Official Wine and Dine 2017 thread

Just to add to what Ariel484 said, here's from the event guide with the codes you'll use. I do it after the race, usually sometime that afternoon.

PHOTOS
Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be on the course and at the finish line taking your photos during the race. Smile and make sure your bib is in view on the front of your shirt! Race photos will be available to view at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com (select Walt Disney World) and on the My Disney Experience app within 24 hours of the event. To link your photos, you will need to enter the 11-digit RaceID followed by your 5-digit bib number. If your bib number is less than 5 digits, please add zeros at the beginning of your bib number to complete the 16-digit code. You may link up to a maximum of five runDisney bib numbers for each race.
See below for RaceIDs; replace the x’s with your bib number to complete the code:
KIDS RACES 2017-WINE-KIDx-xxxx
5K 2017-WINE-D5Kx-xxxx
10K 2017-WINE-10Kx-xxxx
HALF MARATHON 2017-WINE-HLFx-xxxx
Editing my above post with the example code so as not to confuse people! :)

For example...
bib number 4505 for the half would be 2017-WINE-HLF0-4505
bib number 21505 for the half (challenge runner) would be 2017-WINE-HLF2-1505

It would be really cool if they had QR codes on the backs of the race bibs that you could just scan in with your phone, like the PhotoPass cards. :)

Does anyone know if you can still purchase party tickets? I just realized that I never bought one for DH (or DM, whoever finally decides is going with me!)

You can still buy them through the runDisney website. When you get to check out it says you can pick them up at Will Call at WWOS. So I guess that's a yes.....

So I guess anyone could buy a ticket to the party then right? Don't have to runner or runner family/friend?

There is no check to make sure you are with a runner on the party ticket, so anyone could go. The event is just geared toward runners and their groups.

I have flown twice this past month from Las Vegas to Detroit and I swear every TSA agent had a different rule they wanted to enforce. Someone was pulling their laptop out of their bag and the TSA agent saw a bag of pretzels in their bag and said "Oh you need to take those out, too." then I noticed the girl behind me had protein bars that she didn't take out and her bag went through screening fine. Two security checks didn't care that I didn't pull my Kindle out, one did. One security check made us put our shoes directly on the line and not in a bin. It's like the TSA agents wake up and pick one thing to harp about that day and go for it. There is no consistency. I keep telling my husband that our carry-ons have to be clothes only, I am not giving the TSA any reason to mess with me.

For what it's worth, I've read that random enforcement of various aspects of their protocols is considered a good security practice, as it keeps people from gaming the system by learning what they consistently do and don't care about...

If I serve you a Mimosa at my house for brunch it's just champagne. Hahaha.

I'll join in the brunch too! Sounds again like you're my kind of people!

Pack your peanut butter, granola bars, and bagels in your checked bags. Apparently TSA is checking food items closer now. They're going to really wonder what gels are. :)

Last time I carried the bagels on but checked the peanut butter. This time I only will bring 4 PB cups so I might put them in the liquids bag. I have a box of luna bars too so maybe one will go in the checked luggage and one in the carry on. I am flying out of BWI so no clue how it will be.

I've had them confiscate (and toss ) an unopened Nutella before.....

Losing an upopened Nutella is a tragedy!

The holiday turkey sandwich is SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

My favorite!!!!!

Apologize if this is a question that's been answered a thousand times. If my family pre-purchases memory maker...can we get both my husband and my race photos included in that? Will we be able to just use the bib # format for pulling up our race photos and then link it over to memory maker/download them?

I did the one day purchase at Disneyland for Tink half, but have never done it for a WDW race.

I'm thankful BFF still has an AP so that I can get my race pictures. It's the first time in a long time that I haven't had one and it's weird.

I will say last year we had 6 running the 5k and could put all 6 in, but the 2 of us on my MDE account are AP holders so maybe that's why I could do more than 5?!? I just know I've read limit of 5 per race somewhere. Then we had 2 for the 10k & 3 for the half all on there too.
Can more than one person (or MDE account) link the same bib in their Memory Maker?

I kind of doubt they are that organized. It's probably just the usual lack of understanding or knowing their own rules.

I'm in the opposite end of the spectrum. I finally decided to get an AP again. So it will be kind weird to actually go into the parks during normal hours and not keep busy with resorts, Disney Springs, outlet shopping and visiting friends/family in the greater Orlando area.....But FoP...so yeah.

Fun! I do have military tickets so at least I can play in the park, but I've promised to slow down on the Disney for a bit and do some local vacations now that we live up north. It kills me, but such is life! My wallet will be happy! LOL! I'll be back though for W&D next year so I'll reevaluate then.

Question for the Beach Club experts, was hoping for a breakfast sandwich from the Marketplace Saturday after 10k before heading out to parks but wife's friend who is there now says options are limited. Just wondering if anyone knows any different or if the menu on the app/website is not accurate. Thought I'd try since there are many BC devotees here and we are first timers there. Thanks.

It looks like Disney Springs restaurants typically open at 11am, do you think they would open early after the half for those of us hungry and want a quick meal. if im done with the race by 9 im thinking i could easily be there before 11 and i would probably be willing to eat lunch if stores are open afterwards.

If you don't mind waiting until tomorrow, I have to go by there in the morning for a meeting and I can take a quick snap of the current menu! I'm just all the way at the front of Epcot close to my truck, so I'd rather not walk back to take a look if it can wait a day. :flower1:
