I know this was maybe discussed yesterday, but do they really have thousands of people packed in like sardines prior to 7? If the main BG were already gone today minutes after opening, I assume that is the case.

Believe there were 127 actual BG yesterday before they went to backup. If one assumes a modest 75 people per BG that means close to 10,000 people are already packed in prior to opening.

Well, I allowed myself a glimmer of hope yesterday when they extended hours to 10 mid-day, but still 171 was not to be. I received a notification through the app after 8 pm that they were stopping boarding groups... at 167. In the park from 6:30 am to 9:45 pm, no dice.

I checked in with CMs a couple times during the day, and they have no sympathy for BG left-behinds, I can say that much. SWGE was still awesome, but it is distinctly not “Disney magical.”

Man, all of these reports have me so nervous for our Prez weekend trip. We currently do not have PHs and only one day planned for DHS. I am wondering if we should add the PH option and have the ability to go to DHS every morning to attempt a BG???

Where is the information on the chart coming from in the original post. I see people here posting the groups are full by 7:05 yet the chart is saying 7:25. Which is it?

the "confirmed" bg are filling up very fast, the 7:25 is backup bg

It’s definitely busy but it never felt packed. Once you tap in the crowd dispersed and there’s plenty of room to move around. If you are also trying to rope drop a ride then it might feel packed but if you’re just hanging out till official park open I didn’t think it was too bad yesterday from feeling like sardines.

With a caveat that I’m still a little salty from yesterday (I’m stuck on that word, sorry), even though we did ultimately ride, I came away feeling there’s no way I would want to try it without an AP/hoppers or if using a single park day ticket was material to my plan/perspective.

While most seem to not be having issues, there’s not much / any room for error if you do.

to the bold, it's not that they have no sympathy is that they have to be strict on these rules or else everyone would try and ride the day after. Believe me when I say the CM do not want to say NO to any guests, especially under these circumstances they are getting yelled at, cursed at and sometimes physically threatened on an hourly basis

I would wait until you actually try to get a BG (and fail) before upgrading. You don't have to add PH before you go. You can add it any time during your trip. (Unless you are not starting your parks in DHS and you want to try that first day.)

And what I’m hearing from cast members is that due to New Year’s being in the middle of the week, people haven’t gone home yet, like they normally would after NYE if it were around a weekend. So the worst of the crowds should start to ease a bit this weekend as people head home. It remains to be seen how other busy times (marathon, MLK, Pres weekend) will be.

I agree with this from yesterday. Before tapping in it was packed/crowded, but once in the park they have enough area open for people to spread out, move around, etc. I walked around freely checking for bars, WiFi, etc. The only more crowded areas were towards the front of actual cut off lines with people who were wanting to be the first at their ride destination. It was a pleasant experience IMO.

I feel bad for all the CM's... everyone aware of how they are treated ought to go out of their way to be supportive of them when they can!

Jan 1st, per chart and reports 7:20 was when regular bg filled, backups filled by 9:32
yesterday and today have been the days that bg are gone by 7:05

I think you’re just mixing up your days and the comments you’re reading. The chart is very accurate and it’s coming from the info shared on this thread. I haven’t seen any inconsistencies or issues on the chart personally.

It definitely felt packed today (Jan 3), and it was sardine tight in the direction to the left for SWGE. I hate to think that it's ever been worse.
To a PP, yes, I have to recommend PHs to everyone who wants to ride RotR.
