Sue gave you probably the best tip of all when staying at the YC. Also, if you look at the link she provided you will get some really good information. If your room choice is GV, I personally recommend the "gazebo veiw" request becaue that gets you a great view and somewhat close to the "secret entrance". Look over the first two pages of this thread for some other useful information on the YC/BC. I hope you have a great time here!

We have a GV room at YC for $249 a night in June 2015

Thanks for the update Teena! We will be seeing you the first week in December. Will you be working that week?

Looking at the last week of April 2015......which would you recommend, to avoid the renovations BC or YC? Our friends are staying at BCV, but we will stay wherever the work is not being done. Any guesses/ suggestions?

As of now, I'll be working Sunday and Monday ... I don't have any trips planned in December. I absolutely love being at work during the holiday season!!!!!

I would be very surprised if work would not still be going on at the BC but like I said before, I haven't received anything definite as far as schedule. Last time it took a year at each resort and to me it sounds like this is even more extensive. Again, this is just my guess.

I would not worry about staying where there is rehab going on. They only do a section at a time and most people have stayed at a Disney resort during rehab and didn't even know it. I've stayed at the BC and the Grand Floridian during major rehab and was totally unaware of it. The noise work is done only during the day when people are at the parks or pools. And if you were at any Disney resort and for whatever reason the rehab bothered you and moving you to another location at the resort didn't fix the problem (you could be allergic to a material smell they were using or something), the resort will move you to another resort if they can't accommodate you. Rehab is an ongoing thing that happens at every Disney resort every so often and like I said, most of the time you wouldn't even realize it was going on.

I have to post because I am excited...

I have officially paid off my vacation! With work, kids' school & sports, and the chilly weather in full swing... I am counting down the seconds until Disney. :yay:

I can't wait to see BC in person. It looks so beautiful as I am obsessively looking at pictures. LOL. My kids don't know where we are staying and it is killing them. My daughter's only request is a Valcony (balcony). We will be there around her 7th birthday, so hoping to get an upper floor room for her. My boys will LOVE SAB. I'm excited for the walk to Epcot and HS. My husband will be in misery. LOL. He's not a Disney fan. He is a good sport and will have fun, it's just not his favorite place. He'd rather be riding thrilling roller coasters.

Anyway, I've babbled enough. I just wanted to share my excitement. Now I need to start planning for fast passes. Elsa and Anna are #1 on my fast pass goal list. Fingers crossed. DD will be wearing her Elsa dress. :cloud9:

I heard that when Mariah Carey was staying at AKL, she had her dogs with her. I believe she was at Disney World to perform for a TV special. Any possibility there's a special guest near you?

Here right now.

There's a very yappy dog on our floor, sounds too small to be a service dog, which is odd as I thought it was pet free?!

Anybody seen Pluto lately?? :confused3
Just sayin.... :rolleyes1

Hey everyone! My mom is in town and I wanted to treat her to one night at Disney and I'm torn. I originally thought GF bc she's never stayed there and it's just her and I (girls night!) but that's not showing as an option for tomorrow night..last minute right?! So I thought why not try YC/BC. She has stayed at YC and enjoyed it but I was thinking about trying BC for a change. She's arriving around 4pm tomorrow and we talked about going to dinner at Captain's Grill, maybe Frozen fireworks, and then Epcot for a half day on Sunday before I take her to my brother's apt. Any thoughts on which to choose? It would just be a standard room. I also debated on not even doing a deluxe and just a moderate but she mentioned both Captains Grill and Epcot haha…I would sit at the pool and enjoy the early afternoon until I have to get her! ….any thoughts would be great!! Thanks!

New member here have been lurking for months. We will be at BC November 9-16!!! So excited. Please add me to the list!!

Question for vets of BC if you want to be at HS at rope drop at 9 what time should you go out to wait for the boat?

Thank you Teena, for the thorough response. Since we have stayed YC/CL in the past maybe we will try BC.....especially since DD's BFF is staying BCV.:goodvibes

What should I request for our YC GV room? I would like to be close to the end of YC near SAB so we have a short walk to SAB and BCM. Are the GV rooms there?

The closest exit door to the main pool and the Marketplace would be the main lobby door. So you could request to be near the elevator and that would put you near the exit. :)
