Yeah, I'd suggest calling or chatting with Hawaiian. Just having the Hawaiian credit card with your HawaiianMiles account number attached should make the lower mileage awards available to you. How recently did you get the Hawaiian credit card? Amex MR transfers to HawaiianMiles instantly. So if you can get the low 17,500 miles rate, you can transfer the MR right away.
I just got my Hawaiian card on the 4th. Just under a week ago. I already had a Hawaiian Miles account # prior to applying, and put it on my card application, but have seen no verification that it’s actually linked to my card. I’ll do some investigation. Thank you!

Well, it seems to be a week for blowing up my plans. Planning my whole end of January WDW trip around RoTR, and if they are going to open at 7am (seems likely, although they haven't changed the hours for our dates yet), I think we need to swap MK and HS days. I had scored decent fast passes, too. Oh well, will have to hope my same day fast pass luck is good!

We were planning to be at HS on our last day (flying out at 7pm), but it seems that going in the early AM and then going back in the evening will give us the best chance to do the rides we want to do, either with reasonable standby lines or 4th+ fastpasses. There would be no way to get our stuff the airline check-in (opens at 7) and have any shot at RoTR. MK opens at 9am, so we'd be able to comfortably get out of our room, drop our stuff and rope drop at MK.

What day are you planning for HS? We'll be there on 1/29. Hours haven't changed to 7am open yet, but I am anxiously awaiting to see if they will so I can move FP around a bit and plan the day better. (I thought maybe we'd see an hours update today. Sigh.) Currently have a SDD FP for 9-10, a throwaway Little Mermaid at 10-11, and ST 12-1. Hopefully that gives us enough time after tapping into ST to refresh for ToT or RnRC.

nice didnt know this now its on my list for cards to possibly get haha.

also for that curious read this today from a TPG article someone did the new math on the CSR
After subtracting the $300 travel credit, the difference in cost between the Preferred and Reserve is $155 a year ($250 vs. $95), which is equal to roughly 7,750 Ultimate Rewards points ($155 divided by 2 cents per point). That means if you spend more than $7,750 a year on travel and dining (or $645 a month), you’ll come out ahead earning 3x with the Reserve instead of 2x with the Preferred, though ultimately you’ll have to decide whether you travel enough to take full advantage of the CSR’s benefits. If not, then the CSP would likely be a better choice.

The 70k roundtrip with United was for regular ole economy. For only 10K more per person, you mean I could be one of those people that has always been relegated to economy, but now I get to live the dream and actually lay down and sleep during a flight in business class? It sounds too good to be true. Tell me more, tell me more! lol. But in all seriousness, this sounds like a no brainer. If both P1 and P2 get CIP, we'll each get 80,000 UR points (plus 20K referral for P1>P2?). If so, that's enough for the flights! :cheer2: (not factoring in the detour we want to make to Australia, but not sure if that's feasible or not. More research needed.)
May I ask, what did you guys do for your stay in Japan? The only hotel chain I saw that seemed like a reasonable redemption rate was Hyatt...
Oh crap I realized I said 80k but it’s actually 90k. I always get confused because we paid 180k total for two people so that’s where the 80 comes in. Still not much more than the economy you were looking at.

We used the United award chart to find flights. I believe you can change the settings to show partner flights. Once you find one that works for you, you call virgin and ask if they have the same one available (sometimes they don’t). If they do, they should be able to put a hold on it. Stay on the phone with them while you transfer your chase points to virgin and then ask them to book the flight. You could always call them back but I think I just stayed on the phone since the points transferred into my virgin account quickly.

In Tokyo we stayed at an Airbnb, Kyoto was an apartment hotel, and at Disney we stayed at the Hilton Tokyo Bay. I wrote a trip report that I think is linked at the bottom in my signature. We also have a vlog. If you go on YouTube and search wuztravelin you’ll find us

Thanks, I'll check it out! You've been super helpful! ::yes::::yes::

The day in question is the 31st. I am also hoping to mess with my FPs if they change the hours. Right now I've got Star Tours at 8am, AS2 at 9 and Little Mermaid at 10:30, which is fine. We'll probably RD SDD, then try to do MFSR later in the evening, but if we could get a SDD FP, that would be better. Bummed because I did have a SDD (even though I booked after the 60 day mark) on my original day. I don't need to get ToT or RnRC (going with my little one and DH, who are both ride chickens - SDD is about their limit), but would love to get TSMM.

My guess is, it's not yet. A link that says HA Mastercard sign in, should be there on your Hawaiian page, under My account. Biz or Personal?

I got my free night cert last week as well! When did you finish spend for bonus points? My Hilton biz points posted a few days after I finished MSR even though it was the middle of a statement. It's probably been a month since I finished MSR on the Aspire.
I met the spend by the close of my Dec 6th statement. The bonus points were listed on my mailed statement, I called when they weren't showing up in my AMEX or Hilton account and they said they would show up online in January sometime - I forget the exact date. I got the free night email on Jan 5th.

if you have the confirmation numbers, you can look online and change the flights. When are they flying?
I discovered the missing flights by looking online. I had checked dd's flights (IND) and rebooked one direction to save some RR. I then went to check the flights for the other 3 people (PHL) and got an error message that I wasn't able to make changes online, so I went to the schedule to see what was up. Both flights for the return, MCO to ATL and ATL to PHL, were no longer listed. No listed as sold out, but no longer on the schedule at all.
It happened to me last year. Our flights were from CMH to MDW to SEA. Due to the Max 8 changes, one leg was removed and our flights, which should have been redone were broken. If I remember, mine didn't get removed but all fares showed sold out which was odd. I had to call in as I never got an email. Some type of computer glitch. It will help if you know exactly what flight you want to change to if that one doesn't exist any more.
I assume the change was due to the Max 8. After a 15 minute phone call (something wasn't working right for the CSR), I was able to get the kids on a much better flight, nonstop, leaving 5 hours later. More Disney time :cheer2: But geez Louise, why the heck did I not get an email about this when I did for dd's flight time changes?!

So there is a definite upside to not doing TDR on the upcoming trip...

I no longer need to worry about amassing Hilton points... ergo there is no need to worry about a continued relationship with Amex at this point! Popups, begone!

Still can't even THINK about another MSR until February 1 though. That hurts! :rotfl: :D
