I called Amex retention and decided to keep my Bonvoy Biz after all. They offered a $40 credit. That's not great but it brings the fee down to $55 assuming the csr was correct about my fee still being $95 and not the $125 that I was thinking it would be. Maybe I misunderstood the language of the fee increase and I actually have one more year with the lower fee.

.

In addition to many of the above, I buy Tasty Bite Madras Lentils at Costco. There are
8 pouches that you microwave for 1 minute in the microwave. Costco puts them on sale for around $8 every few months. I keep them on hand for a quick solo meal of lentils, rice and a pile of veggies. The grands love them with rice. I used to bring this to work, sometimes with the pouches of rice also and people would come in and ask what it was - I had a lot of people who started eating this as a quick lunch.
Love those pouches. Lentils over Fritos is my favorite way to eat them lol craving that for lunch now, but we're concentrating on fresh stuff and leftovers at the moment.

Now I'm thinking of lentils, Fritos, grated cheese and maybe a bit of sour cream or even salsa.....I'm pretty obsessed with food the last week or so.

DVC stays must be eligible also cause I received the promo and we only had a DVC stay (for dh & I). My dd19 had a non-dvc stay booked and she received the promo as well. I'm considering Pop, ASMo or POFQ for us. It appears no resorts are excluded except the campsites.
🤦‍♀️ I had it set to 3 adults and 2 children so no values were showing up for my weekend. Now I know why the 5th sleeper rooms were showing up top for POR and CBR lol

Can an air mattress fit in Pop, Little Mermaid or an All Star resort? If so, this would definitely make sense for us. I might be willing to go Coronado or POFQ if I can get an air mattress in there.

Well DH was working on the trim for the mudroom last night and had "an incident" with the chop saw. BIL took him to the urgent care (so I didn't have to sit out in the car with an 8yo and a 6mo for possibly hours) and 7 stitches, a shattered fingertip bone, and lots of good pain killers later he's DEFINITELY not working for at least another week. We decided to hold onto our tax refund as a financial security blanket (he's self-employed so I'm 99% sure he's not eligible for unemployment benefits since he's still technically considered essential workforce) while we wait for everything to shake out. He's kind of nervous about how quickly we are maxing out his CIP MSR and paying for it (I'm not, and I'm the one that juggles all the money and pays all the bills.)

I was approved for my CIP application this morning. Woohoo!

edit: I just looked at the carnival site and idk what they were looking at because i am seeing a lot of rooms still.
Now, I have a chase travel portal question. BIL and his family have booked a carnival cruise in 2022 that we are planning on going on also (thus my presence in this wonderful subforum.) I guess SIL looked on the carnival website and allegedly there are "only 2 rooms left on the whole boat" that are close enough together for us the our kids to reasonably do.....I guess because of people re-booking all the cancelled cruises? So NOW DH is pushing to book asap instead of waiting until we can pay for at least half (if not most) of it in late summer/early fall. I DON'T WANT TO. Does chase "hold" a block of rooms like a TA and would have more availability than the carnival website? I haven't looked personally yet since we have been kind of busy.

I read they were being extended by 6 months but you have to call...

Edited to say not sure what they do if it is already cancelled.
yeah... the IHG isn't working for me right now,and calling seems to be a joke so this may just be a loss...whatever....

I was told they couldn't even transfer me to the retention department because I don't have any offers. I guess I'll cancel.

I hope your DH gets better fast- ouch! You're the opposite of us, my DH wants to cancel our planned cruise..... I hope some more UR experts chime in today...

It’d be so tight trying to fit an air mattress in any of the values but you definitely could at CS. I would think FQ as well but I can’t remember the room size very well.

Just applied for our first CIP. Was holding off because we have other MSRs we're working on, but wanted to get in before and IF they change the signup bonus. Got the 2 week message via phone. Here's to hoping!!! PS. Used a DisChurners referral link. Will let you know via private message if we get approved!

ETA: As of today, I still got the 80,000/5K signup through support link.

I’m sorry you’re stuck in this situation. I can’t recall your location & IIRC you’re an outpatient department? Our ICU went from no COVID 19 patients 2 weeks ago, to 2 at beginning of last week, to what appears to be 8 today (I am off work, using PTO, but logged in to see what’s up this morning). I’m not privy to total number of COVID cases in our hospital but clearly cases are increasing. I’m just waiting for our governor to extend the shelter in place order (currently thru April 7 I believe)
I work outpatient in cardiac rehab. I had the option of doing site manager training for PPE but now that we've taken the girls out of preschool that won't work for us since DH is still going in to work 3-4 days a week. What's crazy is that with the new CMS allowances, I am one of the only practitioners in my department that COULD be working virtually and billing for MNT. My boss is exploring that now for potential with our CHF patients and maybe beyond, but for now I'm just helping out doing my COVID virtual visit queue and draining my PTO.

You are not alone. I feel the same  I lost my job (for now) 2 weeks ago. I have slowly moved from anger to depression. I hope to reach acceptance soon.
I'm so sorry. I keep trying to find a silver lining in all of this, but I know that's not helpful when your'e in the thick of it.

On topic... I'm seriously debating jumping at the 80K CIP offer before it disappears maybe forever (is it even still an option?), but we're also seriously considering a refi and have already been in contact with our broker about it. Just waiting for the rates to drop a little more. Soooo I'll probably refrain. But man, that potential 1K would be handy right now.

I know we recently talked about wills so I’m sorry that I’m gonna bring them back up again. Dh and I decided we’re gonna use legal zoom. They have combo packs where you choose between last will or living trust. Dh said he wants to do the living trust so I thought I’d ask for input on here if anyone has ever used legal zoom before. Both combos come with power of attorney and living wills. The only difference is deciding between last will or living trust. What do some of you think?
I don't know a whole lot about trusts, other than you would have to re-title any property you want to put into it, but I think you might need a will to appoint guardians for your child(ren)? For us, all of our assets other than our house and car have designated beneficiaries, so they would avoid probate automatically. Ideally, by the time we are both gone we would no longer own a home, so we didn't bother with the trust.

Here in my suburban philly hospital we have 17 intubated COVID or r/o patients. We got our first intubated last Monday. 25 on the floors in addition.

we are now working from home on a rotating basis- 2 in the office, 3 at home. I work in house Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and I don’t go back to the hospital to work until 4/13.

never in my life did I imagine doing inpatient clinical work from home. On Thursday, I’ll be writing 7 tpns from my basement. It’s crazy

I wouldn't do anything with any kind of trust without talking with a lawyer. All states have dif laws and you could really screw stuff up/people over by having one thinking it'll be more helpful. In WA it's better for my mom to not have one and not put me on the house because the value of the house gets attached to that date and taxes. So id we did it now and when it all changes the house has gone up 100k I'm responsible for the tax dif where if we leave it as is in the will the date becomes that later date.

Either way, even with the simple will I need to do, I will pay a lawyer to make sure it's done correctly and I don't even have kids. There's so much stress surrounding that and I've seen the issues within my own family even when it's all set up properly that it's best to spend the money and do it right. It's an investment for your kids and your piece of mind.

Are you sure a living will allows for guardianship decisions? Could be, ours just has our wishes for medical care for us. That is a very important thing at this point to get provisions for the baby.

I was just responding to Haley's question. I wouldn't personally have a trust for any reason, after seeing some of the stuff lawyers convinced my in-laws to do, and then my sister-in-law much of it undone a few years later. We have wills, financial POAs, and living wills through an elder law atty.
