Vacation Strategy

everything I have posted is accurate if you would I can't show post my receit that it was paid in full and the monies never made it to Bonnett Creek like they should have. I really don't appreciate your posts again and again that what I am saying is not correct. This is our first trip to Disney my girls are 8 and 9 they are very excited i had a reservation all in place but this company contacted me and wanted my business so I cancelled my other reservation that we have had for over a year now and went with them now I am back to square one. They took my monies and now still not paid back as of today. The gentleman with the company VS hung up on me wont return my calls. So now I have to come up wiith another 2000.00 dollars to find another hotel room...... At this point I am going to have to tell my girls we can't go. I have been saving for this trip for over a year. So really at this point the last thing i need right now is you telling me assuming what you are saying is true IM TELLING YOU THIS COMPANY TOOK MY MONIES AND NOW WE HAVE TO CANCELL OUR TRIP DO WITH IT WHAT YOU WANT I DON'T GIVE A RATS *** WHAT THE BBB SAYS. I have done nothing but cried all night long... its going to break their hearts. not to mention mine. so thank you for all the great support

i know your going to wonder why its so expensive we were going for two weeks plus the cost of MVMCP and other tickets i have already purchased

Since VS policy is that you pay just the deposit at booking, then you don't pay anything else until you get the confirmation from Wyndham, how did VS get $2000.00 of your money?:confused3 and $200.00 seems awfully high anyway. I'll be there 11 days and am just paying $895.00. oops, nevermind, I just saw you are including tickets in that $2000.00.

I paid the deposit then some how to my understading it is very confusing another email was generated and i needed to pay in full so I did and now they have no idea where the email came from its just a mess. I do alot of business on line and I have never had any issues like this. I tried to explain it to the VS sent the correct paperwork but now it needs to be investigated ect. so we are 30 days I might get me monies back and we are suppose to leave in 14 days not to mention the 1,500 dollars i have tied up in air I just don't know if or when I should tell the girls..... they are going to be so disappointed. Learned a lesson though not dealing with anyone but hotels from now on lol.

Hmm, wonder where that second email came from. Both the quote they first sent me, then the receipt for my deposit specifically said that the balance was not due until after I received the confirmation from Wyndham about 10-20 days before my trip. That balance was even highlighted in a different color and that paragraph was spaced out to bring attention both to the balance and also to the fact that I was not to pay it until after I had received the Wyndham confirmation. Something else that is odd is you said they contacted you. How did they get in touch with you to begin with? I had to email them asking for a quote and from what I've read, they have a very good business and would not need to contact people asking for business. I wonder if that first contact was actually from VS and not some scammer.:confused3

Wait a minute. I'm confused. They contacted you, and you switched to Vacation Strategy when you'd originally had a reservation elsewhere? Why would VS contact you that way?

I'm sorry for all your troubles and hope you find a way to make it to Disney. I don't mean to keep questioning what you are saying, but are you sure you initially talked to someone from VS? I just don't understand why they would contact you in an attempt to get your business. Are you sure it wasn't a scam from someone claiming to be Vacation Strategy? It is just hard to believe because my experience with them was so positive (we rented a two bedroom, not a presidential). They responded quickly with any questions or concerns I had, and we had absolutely no problems.

As I said, I hope you find a way......have you checked into Windsor Hills? We stayed there a couple of years ago at a very good price.

Thank you for your suggestion. I had contacted them awhile back they had nothing available then a email was generated to my understanding when something came available so I called the company confirmed paid what i needed to pay now it is not being honored. That is the reason why I cancelled our reservation at fort wilderness. i know i am really upset because of my girls and we have been looking forward to this for so long but i can't seem to get answers from anyone so something is not right and to hang up on me that is really proffessional.

According to that some company named Krystal International scammed somebody. The only time VS is even mentioned is when the buyer said that he expressed concerns and the sales guy at Krystal International supposedly called a company in FL called Vacation's Strategy and just left a message with them. Who knows who Krystal International actually called. VS may not have even known that Krystal International was using their name and reputation.

Here is the only place VS is even mentioned:
I told him about my reservations regarding the actual sales of the weeks and he then called someone on the phone at Vacation Strategies, LLC. located in Florida. He left a message and told me that this company would give us a letter GUARANTEEING SALES and told us that we could receive the letter by 5 PM (another stall tactic).

Read the article they are out of FLorida.. They scammed someone in California about selling a timeshare. At this point I am going to just move on it is very upsetting too me. I guess I was just the one they picked this time who knows maybe I will get my money back but it will be too late we were suppose to leave in two weeks and it taked 30 days with all the credit card companies.

Windsor Hills is not a 'they,' but rather a property development for which there are various management companies and/or owners who rent villas or townhouses at Windsor Hills. There is nothing on the Vacation Strategy websites that indicates they manage rentals for Windsor Hills. Vacation Strategy deals with Wyndham timeshare properties. Why would Vacation Strategy contact you without your initiating contact them with them?

Your story is extremely confusing and it appears you are not clear what property and/or vendor you were dealing wiith after you cancelled your Disney reservation at Ft. Wilderness.

That's what I think too, although it still is upsetting for the OP. I would just hate for Vacation Strategy to get unwarranted bad reviews.....as I've said many times, I have no reason to defend them other than the fact that we had such a positive experience with them and will probably book with them in the future.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm using Vacation Strategies for the first time in May though and am a little concerned by this. I've only paid them the $150.00 deposit though. They are definitely not getting any more of my money until I get that confirmation from Wyndham and then call Wyndham to double check even that.

Thanks for the heads up OP, but I agree with the two previous posters in that I think you may have got scammed by someone other than VS. That second email just doesn't make sense. Not when both the quote email and the receipt for the deposit are so specific that you don't pay the balance until after you get the confirmation from Wyndham. After I got my quote, I called them to see how to make the deposit and the very nice lady told me I had to make it online. I then asked her if I could go ahead and pay it in full, so that I wouldn't have to worry about it later. She told me, I could not pay the balance until after I got the confirmation from Wyndham 10-20 days out and that after the confirmation from Wyndham came, VS would email me telling me it was time to pay the balance. She also told me that I would not be able to verify my ressie with Wyndham until after I received the confirmation from them, but encouraged me to call Wyndham at that time, if I had any concerns. She also encouraged me to call VS with any concerns after I received the confirmation from Wyndham.:confused3

This is what I'm starting to think, too. That link makes me wonder if scammers like to use Vacation Strategy's name as a way to make them sound reputable!

AmyC2010, I'm sorry it won't help you get a reservation, but I would definitely take this up with your credit card company and see what they can do. Maybe your CC company could get your money back, at least.
 
I admit that it was initially difficult to understand exactly what transpired but the fact is that seemingly a planned vacation will not be able to be taken because it looks like someone got scammed. I dont understand why people who have used VS immediately defend the company and question the veracity of the original poster ( as many people have used them which is good but how can you explain the fact that when they are called they hang up on her ? if she were scammed by a third party you would think that VS would also like to get to the bottom of who is using their good name to defraud people). getting scammed is bad enough, getting scammed then being called a liar is, in my opinion, unseemly.

I said it before and ill say it again, what happened to you really sucks, and despite your concerns about the time line I really hope that something happens to salvage this trip for you.

I've never booked through VS. The OP said she contacted BBB and was told there are many complaints about VS. BBB rates the company A- and shows ZERO COMPLAINTS in the last 3 years. That's why I question the accuracy of the OP. I'll defend VS since the OP is the first negative comment I've read about VS and the OPs BBB comments are fallacious.

About the BBB....I contacted our BBB after filing an online complaint about a company lying to us about the need for extensive brake repairs for our car.I knew they were lying,because I took the car to a reputable dealership who inspected the brakes and found no need for a brake job(they did suggest we come back in 2-3 months for another inspection-pads were ok,but wearing);not what the other company said.Long story short,the BBB contacted them,got no response,sent me several e-mails stating they were contacting the company's corporat office etc... They NEVER did anything else,but send another e-mail stating the claim has been closed due to no response from said corp./local company.The BBB is a JOKE!!! It may be a local problem,but I won't put any stock in them.This company BLATANTLY LIED about services needed,and NOTHING was done-did'nt even register my complaint!! What a bunch of malarkey!:sad2:
