I have been meaning to update this for the best part of a week. Our internet has all but given up on us. The connection keeps dropping on us and if we have a connection, it is as slow as molasses. The plan had been to start to look for alternatives after this trip, but after we had no internet at all for most of the weekend, I went ahead today to cancel our existing service and signed up for fibre optic broadband. This will installed next week Wednesday and until then we have to make do with the awful service we have at the moment.
Still, with my online time limited, I sorted out most of the odds and ends that still needed to be taken care of.
My magnets are now done and the documents printed. The only documents I am still missing are the eticket receipts for the flights back as the tickets have not been issued yet.
I bought the photo package. This cost the same as the one for our Transatlantic. I think $249 for a 24 night cruise is amazing value.
I got a 25% money off code for an online retailer that I occasionally use and I got some new swim suites. I figure I will get plenty of use out of them. I also got some sandals in a sale that are lightweight, practical, comfortable and still kind of cute.
There has been a slight change of plan for Suva. We had wanted to do the Jewel of Fiji tour on the first day, but this was fully booked. After messaging backwards and forwards with the tour operator, I was happy to book this for the second day instead. In a way, this probably works out better.
One of the things that took me the longest was to decide on the jewellery that I wanted to take. I am not sure why this took me so long as thinking about it, most of them were really a given.
I had no doubt whatsoever that my beloved rose gold pendant would make the cut. I have no idea where the chain is at the moment, but I either find it before the trip or I will just have to get a Gold by the Inch chain on the ship. Either way, it is coming.
I also was never really in any doubt that my Heart of the Ocean necklace would come:
The third that was an absolute given is the beautiful Swarovski necklace that I got as a leaving gift from my colleagues at Emirates. When I saw it for the first time, my reaction was that I have just the gown to go with this:
I also was always planning to take the South Pacific set that Kythryne made for me last year:
Apart from those, two other pieces of jewellery made the cut. Kythryne made this for our Hawaii cruise in 2012 and it was really an obvious choice:
The last piece jumped out at me over the weekend and I had to have it:
I think I have ended up with something that matches ever dress I am going to pack in terms of style and colour scheme. I am pretty happy with the outcome.
