We’re booked at POFQ over Thanksgiving. Is the 35% off that some are referring to for all? Or is it for those for who had free dining cancelled? Not sure I want to stay at one of the other mods that will be open then. We’re debating upgrading to SSR or Poly. I know we’d pay the difference and am trying to guess how much it would be. TIA.
Yes, the 35% discount is the Recovery offer from losing free dining. Since you're not going until November, you can always take the wait-and-see approach since POFQ may be announced to reopen by then. If you're in more of a rush to solidify your dates, just know you'd be responsible for the price difference since there'll be other moderate available by then for your trip. We’re booked at POFQ over Thanksgiving. August 22nd Destino Tower Club Level Is now Copper Creek Studio.
I shouldn’t complain, but I’m going to. It was this or Carribean Beach. Chose Copper Creek because I like Wilderness, however, not too happy that I don’t have a second bed.
May try to call in a few weeks to see if I can squeeze another bed into my stay. If not, I’ll probably bail.
Congrats. Seems lots of us leftovers had good luck today. It restored my faith in using a TA.Our TA finally got through! They offered her deluxe studio at Riviera and deluxe studio at AKL Kidani. I panicked! I chose Kidani. Taking our 2 special medical needs foster dudes so I though the Savannah view would be fun for them. Hope I chose ok! Too late now!
If Jambo DVC is open while you are there, there is a small kiddie pool that our granddaughter liked to play in. We brought some small boats (just watch so they don’t go down the drain like one of ours did!).Thank you. I was really nervous! I was “hoping” for a 1 bdr at AKL Kidani ( both boys are in pack and plays, even though they are older for medical safety reasons) but I know that was a pipe dream. Lol. They live animals, so that’s what sealed the deal, the Savannah view. Plus, we can walk them around in their strollers and look at the animals. They love to go to the pool ( which was why we picked YC for SAB) they can’t stand independently, but the zero entry and shallow part there will be perfect for them to sit and play in!
I received an email from hotels.com on Wednesday that they are still coordinating with Disney and will update me once they have more information. We have a 7/19 check-in at CBR. I have been checking MDE but no change yet. I assume we will be moved to FW Cabins based on everything I am reading but anxious to know one way or another.
Just a word of caution about what he said. The DVC resorts COULD be packed. They only have control of the hotel side as far as what is bookable. We have also seen them moving regular rooms into DVC so IMO they really aren't concerned with packing it in the hotels too much honestly. If you're staying at POP or CBR it probably won't be packed but if at a DVC resort I wouldn't count on that.So I have 2 comped rooms at Disney and was given a special number to call when I was ready to book, was shocked that it rang the 1st time and someone immediately picked up. Had a very interesting conversation about the resorts going forward thru the rest of 2020. We were worried that there was a time frame that we had to use the comped rooms, so I asked the easier question, when will the hotels with no reopening dates open and was told not this year. He also stated that for at least the rest of the year the resorts were going to be at the same reduced capacity the parks will be at, so no packed hotels, which is a good thing.... we stayed in a big cottage at Margaritaville this past weekend, and while we had a private pool at our cottage, we checked out the main pool, and it was jacked up packed...so glad Disney is not just packing the open resorts to the rafters. We were able to book 2 nights this September and reserve park reservations.
Somebody in one of these resort change threads did. They are saving $$$ due to their moves.Has anyone tried moving from a deluxe to a mod, or a mod to a value? I think I read (reading so much so many places) that they were only allowing moves between the same level of resorts, but was curious if anyone had tried switching a reservation from one level to a different level and received the appropriate refund in price difference?
Oh wow! That's quite a refund!Somebody in one of these resort change threads did. They are saving $$$ due to their moves.

Those are my dates in pop tooChanged our stay twice...we were originally schedule for 7/5 - 7/9 at POP and when I first called last week (to push the dates out to when the parks were open) I was told I'd have to pay the difference for a DVC resort. I said no thank you to that and kept my original reservation at POP (on the urging of the CM). Decided we'd just keep those dates and relax at a hotel so I called back on Tuesday and was offered a price protected move to a one bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs. Sounded good to me! Fast forward a day or two and I noticed that folks were moving from the All Star resorts to POP in mid July (also noted the POP predicted opening date of 7/10!) Since I'm an out of state AP, my real goal is to use my extended AP for the parks (no rest at Disney, HA!) so I called back to GS and asked if they could swing me back to POP and move the dates to 7/19 - 7/23. Very nice CM said sure but this would be my last change allowed.... I did have to pay a minimal amount as apparently those dates in July cost more than my original dates in July (sounded dubious but I was just happy to get actual open park days). I also asked him to change my DS to my DH on the reservation since DS can't come any more and DH was happy to jump in! Unfortunately, that bit never happened - even though the CM confirmed it all with me before we parted ways. So now it still looks like it's me and DS. Since both DS and DH have park tickets and I have an AP, I did make park reservations for us - but I'll have to call again I guess to swap DS out for DH before we arrive. Very happy to be going to the parks now though!!!
Where were you originally that you got a 2 bedroom? We are a party of 5 and only got a deluxe studio.Split stay, late July. Got moved to 2 nites Kidani, 4 nights Boulder Ridge. Both 2br villa for our family of 6.
Now thinking of swapping those 2 Kidani nights to 2 BWI DVC nights.... two questions....
1 Are they taking rez changes like this on the weekend? Or must I want until Mon morning to call?
2 What are the chances of getting a 2br villa at BWI DVC?
