Hi everyone. I am heading to Walt Disney World in July, and I will be on property for the last day of the Round of 16 (7/3) and the Quarterfinals (7/6, 7/7) of the World Cup. I am a huge soccer fan, and the World Cup is a tournament I look forward to every 4 years. As the tournament gets closer to the finish, usually the matches are really good, and I might not want to miss a match depending on what the match-up is. I will most likely be in the parks for the morning matches, but the afternoon matches might be doable to take an afternoon break to a resort or Disney Springs.
Here is some information that might help you with potential advice:
1) I am staying at Saratoga Springs Resort. I might be willing to go back to my room and watch it depending on what channel the games will be on (either FOX or FS1) or make the short walk to Disney Springs.
2) I might also watch some of these matches while in the parks on my iPad using Disney wifi (Yay! ). I know that isn't ideal, but sometimes that might just work the best with whatever I decide for my final plans.
3) I am willing to travel from a theme park to a different resort or Disney Springs to watch a match.
4) Please DO NOT recommend ESPN. I will not go there.
5) Are there any places having special World Cup watch parties like at Disney Springs or different resorts?
Any advice that you would give for some of your favorite places to watch a sporting event on property would be much appreciated.
