Tonight I feel hopeful... I don't know why. I can't explain it. It might not be founded in any science or fact. BUT I feel hopeful! And I'm going to take that! This is going to get better - maybe in 2 weeks, maybe in 6 weeks, maybe in 3 months... but we're going to come out of this on the other side!!

Yesterday was a very hard day... my parents had to put our dog to sleep. Over 15 years she was with us - I still lived at home when she joined the family. She was with us through a lot and it's always hard to say goodbye. And so it was a hard day.

BUT today was good. I hope your today was good, and if it wasn't, I hope that your tomorrow is better!!

I am so so sorry for your family's loss. As some know, I lost my beloved Cookie Dog in Jan and it's been harder than I expected. Sending :hug:to your family!

Soooooo many expenses and no MSR to put them on. Not wanting any new cards to mess up my new mortgage, but seeing all those lost points opportunities. :guilty: Crossing my fingers that our move still happens. No issues with the new house, but still worried our buyers will back out, closing not until May. My hours were cut at work, and I'm only part time to begin with. Lots of nurses and medical assistants laid off (primary care office, no one coming in). Hopefully DH's job is fine.
And I could use some lysol wipes, everyone is hoarding them here. I'm on my last pack just for normal house cleaning, no hoarding. Plenty of TP though. :rotfl:

Not worried about the mail but I do feel relief each day we wake up and are ok. Oddly it's people that interact with people way more than me that have me more worried about going to the store which is silly. Like prince charles getting sick or the congress people. But then I think about how many people they shake hands with and see everyday and I can't remember the last time I shook someone's hand as I always avoid it if I can.

So I'm still going to try and get my amazon window but I don't want to stay up late or set an alarm so I've no idea how that'll work. Though the store has been bad early on Sunday's and this trip would be much faster. I just wish delivery was easier. Suppose I could order for pick up this time and take my mom's suv so I can have them put it in the back. My trunk no longer pops on its own 😊

In something of a minor miracle, I finally got a response from British Airways to my Twitter campaign (Tweets and DMs) and a text. My 100,000 Avios are back in my account as of this morning from our cancelled flights from Glasgow to Denver! Now just to see the taxes and fees refunded to my Amex Plat....

Planning for the future, we just started tossing aroung the idea of an Asia trip for DD's graduation in 3 years. What would be the best route to 4 first-class flights to Japan or Hong Kong in 2 or 3 years? Which airlines have the most availability? About how far out would we need to book? How many points and how best to accrue them primarily via cards with 2 players? If this is too crazy, I assume business would be more feasible?

Flying from TX, but we can position anywhere with SW.

I was in Mexico last week, on a family trip to celebrate my grandma's 85th. Things were a little scary the last 2 days wondering if our fights would be cancelled, but everything went smooth. DDs weren't able to complete their GE interview, this was our one chance without having to travel 4 hours one-way to have an interview - at least this will give me a chance to apply for DH's GE so we can hopefully get 3 interviews scheduled at the same time at DFW.

I just skipped about 100 pages since I didn't think anything big happened in the churning world last week. But then I was just on Reddit and I saw this comment... what the heck is he referring too?

@Alexle2007 Maryland Public Schools to remain closed through April 24th.

Adding this which I copied out of an email from Life Insurance of the Southwest:

Thought maybe any teachers homesick for their students might enjoy the art..

Well you made me click. If you read through the responses, people are saying this is language that has been there for 3+ years. I'm holding on to my URs for future travel.

I am more concerned with MMS article I quoted. Stop broadcasting!

I just did a quick check on AA, you can fly RT on Business for 90K/ticket.
You could probably do it with 6 AA cards. Each of you would need 2 barclay and 1 Citi.

I have to move my Southwest flights from the end of May to December once the dates are released. Will I be able to use travel funds if I’m rebooking a more expensive flight? I’m thinking yes, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Question about closing my DH's SW Chase card. AF just hit, how long do I have to cancel - 30 days? I just paid the outstanding balance minus the AF amount. He has had the card for more than a year - much longer.

You will be able to use the travel funds, I think SW allows only 3 forms of payment, so if you have a lot of different funds there are ways to combine them into one

Rope dropped Costco today, seriously considered Minnie ears, but decided just my Star Wars t-shirt for now (yesterday was a fighting Texas Aggie tee lol). I'm trying so hard to make this fun lol Got in line at 8:53 around the building at the corner opposite the doors. They ended up opening 45 minutes early and we were in at 9:21. Managed Chlorox wipes, Kirkland paper towels and Charmin. I really prefer Kirkland, but I'll deal. I know how long a roll of Kirkland lasts, not so sure about these other brands. No ground beef and I didn't get the green beans on my list, but everything else I went in for I was able to get. Many items are limit 1. Grabbed 2 bags of coffee beans since my daughter is now making her daily lattes. Whatever keeps them happy and agreeable. We were out and in the car by 10:15.

Once I pay a few of this month's bills (I mean April by that lol) I think I've met msr on the CIU. Thinking I'll hold off on new apps for now. We should be homebound with little spend for at least 2+ weeks and with the upcoming refinance, I'm not sure if a new CC would affect that.

I posted my shopping experiences on Facebook for my local friends, I feel like I've been giving "how to do Disney" tips lol It's exactly the info I'm looking for when it comes to visiting the parks so thought it might be helpful.

DD's softball coach is doing a drive-by of all team mates today and recording a short clip. He's going to splice them together and post it. We'll call it separated team building lol

Did I tell you all that I found an old container of dried up Purell sanitizing wipes in the back of a closet? Really old.

I poured alcohol in and a little water. Not sure what toxic material I have created.

I have Clorox wipes that I am not sure how old they are but I'm guessing it's in the neighborhood of 2-3 years. They're not totally dried up so I've been using them to wipe down light switches, door handles, the keyboard, phones, etc. until I can find a can of Lysol. When I was at the ATT store last week (was it only last week!) I was impressed that they were spraying everything down with Lysol, including the phones. I would never have thought to spray liquid on a phone but when I asked about it, the woman just shrugged and said it's fine.
