Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Did anyone see the article about the Disney Dream cruise ship hitting the pier :sail:What ship were Dee and Teena taking their cruise on?

Eww!

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to make a take out order from Crew's Cup? After a long day in Epcot we are thinking of grabbing a to go dinner and lounging in our room and hopefully watching some football. Not really wanting to sit in a restaurant.

Here's what we have done. Went to the bar, placed our order and ask for a "to-go" box. When it's delivered we move the contents from plate to the to-go box and we're off. I don't think they will package it for you behind the scenes, but I might be wrong.

We did not ask for a to-go box like the poster above (a good idea!) but were told they don't do take out orders. The to-go box sounds like a great solution though.

Crew's Cup Lounge is not allowed to accept "to go" orders; a few years ago, I was not feeling well, and I tried to do "to go" at both Crew's Cup and Beaches and Cream, and was shot down. The selection at the Marktplace is very minimal. However, if you don't mind stopping over at the Dolphin, Picabu will do orders to go. The food is very good, reasonably-priced (they even offer AAA discounts), and there is a big selection. It took less than ten minutes for my order to be ready.

When the Ale and Compass Lounge was still in operation, they did "to go" orders, from a smaller Crew's Cup menu. The food was nicely packaged in a black box and included the usual utensils and napkins. The burger was delicious. It will be interesting to see if the same will be offered with the new set up.

So we will be staying at the Beach Club in 2018! We’ve been to Disney World twice before and I have wanted to stay at the BC since our first visit in 2013. Since we are usually a party of 6 it’s been too costly for us to stay so we’ve always gone to AoA. Next year we will be a party of 5 so off to the BC we go.
I am super excited! I just hope we don’t get spoiled.

We always stay at BC and this year we decided to change it up and we stayed at Poly. Although Poly had its benefits, we definitely missed BC. You will become spoiled. It's a great place to be.

From my experience this is correct and the way to do it to get a take out!

Returned from 8 days at the Yacht Club on Thursday. We were in room 3150 (GV) with a view of the gazebo. I am working on a trip report, but in the meantime I wanted to post the quick pics I took of our room & location.

Talking about being spoiled, listen to this point of view. We have stayed at all levels of Disney resorts and still do vary it up. But I really do not think that I will ever be able to bring myself to stay at the Boardwalk. There is no way I could stay there and have to look over at SAB on a daily basis and hate not being able to get in. Maybe in the dead of winter, if it was like no warmer than 19 degrees every day!

Any repellant at the hotels? We are not planning on going to the parks at night but hanging around hotel/boardwalk.

Looking for some help from all you good folks. We are Disney regulars but stay at the BWI or the GF. We are planning a short F&W festival trip (4 nights). This was a total last minute idea so a couple months ago all I could find was a room at the Dolphin. I have been religiously checking a couple times a day and just pounced on a 1 bedroom at the Beach Club Villas. Years ago we stayed at the YC and we often stay at the BWI but never the Beach club and never at a DVC room. What should I be asking for as far as room choices? I am paranoid about first floor rooms so that is a no (hate snakes)! Do they all have balconies? Very excited about this I just don't know much about these rooms. TIA!!

Edited to add: Also wondering if you can see any fireworks from these rooms? Are rooms booked with cash instead of points usually a certain view or is it luck of the draw?

All BCV's have a balcony.
You will be spoiled by the one bedroom Villa. You will have a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. You can pack less and throw a load in anytime.
Room views are very basic. The Villas were built after the hotel in the Cast Member parking lot. There are no special views. Some of the woods view rooms have a view of the high Illuminations, but it is nothing special.
You should request higher floor and then either near elevator, or woods view etc.
Enjoy

You will get spoiled. We have stayed at Disney 10 times, at all different resorts. This past trip, I finally got my way and we stayed at BC. Man were we spoiled, and loved this place... all of us except maybe my son (who even at 18 loves the value resorts because he likes the hustle and bustle and how it just feels like Disney to him). Now it's going to be hard to stay anywhere else. Even my hubby who is a strong AKL lover, loved this hotel's proximity to Epcot. He enjoyed hopping over during Food and Wine to use up some of our snack credits whenever he wanted. I'm surprised there are still lobster rolls available for others.
I can't wait to hear how you like it. Enjoy!!!!
