Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

party:

One week until our awesome 6th annual Beach and Yacht Club DISMeet.

We are still working out the exact details (where and when) but it will be next Sunday night, Aug 30, starting around 5:30 pm.

I will be notifying folks by PM with the final plans sometime before Wednesday since that is when I will be leaving for Florida.

In addition to me (natebenma), Disneymomx7, HockeymomR, NinjaMom, Nannette, TeenaS, we have several others who have expressed interest in being there, so I will get you the details.

It you have not let me know that you may be interested in attending, please send me a PM. It is no problem if you are not able to make it last minute. We all understand that "Family Happens" and plans don't always work out the way we expect.

I am so excited to see some dear friends again and to meet some of you who have become a part of this group!

:grouphug:

I am soooo jealous, but at the same time happy you can all get together. We'll be there in spirit, for sure!

I know you found your info but I wanted to tell you I absolutely LOVE H2O products for my hair! I have naturally curly(I'm Puerto Rican) and my hair does not frizz when I use it! I usually only wash(shampoo) once a week but I use conditioner everyday and I also leave it in. I have to get extra conditioner because my hair is long and so are my daughters, especially my oldest(hers is almost to her butt and it is like a horse mane with curls).

You will love the products!

I'm hoping at least my oldest daughter will say those words! I love EPCOT, it took me a while when I was younger to appreciate it! Don't get me wrong, I love MK, but EPCOT is amazing!!!

Tarak, I wanted to ask you(or anyone else that is at Disney right now),
How are the crowds right now in the parks?
I'm thinking maybe 2017 we will go at the end of August. I don't mind the heat/humidity(more time to swim), but I hate long waits! I would love to be at Disney right before I go back to work for the school year, oh yeah I'm sure the kids would love it too.:rotfl:

The crowds were okay. I follow easywdw to decide wherewe should go. Every time we bucked that trend, the crowds were higher. Our schools always start the last week in August, so the last two summers, we've been there the week before. Things were manageable as long as I had a good plan in place. My friends who've been there the last week said it's practically dead, so you should be good to go!

About the characters not talking... Ninja Mom has been known to tell her children that Mickey and pals were out late last night drinking at the bar and they have really bad headaches so it's better that they not talk at all lest they open their mouths and a hideous morning breath seeps out and gasses unsuspecting children into unconsciousness.

Since my brother has threatened to have me arrested if I provide that explanation to HIS children I tell them that Mickey and the gang have to rest their voice since they are constantly singing and shouting to the audience during the stage shows and parades. When we went to see Talking Mickey in the MK, the first thing that I said when I introduced him to my Nephew was that I was glad he was able to talk now that his voice was rested from all the shows. Mickey was affirming this by saying Yes, yes and my Nephew's eyeballs POPPED out of his head. This is the same child who believes that we can catch the golf ball on Soarin while his younger sister rolls her eyeballs and sighs at us.

See - I just tell them Ursula stole their voices and they have to work it out with the Sea Witch to get things straightened out...

:thanks: I am in Pennsylvania...so midnight EST it is! I'm feeling nauseous worrying that I will some how screw up. I wish they had a mock practice site to play with. I know this is not a "fastpass" thread...but another quick question...is the strategy to first book fast passes your last day and work backwards through your vacation?

I had NO problems going first to last day...everything was open for my dates, including 7Dwarfs (got one for all the days we will be at MK) and Anna & Elsa. Now, I wasn't interested in the Frozen Princesses, and didn't book those, so I'm not sure what the time frames were. If you are looking to do A&E, you may want to start with the day you want to do that one, and fill in the others after that. You will be presented with 4 options for the 3 attractions you want....select the one that has the most important one around the time you want it, and then change the other two if they don't work for you. You will get the hang of it quickly!

You asked and Ninja Mom delivers! Here is a sneak peek at this month's Mr. September. He's single (obviously) so start lining up ladies!!

Where on earth did you find a picture of my husband in 15 years?

I called today to request a full balcony, because I forgot to do so during my initial reservation, and apparently I broke the system in doing so, LOL. I was on hold for like 15 minutes while the CM called guest services to try to straighten it out. That request almost wiped out our entire reservation. Way to go Disney IT.

Yes! That is how I did it. I looked at guides on wdwprepschool's website and also touring plans and it was easier than I expected. Other than Anna and Elsa and 7 dwarfs none of the fp's were difficult to get. One tip -- you pick the ride and they give you different options. Pick the best option for the most important fast pass, then move on and adjust the times later. When you modify later just modify the time for that specific FP+. Otherwise it replaces the whole batch of 3. This way, get the best time for your Anna and Elsa meet and then tweak the times on the other reservations later. And I started with my last day first (or your last day at MK first if not the same). This dashboard on the DIBB website forecasts availability of fastpasses so you can tell in advance what is booking up and how urgent your week looks before your fp+ window opens up.

When I booked mine (for the week of 9/12), A&E and 7DMT were already taken for earlier in the week. Everything else was available. For the days I was going at the end of my trip I got the fp+'s by selecting those first and I noticed twenty minutes later those days got booked up too.

Good to know! I was worried about crowds when my parents don't come that may be a nice option. My DM hates the heat! I'm hoping April will be cooler for her than Septemebr but not so cool we can't swim. LOL
I used to follow TP's but the last trip I tried easywdw and I really liked it. I still cross reference but try and stick to one site.

Thanks!

I also like easywdw for the snark. Having ridden the Little Mermaid ride six times over the last few days, I can appreciate poking fun at The Mouse.

Just add some Mickey ears and ooh la la!

I pity the poor Mickey ears that would have to sit atop that head. No worries though because he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would spring for a pair in light of that fancy beer he's drinking.

LOL! No wonder crowds are low in Sept!!

And here we thought it was that magical deal!

Where on earth did you find a picture of my husband in 15 years?

He's all mine so keep your hands off you randy trollip! I know he's overwhelmingly seductive in those dollar store boxer shorts but you need to find your own hunk of burning love. Perhaps Mr. October is foot loose and fancy free for ya. Here's HIS glamour shot:

Apparently he has a thing for flags but he is rumored to be a great dancer.

Thank you Jeanne...I hope I do figure it out quickly!! My nerves probably won't settle down till I actually have this done and out of the way. After that.....smooooth sailing...*knock on wood* ;)

I will definitely check that link out...thank you so much! I feel like a college student cramming for finals! HA!

I was curious to what DIBB stood for...Thanks for this link...I will be checking it out as well!

What does IPO stand for? We're staying CL in a couple weeks and I keep seeing this mentioned. Thanks!

Itinerary Planning Office (I think)- they are the folks who will make advanced dinner reservations for you if you want and answer other questions. I have the email in Post 12 on Page 1.

:)

These are the instructions I put together for making Fast Passes for the groups going on our class trip, but probably more instructive is the link I have that shows step by step, with pictures, how to make FP reservations. If anyone sees anything that is not correct in my list, please let me know.

Making New Fast Pass Reservations for a Group

  1. Sign in- look for Welcome *** at top, center (in blue)

  2. Chose My Disney Experience (top right)

  3. Under Plan and Manage, select Fast Pass Plus

  4. Click Fast Pass Plus/New Day

  5. Select ALL (top, blue) - click on Green Next Button

  6. Select Park then Day then click on Green Next Button

  7. Click on 3 attractions. Note: You may only choose Soarin OR Test Track at EP and Toy Story OR RockNRollercoaster at Hollywood studios. .

  8. You will get four options for times- you can select the set that is most preferable to you. You will have an opportunity to change times based on what is available if you wish. Hint: If you know the times you want, then select times away from your preferred times and then modify the times to what you want.

  9. Click on Done to set the Fast Pass times

  10. If you want to modify the times, start with the one for the most popular attraction (for example, RockNRollerCoaster or Expedition Everest)

  11. Click on Modify

  12. There will be an Arrive Between drop-down option. Select the new time you want. After you see the green checkmark, click on *UPDATE* to select the new time.

  13. Repeat with other two times if you want to change them.

  14. Count the people listed in group and compare to Walking Group Spreadsheet

  15. Close

  16. Signout

Out of curiosity, I e-mailed IPO to see if I could get any more details on the YC's front drive construction. Was advised it should be completed mid-September and the regular bus stop will resume at that time. Just wanted to pass that along! :)

Thanks for that info!

:goodvibes:
