March 2020 Beyond the Parks Exercise Challenge

Missed posting last night. My "to the moment" status is: 1482/3500 as of early Monday morning, Pacific time.

Sunday's totals, per my watch:
  • Active Calories: 1245
  • Exercise Minutes: 136
  • Standing Hours: 15
  • Steps: 14,678; 7.5 miles
  • Flights Climbed: 32
Most of this was normal horsey chores and a 20-minute outdoor walk to meet the International Women's Day challenge. I took one of the senior horses with me on the walk but he wasn't enjoying my pace (brisk walk/jog). I dropped him off at a patch of grass 15 minutes into the walk and found a happier horse on my return!

I did not do a great job of exercising Thursday or Friday. I had some major drama at my new job, which resulted in me quitting! :scared1: They totally lied to me regarding the schedule during the interviews and stuff. I guess they were just hoping I wouldn't say anything? Their mistake. Well, now it's back to square one looking for a job again, but at least that will give me more time to exercise!

I have 60 minutes from Saturday and 50 minutes from Sunday.

Oooooh, so sorry! Great job on the weekend exercise. Wishing you strength, motivation and power as you resume the search. {{HUGS}}

Good for you for not caving in when they lied! A better job is waiting for you. Have faith.

I'm taking this evening off, treadmill-wise, because I have to go to a calling hours. But I did play tag with the little ones this morning - not "count worthy" minutes, but at least off my duff in the fresh air.

With this post, I have to step away for a couple of days. My husband's sister passed away this week, not unexpectedly. She suffered from dementia for a long time so it is a mercy for all concerned. So, I'll be at the services and traveling till Tuesday. I'll try to update numbers when I get a chance. Thanks for understanding.

My sincere condolences to your family.

60 new minutes - my usual 20 treadmill minutes both yesterday and today, plus 20 extra minutes yesterday shoveling snow...because, you know, spring in New England. :rotfl2:

I anticipate having more "snow shoveling" minutes before we finally see summer. :-)

When our children were younger we were fortunate to stay at both resorts and enjoy their pools. I had four little ones to keep tabs on in Stormalong Bay; luckily my parents went with us and gave us extra eyes. It always made me nervous, though.

Wow, that would make me nervous too. I always try to act as extra eyes on my nieces and nephews when we're around water. I worry that with "everyone" watching, "no one" will be watching.

Oh my goodness! Good for you for sticking up for yourself.

Gloomy day as the last winter storm was setting stage. We've been warned of strong rains, which started tonight, through the week. I disregarded the notifications to set sand bags ... but moved some hay into the horse trailer so I can stuff tomorrow's hay nets without getting wet. Or, perhaps more accurately, while getting less wet than working directly off my tarped hay trailer. Otherwise, I succumbed to the gloomy weather and enjoyed (?) a major carb overload. :(

Looking back on WDW pools .... we enjoyed 15 nights at SSR last summer across multiple visits. I did lots of pool hopping and enjoyed the Sunrise Yoga sessions. My favorite pool at SSR is the Grandstand for its many lounge chairs, hot tub and lap-lane pool. The spash pad was closed for renovation.

I try to overlook the strong horse racing theme ... which is played up heavily in that section, especially at the splash pad.

Weather here in MA had been so nice past couple of days and looks like it’s going to continue. l’m going to start running again today, haven’t been out for a run since the princess 5k a few weeks ago. Of course, my running is like most people’s speed walking lol. But my butt is moving and that’s all that matters. Hope everyone had a fabulous day!

While @bwvBound was dealing with winter storm prepping, we had beautiful weather here in Texas today! We took the opportunity to do some yard work at the parsonage. I really put my back into digging up some old, weedy flower beds. It was fall when we came here, so didn't really deal with the landscaping at all. But now that it's basically spring time, we're going to really try to spruce things up around here!

I'm going to add 80 minutes for 320/800.

🌧 Rain! 🌧
I can’t complain, we’ve been praying for rain. We’ve were blessed with steady rain all night long and showers though the day. My driveway has some erosion but that can be fixed with the tractor after this passes through. I’m guessing either the storm impact was less than expected; unless, perhaps, the heavy stuff is still ahead?

Typical horse chores except that every cart and bucket load was heavier today than normal thanks to the wet conditions and mud. Wet stuff out; dry stuff in. Repeat.

My mare stared me down at the gate asking for play time. I figured I’d give her a walk about the property to inspect fence lines, etc. Um, no. Once again, she had much to say. I dawned on me, as she offered aerial antics and began snorting fire, that she is showing seasonal behavior ... and that I’d forgotten about the stallions nearby. LOL. Poor baby, she’d completely lost her mind. Gladly, we have plenty of tools and proper communication to help her find that brain. She did great; I’m proud of her.

Back to WDW Pools ... I also enjoy the Dolphin’s pool area given the caves and grottos, of sorts.

At this pace, I think I'll hit the watch's actual goal of 4110 minutes! Yippie!

As for WDW, I was thrilled, this morning, to snag Epcot Moonlight Magic reservations for our upcoming Beach Club visit. Again, Yippie!

How are you doing? Been thinking of you with the recent tornado reports.

We lucked out. The tornadoes hit a couple of hours east of us. It's terrible how much damage Nashville and Cookeville received. I hate it for them. We have to be in Nashville in a little over a week, and I'm not looking forward to seeing the devastation in person.
