UT UPDATE:
On call #107 to the guest services line I got through, talked to a very helpful cast member. She was super fast and very knowledgeable. Double checked all of her answers with someone else that was dealing with third party bookings. Their policy for third party bookings changed
yesterday (I'm assuming that they designated their wholesale dept to this after the overwhelming mess of calls).
Here is what she said: UT comes out of a different inventory (wholesale) along with other sites like expedia, etc. They have designated an entire dept to updating these rooms automatically. They will modify you to a room of equal or greater value at no charge and this will be reflected in
MDE. Since my stay is 7/16-7/20, she said it could be updated in MDE as early as tomorrow but it will likely be Friday-Monday of next week. They are going in phases according to your arrival date. The changes will be updated in MDE first, then Disney will send you an email, and then UT will also send you an email.
Something else she mentioned: The 7 day auto cancel is not as scary as it sounds-- even if you haven't had your room modified, they will NOT cancel you if you've tried to reach out via chat, email, or call. They will also reach out to you 2-3 days before your stay if they have not heard from you. So have someone put in your notes that you have called even if they are not able to modify you!
Thanks for your help, everyone! Hopefully I get my update soon!
