mandy, but I can't say for definite that we won't after a few "painkillers" and getting back onto the cat:rolleyes1

Thanks Amanda for this info. It's always handy to have a spare bottle just incase :)

Aww Margaret - My DH would've said something similar:rolleyes: very cheeky;)

Happy Birthday Claire!
Mandy, thanks for the clarification. Andrew and I should be just fine (though he may be a bit tentative. It's hard when you're 6 ft at 13 and wear US size 13 shoes...you're not quite as old as people think you are and they usually expect more of you.)

Back to grants.....

happy birthday claire!!!

to those who booked the horseriding on st maarten, what time did you choose? we went for 9am, and i've asked if they'll drop us at maho beach afterwards :)

Thanks to all the disboard members who have been playing our excursion and activities :thumbsup2 The only place we don't have anything planned is Gibraltor. Since we have never been there we want to see what it has to offer. Should we wait and hire a taxi at the port or book an excursion through DCL. Any info greatly appeciated.:confused3

I wonder if that was the same hypnotist that was on the 2008 Panama Canal cruise? My sister got hypnotised and thought paper napkins were money and thought she was Hannah Montana. She was the hit of the cruise for the rest of it. I never laughed so hard in my life. I wished I had my video camera.

That is funny! :lmao: That may be the same hypnotist.

Interesting story - The hypnotist that was on our cruise last summer lives near us in a neighboring subdivision. My daughter attended the overnight Lock-In held after her high school Graduation and commented on the Hynotist that performed that night. As she was telling some of the things he had done, my husband made a comment about that sounding a lot like what had happened with the Hypnotist on the cruise. So, we looked him up, and it was the same guy! :thumbsup2

He's very good and puts on a very entertaining show. He had people believing they had "lost" their belly buttons, and that they were watching a (porn) flick that they later realized starred their parents. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Can only imagine how the grads reacted to that one! :lmao:

Wonder if he'll be on our cruise?

We booked the "City Under Seige" tour through DCL. It included all the things we wanted to see. We booked the 12:45 PM one so we could wander around in the morning, do a little shopping.

We were of the that cruise and it was the best show!!!!:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: We enjoyed the man who that he was the lion king and the lady how got very affectionate when her husband yelled cookie. Too funny Is he going to be on this cruise also?

I was thinking that I should get a conversion kit for the plugs for my electronics that I am bringing on the trip (CPAP machine, cell phone charger, dvd player, laptop, etc), but then I realized that the Magic must have "normal" (i.e., American, no offense to Europeans:laughing:) outlets. So if I can just do without using those things for the one night at the hotel in Barcelona, I should be okay for the trip, right?

Hehehehe.... I'm thinking of getting one as well. We have a camping trip later this summer, and I think I need it for that. (Curt still can't believe we are all going to be in a tent...) For those in the US, REI Outlet has 20% off through today on any one item. Here's dry bags.

Yay! And WOW! 6 feet tall already?!? My senior prom date was 6'5", and I hear ya on how people think tall individuals are older.

We're still hanging tight for the dolphin excursion, and figured we would grab a cab for the rock mainly to see the tunnels and apes. :thumbsup2

I think I have just learned not to do the Newlywed game or Hypnotist!! :rotfl2:

Do you carry your CPAP onboard as carryon for the flights? Or do you risk checking it? I've never checked it, but it sure would be nice. I guess it is better to do carryon "just in case...." plus it is free allowance being medical.
