Ok. I slept on it, and I'm still feeling some things.
*SPOILERS*
*SPOILERS*
1. I know for a fact that they shot on location in many of the areas. However, the CGI was a little to much in places.
2. Cut with the comedy. Please! It's nice to have a little. However, the comedy they are putting in TFA and now this movie is just one and done comedy for me. I haven't enjoyed seeing the comedy in TFA whenever I have watched it again.
3. What in the world is going to happen to Leia? She didn't die...and *BIG SPOILER*...The only character from the original trilogy still alive.
4. Mark Hamill was great in this movie for what he had to portray. However, does anyone really think Luke Skywalker was not himself for the majority of the movie?
5. I don't know if I liked the whole "lets talk to another person on another planet thing." The only time that was cool was the very end for obvious reasons, but I won't give that away. Like, whatever happened to the whole "I will go to the person and they will sense the force type of a thing and endanger the mission?"
6. *SPOILER* As the movie went on, I pretty much knew Ben Kenobi or Yoda were going to pop up at some point. Like, who was really going to talk Luke Skywalker into helping the Resistance?
7. The Porgs are so cute!!! I also really liked the Volptex's.
8. *SPOILER* Are we going to have another kid?!?!?! Goodness! I did not like that ending at all. They should have just left it with the resistance escaping.
9. *SPOILER* How did Rey get back on the Millennium Falcon and to Chewie after escaping Kylo Ren?
10. *SPOILER* I really liked the sunset at the end bringing back memories of episode IV. However, is that the best way for Luke to leave us?
There were many parts of this movie that just did not make sense. The cohesiveness of telling the story was jumbled in many parts. Even though I did enjoy the movie, I do not know how many times I will go see it again. I'll probably see it one more time at least.
I will also say this...If Rian Johnson is being thought of doing a whole trilogy on his own, I am now against that idea.
