The Plastiq thing hurts me though, soooo maybe I will be looking for something to keep paying off that auto loan in the new year. Of course the day before that came out I decided to try buying the last $400 I needed for DHs CIP MSR on Staples in MCGCs, because RMN had 10% back (which is pending!). And they haven't shipped yet and say expected Jan 2, and the pending charge has fallen off I can spend them organically if needed, but just annoying! Has me considering grabbing a few MCGCs at the grocery store this week though on the AMEXs to put towards the loan before the end of the year.

This is from my MSR Sunday post just before Christmas. OMG the saga these MCGCs have been. So I ordered them on Dec 16, and the Plastiq email came out Dec 17. Booo well they should come in time right? And DHs last day for his CIP MSR was Dec 27 so it should be fine. Uh no, realized when I posted this that Sunday the pending charge fell off! So I tell myself, I'll keep an eye on it and if it doesn't post by Christmas Eve I'll run and grab some GCs from the grocery store. Well of course I got caught up in Christmas festiviiteis, woke up on Dec 26 and thought to check... pending charge has fallen off AGAIN! And now I need $395 by Dec 27 for DHs CIP MSR So I jump on and make a Plastiq payment because those have always posted by the next day for me. Thankfully it worked, it actually posted as the 26th and when I got on on the 28th it said the SUB was pending. Phew!

My Staples order STILL just says order placed at this point, so I figure why not, let me try and cancel. If they haven't shipped and haven't been charged, this shouldn't be a big deal. After getting the run around from the reps on chat and on the phone, the best I got was a stop delivery request. Seriously I wanted to beat my head against the desk talking to them, they DID NOT listen/read. I would say I ordered Dec 16, they've never taken more than 7 days to come even over a holiday and since these are taking so long I had to buy them somewhere else and now I don't need these... And they'd be like, There is a cancel order button on your account you can use within 30 minutes of placing the order! Um I ordered these 11 days ago... like I said... And then, Your order will arrive Jan 2nd! Ok... but... can we look at the possibility of cancelling due to the reasons I told you originally that you completely ignored... Then it went pending AGAIN on Dec 31... so I figured great, I'm screwed. Not the end of the world if I have to spend them organically but just annoying overall especially as I don't want them anymore. Order is still just showing as Placed. Well got on today and order status now says cancelled! Woohoo! It's not over until the fat lady sings, or until the pending charge drops off again, but I'm very hopeful at this point that I'm not getting unnecessary MCGCs!

Finally back on the boards. Got a new computer and lost my Dis login - no idea what email I used to set up my original account because I couldn't retrieve my login. That, plus usual holiday madness and an exceptionally busy December at work kept me from posting (although I did do a little lurking just to stay in the loop).

We did a trip to USO on URs just before Christmas - paid points for a club level room at Portofino Bay for 2 nights and a suite at Sapphire Falls for 2 nights. Was a nice way to do it - we liked Portofino (and the express pass was key during the weekend before Christmas). Not sure we got much value out of the lounge. I had planned to do dinner there one night, in addition to our breakfasts, but we wanted to be in the park, so that didn't happen. Breakfast was pretty good, and we did PB&J there for lunch one day too. We did get a very convenient room location, though, with a nice view. The pool was really nice there too.

We liked Sapphire Falls a lot - the staff was super nice, and drinks at Strong Water were very tasty. We enjoyed the pool there - it was a rainy day (but no thunder/lightening) but my LO really really wanted to swim. We got a cabana, which worked out really well. Came with drinks and a small food credit (which covered a light lunch for all of us). Lifeguards were really on the ball there, and the pool staff was great. LO got to swim and do the waterslide to her heart's content, and DH and I alternated between sitting out on a deck chair in front of the cabana and going in the cabana to get out of the rain (with a long stint in the hot tub!) We intentionally did a non-park day so we would have some more relaxing vacation time, so not having the express pass didn't matter. I would definitely do the split stay thing again!

We bought our park tickets with URs - I got passes with a value pretty close to the cost of an annual pass (the kind with blackout dates, so not top tier), and was able to convert them at the hotel to annual passes for about $25 per person. BUT I couldn't do the upgrade until after we were done going to the parks - the APs I wound up with would have been blacked out during that weekend.

We did get to ride Hagrid's Motorbike - and it completely lived up to the hype. So fun! DH and LO are not big rollercoaster people, so it was just me and my older DD. I tried to get her out the door early, or at least to take her breakfast to go, but she was being teenager-y and moving slowly, so we didn't get to the tapstiles until about 8:20 for a 9am open. We were further back than I wanted to be (about 2/3rds of the way back to the ticket booths). They opened the gates at about 8:45, and we hustled to the beginning of the Hagrid's line. Line started near the fountain, but we didn't stop walking until just before the bridge to the castle. Were in line for probably 45 minutes. If we had been there 10 minutes earlier, I swear we would have had half the wait. Was still worth it!

For Lowe's are people grabbing Gift Cards? I had the offer on my Delta Biz.

For my SW cards if I go to "see rewards details and redeem" I can see what's earned for next statement. It may show up there.

Yeah - you can see it from the Chase App. Just go to points detail for that card and it should tell you your future points (including support clicks).

Yes, searching by comments is down right now. Apparently there's some hoopla over being able to search by author so dev took it out but that either directly or indirectly broke the whole tool. Not sure if it's intentionally down while they work on the author search issue, or the dev decided just to not fix the glitch right away. Searching by posts works but obviously not the same.

I noticed removeddit hasn't been working either and I wonder if it's tied to the same issue. I saw something about user deleted content being part of the reason for removing the author search so maybe there's a change to Reddit that's causing a problem? Or removeddit just decided not to like me (it happens).

Oh, while trying to find the comment that mentioned it I found the whole subreddit - r/pushshift

adult qs = 3 snacks. Child QS = 1 snack. This was posted by someone currently in WDW and checked in yesterday. I can’t confirm, but they were the poster with screenshots of the current credit breakdown. ​

That stinks! This is of course all second-hand reports with a lot of DIS drama added in so I'll keep following to see how it shakes out first.

Today was an IT crapfest! People who I KNOW were prepared and well-read on the topic had phones crash and end up with BGs that may not get called until late this afternoon IF AT ALL! It certainly has me frustrated with a trip just 3 weeks out... I'm just hoping things go well for us because it sounds like you're heading early to Hollywood Studios to enter a Lottery that could be tampered with by IT issues... (that's exactly what I want on my $8k vacation)....

I was considering doing this for our trip..... if the cost is close enough.... but I was hestitating for the same reason, we're there on a blackout date.... do you feel like it was a smart move anyway? (I'm still weighing options)

For me, it made a lot of sense. Part of the reason we did the trip was that we could do it without a lot of cash outlay (it wasn't in the original vacation plan, just had points/SW vouchers to cover most of it, so why not go!) Got the UR vouchers, brought them to the hotel vacation planning desk and was easy to get the 4 day tickets from them. Originally tried to change them to APs, and they said it would be $175 per person if we want to visit the park during our stay . I then figured out I could just use our 4 day tickets until we were done, then convert. No plans to go back during spring break or Christmas next year, but we will be in town at the end of January. Even if we only use them for one more park day, totally worth the $25 per person, and its entirely possible we would do another random weekend down there at some point in the year.

If you will be there during a blackout period, but you wouldn't be there during a blackout for the rest of the time you have your AP, totally makes sense to use your regular tickets, then convert before you leave. If you're planning to go again during a blackout period, the economics are different.

What dates are you homeless?

The whole trip is feb 1-5. I currently have ASMo booked on a PHer rate of $83/night for Feb 3-5. I really don’t think I want to mess with packing up and moving hotels so I probably just need to try to find something for all 4 nights. It’s just me, dd19 and my boys and we will have a car.

We got it for her for Christmas. They had been playing it a lot but forced me to play tonight. I'll be honest, I did NOT like it at first because there's a TON of reading/rules/nuance. But by the end, it was pretty neat! I'd totally recommend it as a fun game to play!! We've been doing a lot of board games over holiday break. I guess I'm just here reminiscing before bed tonight because I don't want to work tomorrow, lol!

We also have been enjoying Disney Codenames!

We have that one, too. I know what you mean about the rules. It felt like it took forever the first few times we played. I doubt it will get played during this break (DD leaves this weekend and it's more fun to play as a family) because we are in the middle of an "Exit" game right now but DH had to go back to work so who knows when that will get finished... I'm glad you enjoy it! I think that's the one we got last year.

I've been watching too! Sounded like the BG situation was ok, but one bad IT day could really mess with things! I even bought myself an extra 1 day in the parks so I can head over and preview ROTR to see if it would be too intense for my LO (and my DH, who is kind of a ride coward). No problem getting up and getting there early, but I need a boarding group in the morning, because I will have work stuff in the afternoon. And I will be looking out for the guy in a football helmet in the parks - would love to meet you, if we overlap
