Was talking to a customer who works in central shops they hadn’t heard of anything set to happen pending the merger but he just heard about some of the technology patents for upcoming attractions namely the new Star Wars hotel and he said how insane it’s going to be with its immersion

I looked at a list of IP from Fox, and Rio is one I could see them using right away in the Brazil pavilion.

I also noticed a few of the non-Marvel IPs Universal has in their parks. It makes me wonder if Disney will use those IPs in a trade to get back more Marvel characters or change the current contract.

OR are they in a bigger bind if Fox licensed them to Universal like Marvel did?

That could be...it'd be nice if they could use more Marvel in WDW, buy it is a two edged sword. It'd probably be shoeuoshoe into Epcot, like GotG, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

They still will do something just how much is the question.

Do doubt. But:

definitely sad to see ... though with all the new additions people will still flock there around that time no matter the level of "celebration" they do. But can see this taking things like a new nighttime parade off the table
That's the one issue I care most about.

The other problem is that yes the crowds will flock more and although there are new things there may not be enough new to disperse the flocks... I think no one has any real idea of what Star Wars is going to do to the parks and wait times across WDW.

Dumb. Boooooooo. I care about approximately ZERO of Fox’s assets. What I care about is investment in the parks, Disney classics, and new Disney with the potential to become classic (Frozen, Moana, etc). Sad day for me.
It's apparent that the top dogs, and various other animals, running Disney are just using the profits from the parks to fund their real interests.

In their defense film, TV, streaming are much larger for Disney than the parks.
I'm tentatively optimistic about the streaming service they plan to launch. If it was a netflixesque platform that contained all or most of their film/short catalog that would be of high interest to me. If it is a space to push the disney channel/purchased IP stuff (with the exception of Henson) it will not be something I invest in. Seeing as that might bust their vault/hard to access film thing, I don't want to get my hopes up.

I think it will be a good mix. They are developing a good amount of new content and will add a good amount of existing content.

Yes.
That's my point.
They are funneling the available income assets into those projects and squeezing the parks to death.
The much touted Star Wars project is a drop in the bucket compared to what they just agreed to pay for Fox.
Imagine the expansion that could have taken place in Florida if they'd used those monies to properly utilize the huge property that Walt bought.
He made it clear in the 60's that his goal was to have an ever expanding park system that could be enjoyed by anyone.
The Execs at Disney should be forced to watch every single episode of Walt's TV shows from the 50's and 60's. (I did)
He used those shows as a sounding board to present his goals for the Disney parks projects.
Those goals have been kicked to the curb by the current Disney Management.

OK.
Rant over. :)

Well they can save $$$ by NOT repeating what they did for the 25th I can do without that hot pink castle monstrosity
Just shows how we all differ in our likes and dislikes - we were there for the 25th and thought that the castle was amazing - loved it!
