Resort Change by Disney

Im so sorry! I feel better I’m not alone, but sorry it so crummy! I hope it all works out for you!!

Thanks, same here, hope yours gets sorted out as well. We are a family of 6 booked in AoA right now...I think part of it is wondering where they intend to stick us as such a large family. The other part is being only 3 weeks away and having no idea where we are staying. Who knows, maybe taking so long will work better in the end? We are arriving cross country...a bit far away to show up without plans in place.

I was able to get a refund for the cost difference i paid for my September trip. I was at POR and moved to Caribbean Beach both preferred room reservations. Called the 7866 number, super helpful!

Anyone else have a stay before the parks open? We are staying over the 4th of July weekend at Riveria and cannot get any dining reservations. Wondering if anyone has had any luck. I did call the IT number because I couldn't get the online check-in to work, and they fixed that. They then transfered me to GS to see about dining and I was told they show no availability all weekend at any resort dining location. The guy from guest services told me it is odd because the resorts have been a ghost town and he sees no availability even this weekend. I doubt it will be that busy, but you never know...

My TA says she still cannot get through! Why can the TAs not get through if you all/others are getting through? Is it because you guys were willing to wait 6+ hours??

As PP mentioned, TAs have to call a separate line and many, many of them have been trying to get through for days now with no success. I know it's very frustrating on the consumer end to not have any answers, but I can assure you, the TAs are trying very hard to help their clients and they are as frustrated as you are. This isn't a good situation for anyone.

FYI - this was posted on DTA a few hours ago: "Your Clients may be receiving email communication from us if they have a Resort hotel booking between July 11, 2020 and September 30, 2020 if we have their contact information. We need them to confirm, modify or cancel their Disney Resort hotel reservations or Walt Disney Travel Company packages by July 1 for the travel period through July 31, 2020. For arrivals August 1-September 30, 2020, we need them to confirm, modify or cancel 30 days prior to arrival."

Just when you thought the phone lines couldn't get even more jammed up. . . .

Thanks for the info. My TA has been trying for my Jully 13th booking since Monday to confirm and move our resort. She told me the queue was full for TA's on the phone at 7:05 this morning.

Could you supply the entire number? I can’t seem to locate it on the boards

Wow!! Glad I was already moved from AKL villas to Poly!!

ETA: I wonder if this has anything to do with rumors that NBA families will be staying there...
Hmmm
Update. On Tuesday we were moved from POFQ to BLT 1 bedroom TPV for our September stay. They stayed they had to submit a form and then the price would go down. I have been checking frequently and it appears that it went down this morning. It’s now reflecting the price we were paying for POFQ.
That’s a sweet upgrade, congrats
Same with us. We got a call today. I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but we are staying at POP at the end of July. POP is listed on Disney's site as opening on July 10th. UT told me that they received communication from Disney today (Friday) that they are not sure POP will open then. They (UT) were given a list of names that UT needed to follow up with to see if we wanted to cancel or be moved. She also said disney would "upgrade" us at no additional cost to us. She specifically said they are trying to get the info from Disney where people will be moved, but they have been told to tell people to check MDE and that we would not get a call. I asked if the tickets were refundable, and she said not normally but given what's going on we could get a full refund on the tickets and hotel anytime between now I think it was 9 days to check in or something like that. The tickets would have a 5% fee, but the rest of the cost would be fully refundable. We elected to move at this point, not sure where. But good to know we can get the $ for the tickets if FL cases keep going up.
Ugh, we are supposed to checkin on 8/11 to Pop
Not sure what your dates are but we were told POP may not open on time now and they are looking to move our late July stay to another resort.
Who said this? I’m getting lost trying to keep up
Disneyland's delay is due to California not yet clarifying opening requirements for theme parks. Disney's statement indicated the state is planning to finalize requirements sometime around July 4th, but they could not be ready to open the 17th with such short notice. It is a unique situation to Disneyland.
Probably moreso DL hasn’t come to agreement with their unions. A demonstration was planned this weekend.

A big thank you to all who have suggested the 7866 number. It really is magic. Four or five redials and right in with no wait.

We spoke to two different operators today. Had POFQ. Only offer was Cabins or CBR with price matching.

Our 35% discount could be carried over to any open resort. We took a studio at Copper Creek.

Fair in my book. They offered a comparable resort for the same price. We didn't want it. That's not Disney's fault. The discount applied to our new choice is absolutely reasonable.

We also switched a July reservation to November as a backup in case things don't settle down in Florida. Right now, that one is rack rate which is also fair since we changed the date, not Disney.

For anyone waiting on their price protection to go through, you'll know it has because you'll get a new confirmation email from Disney. Just got mine from my adjustment 2 days ago.

We’ll be there too. I’ve been calling when I am working and have time to just sit on hold. 5 hours in earlier I lost the call. Second call was answered (on the WDW-DINE) line by a cm who announced herself as the internet help desk. I explained I had called the dining line and needed to make reservations and she transferred me. Another 45 minute hold and I was finally able to make the two reservations I wanted. She did have to enter my resort reservation and all first. It sounds like your CM was doing something wrong or had a bug in his system. If I had not gotten through this afternoon I was just going to ask the resort concierge to make them for me. No way that all reservations are full.

@married2mm, I was booked at ASMo in October and I called the “magic” 7866 number on Tuesday and was moved to Pop... I recommend calling. I told the rep that I saw my resort was not on the opening list and wondered what will happen... she was super helpful.

@Wendysofftoneverland, I repeatedly hung up/called back for about five minutes straight, one right after the other, on Tuesday morning and got through on call #24, and waited only two minutes until a rep picked up. Keep trying! 🙂
You were right! On the 34th try, we got through on the 7866 number. Got rebooked from October All-Star to November Pop and by switching from preferred room to standard, it ended up the same price. Yay! Made my day :)

Your TA just has to keep trying. I'm sure she got the communication I posted above and is, I'm sure, still trying to work on it. I'm so sorry. I know it's very frustrating.

If I had been offered a Savannah view at Kidani, I would have jumped on that. Savannah view rooms are awesome! Would have made up for Kidani being a little less AKL to me. CR was the only deluxe option available so better than nothing!
I have stayed at Jambo once before but never Kidani so I am getting stressed that I may not like it especially knowing there is no QS offered.

I am and was able to get some at the resorts for the 4th -6th. But I called and booked right at 9:00 am via DVC MS the morning it opened.

Is the pool bar due to be open? That would be a QS option ( kind of) and Sanaa has a breakfast now. Some sit down ( but not really TS) but some grab and go. The pool bar oh KD began ok option for me. And, the gift is hopefully open? So I can at least have a Paoer cup of Diet Coke handed to me ( several times) in the morning for my refillable cup! 🤣
