I don't believe it is for safety. It is about the bottom line. As Chapek said in his interviews, they won't operate if they can't cover variable costs, and why should they? I'm sure they have calculated scenarios to the nth degree in looking at the numbers, as they are dealing with so many different factors that will impact both income and expenses. They are in a very tough spot, and almost all of us will be disappointed with some/all of their decisions because we all work so hard to plan our WDW trips.I'm sure it's been discussed, but how do reduced hours improve safety? I'm sure it's obvious, I just don't know.
