I love credit cards so much!

This is AMAZING! I just applied for the Hilton Aspire card. Once I've met the MSR on that I'll go for the personal one. Dh also has MR points we can transfer to my Hilton account if necessary (weird that it didn't ask for my Hilton number -- I don't have one, but thought it might ask).

Thanks so much :)
Just to clarify - you do realize that the Hilton Aspire IS a personal card right? Did you mean you'll go for the business one next?

I've been waiting on that little line and it's not showing up. It's driving me crazy because that was supposed to be my confirmation.

I also blew up a client's website yesterday and had to resurrect it. It was a secondary, we're not using it, just keeping the files updated and actually forwarding to a different site, but still. Deleted the wrong file and I had to rebuild it, which was thankfully rather easy. I'm just double checking everything with a second person(s) for the rest of the year.

Yeah, until you see that I'd be cautious about the spend. Do you need the points from the spend to make the CP, or will both bonuses do it all? If just the bonus does it all then you could do some spend now but have to be diligent about literal spend and not take into account any returns or credits - so you can't go by the statement/current balance when doing your calculations. While you wait for that little line to update, I'd check the statement section until you have a statement cut. If you have a statement ready that should mean you're in the clear and will have the closing date listed to confirm. (With a due date of 1/2 I'd have guessed you have a statement closing date of the 5th, in which case your next statement would close on 1/5 and you'd be all good. But if you don't have a statement from 12/5, I'd be concerned with that guess.)

Did you apply using DH's referral link?

Your DH's MR points would transfer to HH points into his HH account, then he can transfer those to your HH account (or you can transfer your HH points to DH's HH account) to pool your points together.

Quick question: If you had the SW Premier for several years and upgraded it to the Priority, does that upgrade reset your 2 year bonus wait time?

Not seeing it is what was bothering me. There is a statement for 12/5, I just didn't notice it somehow. I never look at statements, just watch my balances/charges daily, yes daily. It's 50RR and Biz is 60RR so we'll be fine. Instead of paying bills on pay day I'll spread them out and pay closer to statement close date/bill due date. I'd like to get these points asap, but obviously bonus in 2019, so we can use them for a possible spur of the moment weekend getaway between our birthdays. This should be a fairly easy spend to meet.

Ok, the Chase website is a little slow to update sometimes, but since you got the statement on 12/5 you should be good now. :)

@Lain I love your story, too, especially since we'll be flying BA 1st Christmas Day (yes, First v. Business since I'm consoling myself DD won't be with us) and on Boarding Area there's an article about BA's Christmas movies-specifically mentioning The Holiday. So I'll now be thinking of your DD in my BA pjs watching "her" movie.:) Love Actually is our house's favorite Christmas movie, so hoping that will be on their entertainment system as well. Who needs sleep when you can watch Christmas movies:)

Aaah. That sounds lovely, as does your visit to Scotland. Alas there are no "jammies" in business class, so we didn't get any. The movies sound great. I can't really sleep on airplanes anyway, so a good selection of movies would be a nice thing. Have a fantastic trip!

Fun story time.

We were watching The Holiday this past weekend (love Nancy Meyers movies!), and my budding little flyer was stunned at the scene where Cameron Diaz's character is on her flight from LA to London in a lie flat first class seat. "Wow, her airplane seat is so big she can lie down and sleep in it," says my 43" little lady who never fails to curl up in her own seat and sleep on one of her parent's laps....
I think we'll have a reverse @calypso726 situation where I voluntarily sit in coach while my ladies are up in first.

As for Cameron Diaz's character in The Holiday, I doubt she booked her flight with miles but you never know.

My family loves "The Holiday" too! We have Christmas fettuccine on Christmas Eve every year. I mean, Cameron Diaz's character did have a legit small business and was a workaholic. I'm sure she could meet all her MSRs no problem and probably had a huge stash of points she never got around to redeeming...

Dosh has updated it's terms:

Thank you for being a Dosher! Dosh is growing quickly, and it’s all thanks to you. We are emailing you today to let you know that we have updated our Terms of Service.

Starting 12/15/18, in order to make a transfer to bank accounts or PayPal, Doshers must have had their first cash back redemption at an in-store or online Dosh merchant.

We are making this change as part of our mission to move billions of dollars to millions of Doshers and to make sure you get the most out of your Dosh experience.

We’re continuing to add offers at exciting places like Chevron & Texaco stations, Sephora, Pier 1, Walmart, BarkBox and more - and we're working hard every day to bring you thousands more cash back offers.

Thanks so much for being a part of Dosh. Happy Doshing!

Hey @Lain - remind me again - what is the latest day this month I could apply for a Schwab Plat and triple dip the credit? I assume that's coming soooon if it hasn't already passed.

I don’t understand what the bolded text means. I still am slightly under $25 so have not redeemed yet.

@Lain and @calypso726 I got an e-mail a while ago that I was approved for the Hilton Aspire! Also got an 3-mail from Hilton to set up my account (which I've done).

Next step is to start hitting the MSR (which will be covered by the ABD payment due late January / early February for Japan).

Really hoping you applied through a referral to get that extra bonus!

I’m thinking 12/20? Maybe as late as the 22nd? Figure 2-3 days to get the card in the mail since the Plat is expedited (are there any other hold ups on the Charles Schwab side?), but allowing for possibly no delivery on Sunday and the 25th. Then 2-4 days for the reimbursement to credit. You don’t need your card in hand to select your airline benefit. And you can look up your card number once added to your Amex account, before you have the card in hand, but I don’t know if that’ll give you the cvv you might need to make an airline purchase.

I don't understand it either - I was hoping someone else here would know! :duck:

I sort of read it as "If you haven't earned any Dosh by 12/15, you're out of luck" but surely that must be wrong. Otherwise I'd say we're witnessing the slow end of this program.

I may try one more time for that Schwab Plat next week. AND if the popup isn't lifted (even though it seems without the popup they may enforce some crap) I may just go for it to cash out my existing URs and triple dip.
