Resort Change by Disney

I called the 7866 number... was getting busy signals or all circuits busy but kept pounding the number for 3 or 4 minutes and call #24 finally went through. They picked up in TWO MINUTES. I got Millie, and she was fantastic.. moved our October ASMo standard room to a Pop standard room... she told me I’d have price protection but when she ran it, it ended up being $143 cheaper, which she said was because of different county taxes, so she adjusted my bill down. She said it could take up to 24 hours to show up in MDE but it’s already there. She confirmed no changes were needed to Magical Express since my resort reservation number stayed the same, and confirmed there would be no impact to my Park Pass ressies... and I can still see them in the app. I also got a confirmation email already with the resort change and new price. Whew! So we get the bonus of the Skyliner for less money! I’m a happy camper today. Good luck to all of you! Keep pounding that 7866 phone number!
I got moved to Pop too, do we know if the skyline will be running when they first open?

I am currently at 2.5 hours on 5277 #. When I finally got their from busy signals someone answered very quickly, within 10 mins, and said she had to get in touch with guest services and the good was longer than normal but she was going to try a way that SHE could talk to them quicker- made it sound like I was still holding for her. But I am trying to change 2 reservations so patiently waiting for SOMEONE lol

Finally after 100s of calls (and a disconnect after three hours waiting for GS transfer yesterday) I got through to guest services directly, the 7866 number, and CM picked up with no wait. 2 rooms originally yacht club for mid august, we do not plan to change dates. Placed on hold for a while. Came back and said that the person I needed to talk to had a wait time of three hours and there was nothing he could do, and encouraged me to wait until they contact me. I pushed back a little, asking to transfer to a difference CM, but no luck. So I am right back where I started. Should I try again??

The person I talked to took quit a while to be able to get me moved. At first he said that he had no options to move me, but then I said that others are being moved he put me on hold again and was able to get me moved. I am thinking that their system is probably a bit messed up on their end and they need a supervisor to over ride the system. It's a big mess.

Yeah, basically if you want to keep a king at CR, the only thing is the garden wing.
Ahhh gotcha. That makes sense. Actually the more I've looked into it I kinda like the garden wing. Seems to be a bit more quiet, large rooms, but still accessible to all the MK area fun times. Since we're not doing the parks, just doing one day at a resort for fun on the way to Sarasota, seems like a good option.

Ok so after a little over 2.5 hold, for both of my dates moved. Sept 11-14 was Coronado, moved to CBR, and Oct 4-10 POR 5the sleeper loved to 5th sleeper at CBR. Was hoping for a deluxe and pushed it but she said that was the comparable resort so I just took it. The first girl was great. The second, the guest services girl, was ok. I’ve definitely had friendlier. But I am sure they are tired and stressed.

Seeing a lot of people move from Port Orleans to deluxe resorts at times when Caribbean beach is going to be open.... almost makes me want to call back to get my CB room upgraded 🤔

2.5 hour hold after successfully getting through on the 1936 number after dozens of attempts on 4 different numbers starting at 7 am. Successful move for a Sun and Fun room offer for a 8/26-9/4 stay from a club level deluxe room at BWI to a 2 bedroom-villa at Bay Lake. Originally offered only a studio or 1 bedroom DVC Resort at various resorts, but was able to successfully negotiate to a 2-bedroom villa at no additional cost. Was given the choice of either Bay Lake or Beach Club, but given the uncertainty about Stormalong Bay reopening, chose Bay Lake.

Something that might be helpful - unlike my unsuccessful attempts yesterday, I didn’t need to be transferred today to Guest Relations/the special team. The reservations cast member told me that overnight they gave the reservation cast members the ability to make price adjustments/apply discounts.

I got moved to Pop too, do we know if the skyline will be running when they first open?

I don’t think they’ve announced that yet... I know they said for the period prior to park opening only bus transportation would be available, but I don’t think they’ve said anything definitive about when the Skyliner will be open yet. Of course, with so much info coming out so fast, I may have missed something.

UT UPDATE:

On call #107 to the guest services line I got through, talked to a very helpful cast member. She was super fast and very knowledgeable. Double checked all of her answers with someone else that was dealing with third party bookings. Their policy for third party bookings changed yesterday (I'm assuming that they designated their wholesale dept to this after the overwhelming mess of calls).

Here is what she said: UT comes out of a different inventory (wholesale) along with other sites like expedia, etc. They have designated an entire dept to updating these rooms automatically. They will modify you to a room of equal or greater value at no charge and this will be reflected in MDE. Since my stay is 7/16-7/20, she said it could be updated in MDE as early as tomorrow but it will likely be Friday-Monday of next week. They are going in phases according to your arrival date. The changes will be updated in MDE first, then Disney will send you an email, and then UT will also send you an email.

Something else she mentioned: The 7 day auto cancel is not as scary as it sounds-- even if you haven't had your room modified, they will NOT cancel you if you've tried to reach out via chat, email, or call. They will also reach out to you 2-3 days before your stay if they have not heard from you. So have someone put in your notes that you have called even if they are not able to modify you!

Thanks for your help, everyone! Hopefully I get my update soon!
Thank you for all the details! This helps!

Thank you so much for this info.! I am booked CBR 07/19 through hotels.com and I tried many times yesterday to answers from both Disney and hotels.com. Hopefully we will see a change in MDE by early next week.

I am so happy for everyone who has gotten through... I have been so optimistic about this trip (got my park passes and everything!) but after a collective 11 hours I am beginning to get very discouraged. Has anyone else had to call the GS line this many times?
I literally was hung up on after 6 hours. I have dialed over 100 times on multiple numbers. I too am feeling so discouraged.

I cannot get through. I did right at 7 then morning and was then disconnected. Have tried calling regular and special number hundreds of times today only to be met with the busy signal.

My TA has been on hold to help me change resorts since 7 am. She got through to someone who then said she had to wait two more hours for Guest SErvices and she got disconnected just now and the queue is closed for her to call. I'm about over all this. I can't make park reservations because something is screwed up with my account. Grrrrr.

So I decided not to hang up while I'm handling the reception desk at work. I just hope Disney doesn't pick up while I'm answering a phone call. I'm at 3:30. Still silent hold. Still no human.

Keep at it! I was on hold for 3 hours this morning and got disconnected. Called back, on hold for 15 minutes got disconnected again. 20 minutes into my next attempt.
