to add to the list above at AK the pandora rides lets ECV in and most of the time the lines are an hour+ long so by the time you are done the rain has stoped. Before you get to the parks, read up on which attractions are inside and take more than ten minute to see. That way if a sudden FL storm comes up, you know where to hid from the rain. My rain favorites are
EPCOT-sea, land, and American Adventure. Scooter goes inside with you. Magic Kingdom Mickey's Philoharmic, Monster's Laugh Floor, and Singing Bears let the scooters inside too. In HS only Muffits and Toy Story have a long dry waiting area which let scooters enter. At AK, you can sometimes take your scooter inside for the shows like Lyon King and Nemo. As was previously suggested, stores and restaurants work well too.
We take a clear plastic garbage bag to use over the tiller. The clear plastic protects the tiller but still allows you to set the controls and basket. Then we cover the seat with a poncho. If you leave your scooter outside, push the back down and then cover it with the poncho.
Where do you find the clear garbage bags?
I just wanted to mention that I, too, was nervous about my scooter in the rain. Last week, it rained at least once every day of our trip. But surprisingly, I NEVER saw an ECV that was stalled out because of the rain. I saw many people still motoring along, wearing their ponchos, carrying an umbrella (to keep themselves dry, not their scooter). In the first couple minutes of my first brush with rain, I religiously got out my clear shower cap for the tiller and the poncho for covering as much of the ECV as possible. Then I looked around and saw uncovered ECVs driving thru the rain. Makes me wonder-has anyone had problems with wet controls?
