Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Look at the beautiful, happy faces and smiles of the children! It doesn't look like Plague Efteling. It looks like Magical Efteling. Looks like they are taking reasonable and smart safety precautions to help their guests enjoy their vacations.

Hoping to find a park somewhere in the U.S. this summer that will offer a safe and magical experience like this one.
It's probably a child actor ;-)
Although, with the current conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the child and family of an employee.

It all looks like they are well prepared, the only thing several theme parks in NL are vague about is going with people not in your household and if they will check and how they will check. Some say, friends can go, but everyone will be a single rider.
It definitely helps that the park is large.,72ha (Magic Kingdom is 43, Hollywood Studios 55, Epcot 121, Animal Kingdom 235), so people will be able to spread easily.

Really curious to the first reports from the parks next week.
I think what helps is for the Betherlands that in Efteling (and all other theme parks) there is street entertainment, but besides the mascotte there aren't many characters. So children are not brought up with taking their picture with a character. They will probably have less need to go up to entertainment to take their picture unless their parents 'force' them.

Doesn’t matter. The parks themselves could be closed a lot longer, especially if guest compliance is an issue at Springs or if cases spike.
Exactly. Given the fact Disney is only opening 2 stores and 1 restaurant (of the Disney owned properties) on 5/27, it tells me they’re going to take this very, very slowly and see how things progress. They’ll most likely add a few stores/restaurants on a weekly basis and hold off on the parks until at least after the Fourth of July

I agree. Why not just replace coffee cups/glasses with disposable. At many of the Deluxe resorts, they have Keurigs. Why remove those? No coffee pot needed. K-cups are disposable, You can easily dispense into a disposable cup instead of ceramic.

I NEED my cup of coffee to function in the morning. I too would just bring a small Keurig and k-cup supply in my suitcase if these were permanently removed.
Maybe this pushes them to put a Starbucks or Joffreys in at every resort! A girl can dream right?

So if you have a temp of 100.4 or higher you aren't allowed, what if its 100 degrees outside already or 90+?
How will they even be able to accurately measure temps?
I am not an expert or a medical person, but I would imagine that if its already hot outside taking temps won't work.

I do believe behavior at Springs will help dictate when/how parks reopen. If people don’t play nice, won’t follow rules, health issues arise due to heat/masks, outbreak can be traced to DS, etc. it gives them even more ammo towards either opening or staying closed.

But this can only go so far as parks are their own beast. Resorts too. But the answers are right in front of our face: this will be a slow and deliberate reopening. They won’t just announce next week all resorts and parks are a go anytime soon. Seeing one park at a time, one resort at a time shouldn’t be a shock.

I remain in awe of the way this virus affects every step of life at WDW.

If your temperature reads too high you wait and try again. That’s what’s happening in Shanghai.

It almost never reaches an actual temperature of 100 degrees in Florida.

It rarely gets to 100 near WDW and high outdoor temps won’t cause much of a rise in body temps. A temperature of 100.4 indicates a fever, regardless of the outside temps.

For the Springs, at least, they’re taking the temps in the nice, shady parking garage. It’s really cool in there no matter the weather outside.

that is my guess but until union is on board with no masks they will be required if they open. PS they way I read the posted letter it seemed parks were included not just DS

lets also not forget what others are doing. Six flags looks close to opening magic mountain and masks and temp checks are coming. Cedar fair indicated on an investor call they’ll be doing them too.

This is not just a Disney thing. This is an industry wide thing.

I always wear a hat when visiting the parks, so i had it on and didn't even think about the possibility of running hot on my covered forehead until i got in line for ther citywalk check, i was fine

We might get some info from the theme parks plans on Wednesday. The VP is coming to Orlando with DeSantis and will have a round table with tourism industry companies to discuss their reopening plans
Good they are working carefully together. Neither Disney or DeSantis want the opening to be followed by a hot spot eruption a few weeks later.

It's the Voyage of the Little Mermaid at DHS that is in question (according to the rumor), *not* the Journey of the Little Mermaid at MK. I would imagine that WDW may not want to reopen immediately the indoor theater type of attractions. This makes me nervous for the Frozen Sing-Along at DHS. We love that one. I wonder if they could limit the seating so that every 3rd or 4th row is occupied instead of completely scrapping it.
Agree. Frozen Sing Along and the Tiki Room are must dos for us!

If your body temp is getting high, then you should be more worried about heat stroke than entering a theme park. But what is more likely is hyperthermia:
