Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

The only issue we saw right now is kids wanting to hold out for a specific character decal as they are all different and there is no way to choose

I was wondering if that would be an issue - hopefully going forward not a huge deal, and to be honest, I would rather be in one without a decal so maybe even lets me get ahead a bit if others want to wait

Just from watching the videos the announcement were irritating. The womens voice was tolerable for some reason the chime was the worst. I hope they take the chime out. LOL I decided from watching the the video I wouldn't take the skyliner to Epcot. I don't think I could take another 4-5 minutes of it.

opposite for me - I liked the chime but found some of what the voice was saying to be annoying ... especially the "wave to your adoring fans" when leaving DHS

Yeah, that was the only one that I thought was over the top. Some Imagineer got a little carried away.

I would expect the following bus service at Caribbean Beach during normal Skyliner operation:

CBR all stops - Magic Kingdom
CBR all stops - Animal Kingdom - Blizzard Beach
CBR internal - All stops (including Skyliner)
CBR Port Royale only - Pop Century - Art of Animation - Riviera - Epcot shared bus
CBR Port Royale only - Pop Century - Art of Animation - Riviera - Hollywood Studios shared bus
CBR all stops - Disney Springs - Typhoon Lagoon
If there are shared buses to DHS & Epcot, there's no guarantee that they will go from CBR to Pop & AoA. They could just as easily stop at Pop & AoA first (probably more likely, as circular routes more often run counterclockwise to avoid left turns). And since they'd be originating at a park hub, they could be dispatched routes, rather than dedicated shuttle buses circling around.

That line, though, is actually a throwback line from the very early years of Disney's MGM Studios. It was a staple of the CMs as you left the park.

Steve
I know that when they had corporate events at Studios, they would post shifts for cm's to come in for a couple of hours to cheer the attendees as they walked into the park on a red carpet.

Blimey. Just watched Craig’s video. Forget the mode of transport if I have to listen to that announcement every couple of minutes I’ll jump out!
Yeah, I was hoping there would be some great Disney background music playing while you ride. Silence and intermittent announcements are not very magical. Hopefully that changes soon!

Yep. I've been at a few of those corporate events!

I love the Pop bus loop! It would be great if it played quietly on the Pop/AoA run to/from CB. My DD not be of the same opinion if I'm singing the Lavern and Shirley theme song or others. :)

The announcements and chimes give me monorail vibes, I like it.

Yeah, I found it really similar to the monorail tbh. The announcements chimed in when we were approach a destination with fun facts. I didn't find it irritating. The rest of the ride was really peaceful actually.

Overall I think there are pros and cons to every mode of mass transportation at Disney, including the minnie-van. I think the Skyliner is a step forward and allows for more variety.

I rode today. All three lines. I’m very noise sensitive and didn’t feel the announcements and ring tone were loud

I’m most concerned about drunk people swinging the gondolas. Are they easily moved with body weight?
