Did you only buy a Disney GC? And did only pay with your Red card?I went to Target yesterday to buy Disney GC for my daughters Easter basket and I didn't get the 5% red card discount. Did I miss it that Target is no longer giving the discount on gift cards?

Just trying to assess your data point.
That is definitely new... and surprising... and disappointing.I bought a bag of Easter candy, a pack of tissues and 3 $50 Gift Cards with my Target Red Card, only got the 5% off the candy and tissues
I just bought my monthly cruise payment GC on line from Target.com last week. No problems at all with the 5% and it was the only thing I purchased. It seems the Target website is still offering 5% off gift cards, though.
I called customer service and spoke with the gift card department and she told me that Target has never given the 5% discount for gift cards, ever. I told her that I had purchased gift cards for many years and always got the discount. I also mentioned that you could buy them online with the discount and she told me I was wrong. Asked to speak a supervisor and she informed me she "was" the supervisor. Very upset with target right now.

She claims it has been a mistake that for over a year, I've gotten 5% off the Disney gift cards. Something is fishy.
Sounds like Target just re-coded their system this past week to stop giving the 5% in-store. It's been available as in-store for a lot longer than a year - I've been getting 5% off for at least 4 years, and I'm pretty sure it was around awhile before that.
