I only recall Kroger and Giant Eagle Haven't come across any myself.

Haven't looked at the value in a while but Amex used to have uni tickets under GCs section of the MR portal. Not GCs but alternative to spending UR or cash on tickets if still there.

Also Randall's (at least in my area). Most of the savings come from cash-back at grocery credit cards and fuel perks, so harder to find real bargains than for DGCs, imho.

Moreover, (and this is more directed to LuckyMamaInDE and CyndiLouWho) I have found using Universal GCs to be much MUCH more of a pain than Disney GCs. I've used them to pay off rooms and room charges at RPR, PBH, and HRH, and each time, there was a problem with one of the cards that took a while to sort out. I've also used them for food and merchandise in the parks, and frequently encountered CMs who don't know how to use them properly. YMMV of course, and I do keep using them, but be aware of the potential headaches for the ~10%-ish savings.

I'm just going to say it: I think conferences are a waste of time and a money grab.

I’m a professional and I’ve only been to one conference and only went to that because I squeezed my whole family into a club level room in Tampa and we made a vacation out of it. My kids ate and drank their weight in cookies, chips, and soda. I HATE going to them although my boss makes noise every year about all of us attending one. However, I just saw one at the Breakers in Palm Beach this summer, and since my office will pay, and I will probably never get to stay there, I might just do it.

Have any of you take a ring somewhere to get the diamond tightened? My main diamond on my engagement ring is slightly loose. We don’t have a Jared near us. I went to Kay and they said it would take 10 business days to send it in and cost $53. Do I just have to bite the bullet and pay for it? I’m really nervous sending my ring in but I don’t want the diamond falling out either

They did it right at the shop for you? Since we’re new here I have no idea what jewelers are good ones. I’ll ask on my gym Facebook page

I get where your DH is coming from. Not to be a Debbie Downer but this hobby is an addiction, and being addicted to anything can take a toll on you. I've been in it less than a year and I can see that. Maybe he just needs a break. With all the shutdowns lately, a slower pace might be a good thing.

If you can’t get credit card points or meet an MSR on it what is the point?!!

Admittedly they don’t all suck because I have a friend I met for vacay in NOLA when she had a conference a couple years ago and it was pretty cool as her work paid for the last day or 2 because the conference was kicking off but poor woman’s next conference is in Minneapolis or something this year... yeah, that’s a solid Vacay No from this Californian

Sorry to hear this......but this hobby isn't fun for everyone. I would probably get a similar response from DW IF I involved her. Usually the only time she knows she has a new card is if I ask her to sign the back of it. She is the major breadwinner in our family, but I don't seek her approval for opening new cards and she doesn't want to get involved anyway. I appreciate not everyone has the same option to do that within their relationship.

What I can say is....it has definitely helped that she can see the benefits - for example, we are heading to Orlando for 5 days next month - Flights, Hotel, tickets - all on points. This is one of those trips we just wouldn't have taken if we didn't have the points. All I ask of her is an occasional phone call to close a card.

Is there something your DH wants that you could bribe him with? You could use the 'If we get this card, I could use some of the bonus to buy you that XXXXX you have been wanting'

Find a way that he doesn't have to 'keep track of everything' - my DW tires of that pretty quickly - especially if I keep telling her she used the wrong card......AGAIN!!

My dh would feel exactly the same if he had to do anything but he rarely even knows he has a new card. Very rarely, I will actually give him the card and just say, 'start using this for everything' but typically, *I* just keep his card and use it for everything.

Data point on Fees after upgrading a card. My Marriott card was the original $85 version. I was charged the fee on 6/1. I upgraded to the $95 card on 8/12 and I got $63 AF refunded. I was just charged the new $95 AF on 1/1.

Our DS 19 has 3 more weeks off! I have enjoyed having him home too, but I think the break is way too long. It would be nicer to have an extra week off during the school year instead of such a long break between the 2 semesters.

My dd19 will not be returning this semester, of course, but if she was, she would start back Jan 21. My dd17 resumes college on Jan 22. They both were done back on Dec 10. I find it such a long break and agree that it'd be nicer to have more days off during the semester.

Wow, that is a long break. My girls were both done on Dec 20th and start back Jan 13. They didn't start the semester at the same time, so a little strange that they finished on the same day.

It's crazy long. My dd's friends at TX schools went until the 20th also. DD17 actually was done Dec 4th in terms of going to class. The professor put the last couple assignments up for them to do online. My dd's both started on Aug 19th, even though different schools.

I've also read a little bit about Melio and wondered if anyone knows anything about it. It seems to be like plastiq but for businesses. My mortgage is for my rental so I figure it would work but I don't know if I can use MC GC and the small bit I've done hasn't had any info on it.

I have taken my engagement and wedding bands to one of the mall jewelers to have it tightened and they did have to send it for tightening and when I had it resized. Most of the jewelry stores don’t have the equipment or expertise at the store. You would need to find a lol all jewelry maker jewelry f you don’t want to have it sent out. That reminds I should have mine checked out. It is princess cut and I’m always scared I am going to pull one of the prongs.
