Thoughts on Lowball Offer

Difference is maxpass is a cost.

They can easily move to a paid FP+ system and remove much of the issue around availability.

Also your major issue is always going to be the difference in who attends the parks on east vs west.
True. First trip was at 10$ which was a no brainer, next was at $15 and at least gave some pause. Haven't been since the $20 but for a family of 4 or 5 it starts getting steep :scared:

I don’t love the cost, but my family hates having to figure out where they want to eat six months from now, let alone what we want to ride 2 months from now. Maxpass is a much better fit for us ( and you get way more FPs than we were able to get at WDW).

Never went to disneyland , but I love the fastpass system. Never had a problem to book for 10 persons. We did everything with fastpasses. 10-15 per day . We are traveling in summer.

Interesting comment from a broker
“Issues right now there are no bargains because Disney is buying back anything that comes through their price below market. It is my understanding they have a list of several hundred names of people waiting to buy older contracts so as soon as team force comes back they have to have this inventory ready”

That doesn't match up with comments people have made here in the last 2 weeks about there being no wait list for resorts.

I do think the next few weeks will be particularly brutal for ROFR because of the 125 point rumor and the lack of foreclosures.

Yeah, I thought it was odd too. In contrast to that another broker said this time of year can be good as people are posting listings that may have 2019 and 2020 points but don’t want Annual Dues for 2020 reimbursed. Saw a good loaded listing for a BWV but just too many points for me

I mean, I’m not saying that anybody is lying. I’m just saying some things that some brokers say should be taken with a boulder of salt.

Haven’t heard of this site before but if someone is interested it’s $105 for 100 points, could be worth a punt?

I’ve never heard of that site before either. They don’t appear to have many listings, but the information seems well presented and well organized.
Just great... another website to stalk relentlessly. 😉

I noticed that there are only 18 listings and many stripped (some "completely" stripped until at 2022 apparently) contracts. Between the small number of listings and others here not having heard of them, could this be a relatively new start-up broker? Anyone know if they've been established longer?

I think they are relatively new based on a quick look at them.

Their twitter page was created June 2020.

Their YouTube page was created June 2020.

Their Facebook page was created in August of 2019, but it was more of a informational page and wasn’t until July 19th they rebranded the page and started to advertise themselves as a broker.

I will say their website and digital media channels are pretty well done compared to some other brokers.

Either that are someone who was running a rental business has decided to cash out and start up a resale business as they unload their own contracts over time. That way you avoid paying commissions on the sales while you unload your own contracts and if successful you have a new business.

Just stumbled across a $82 a pt OKW 2020-187, 2021 onwards 250
hope it helps someone

I saw that one and thought about putting in an offer, but fear of ROFR chased me away. :rotfl2: OKW isn't my first choice, so I'm holding out for some other lowball (or plain old low price) opportunities.

I put in a call to https://www.dvcresalemarket.com/ yesterday about VGF. I was psyched when I saw a VGF pass ROFR at $140. They told me they offer the sellers an instant sale price - they will buy it from the seller themselves. They won't bother presenting an offer if it's below their instant price (which makes sense). Their buy-it-now price on the listing was $146, and I don't want to go over $150 right now to make it worth it to the seller.

I'm patient and I'll wait for prices to come down a bit.

How many points are you looking for?

I admit it does bother me that they won’t even present offers to the sellers because *they* want to buy it if the seller is willing to accept the offer. It also means I can’t start negotiating with a seller until I’ve come up to a price too close to my max. This practice has sort of soured me with www.DVCResaleMarket.com, especially as the price they were refusing to present was a price I literally just purchased a contract on, though through FidelityResales.com ($134 at Copper Creek).

I chatted with the broker early yesterday morning and asked for the owners best price on several listings. It's now well over 24 hours and I've heard nothing... Perhaps the seller is out of town, however you never leave a potential buyer without a "...sorry I haven't heard from the buyer but I haven't forgotten you and will get an answer ASAP..." or something to that effect. I left my information which she confirmed with a promise to call me yesterday. So far...not impressed.

While I'm ranting, DH and I discussed a Fidelity listing on Wednesday and wanted clarification on banked points and chatted with them Wednesday afternoon. A return call was promised. Nothing! We pay C A S H dear brokers!

EDIT: I just got an email from Fidelity
