Hey dog, let's not be greedy! The entry fees for the stargazing meet should be credited to MY off-shore bank account! Any additional gratuities would be very much appreciated!

Of course, I'm just kidding, as well. I can't speak for anyone else's meet-ups, but the stargazing event I am planning will be free to anyone who wants to attend. I am, hopefully, in the nearly-final stages of planning for this event and will be able to lock in the date/time/location details soon. It's taking me a little while to finalize because I'm trying to make this event a bit more informative, enlightening, and entertaining than just an impromptu gathering near the port-side deck chairs on Deck 11. I'm hoping to show DCL that an on-board activity such as this is something that their guests would enjoy and would like to see more of.

Well, that's my intention, anyway. More than likely, my attempt will crash and burn, and I will be horribly embarrassed and have to spend the remainder of the cruise hiding down in the cargo holds!

I think it is wonderful that you are doing this ;)
My DS who is totaly into space and stars and all that jazz and is so looking forward to it. Just this February he got to go with a club here at school and they flew to Florida for a week and went to NASA, Sea World, Animal Kingdom, Universal, etc... and NASA was by far his favorite :thumbsup2 Anything to do with Stars and Ocean is right up his alley...
Thanks a bunch to you again for aranging this :worship: :worship: :worship:

First welcome!! I think there are several of us that are planning to do the 5K run. :) And I am thinking about the princess 1/2 marathon - trying to get an Achilles injury to heal now before I decide

I'm just a beginner, but I'm doing the 5K and I have signed up for the Princess Half. 6 months to train, but my EP swears he can get me there! :thumbsup2

We've made some progress with our cruise planning. We have a confirmed arrival time of 1130-1200. We've reserved the Doubloon Sail & Snorkle on St. Thomas. We're also confirmed for Palo on St. Thomas night. We've also put in a request for our preferred dining rotation (LAP).
As soon as we get on board, we'll be headed for Rockin' Bar D to get brunch, tea, and a second dinner at Palo!
Come on, October!!!

Woo Hoo! It doesn't have rum but our favorite snack drink is The Bushwacker from the pool bar.

Here's a Bushwacker recipe that I found (I didn't know what it was, so I just had to look it up!):

Ingredients:
•1 oz dark rum
•1 oz Kahlua
•1 oz dark creme de cacao
•2 oz cream of coconut
•2 oz milk
•1 cup ice

Preparation:

1. Blend all ingredients with approximately 1 cup of ice.
2. Strain into a hurricane glass.

Sounds great except that I don't do coconut!

Sounds good! Last year on the Magic a cast member gave us the following recipe for the boat Bushwackers:

1/2 oz Baileys
1/2 oz Kahlua
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz Chocolate Licor
2 oz pina colada mix (Pineapple 1: Coconut cream 2)

Haven't tried them at home yet, but, everything is better on the Magic

How do you put in a request for a preferred dining rotation?? This is a new one for me...

(I have all our other items done...online check in, Palo ressies, spa reservations, etc...)...

Counting down the days....

Just contact your travel agent (we're using our DVC points, so I called DVC) and ask them to submit a request to Disney Cruise Line. The DVC cast member called while I was on the line and confirmed that the request was received by DCL. There are no guarantees but they're usually pretty accomodating. I assume that if you don't have a TA, you can just call directly.

That sounds really good, too (of course, I'll use straight pineapple juice instead of pina colada mix). I think I'll try both recipes and have a Bushwacker taste-off. It may take me 3 or 4 of each to decide ;)

I better start using my Disney Visa a whole lot more in the next two months to get more reward points to use towards my on-board account. :woohoo: Those drinks sound really good although I'm not much of a coconut lover either.

Seriously, we just had a $500 vet bill getting two cats spayed and immunizations up to date. It is pretty pathetic that my only consolation was that I just earned 5 more reward dollars! While I would rather have had $500 towards the cruise, it does make the rising costs of groceries & gas more tolerable knowing there is a tiny reward at the end.
