DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

I guess I can be considered an old timer...I was in college when I started on these boards to plan a trip with some friends from school.
I'm now 35, got married last summer, and expecting our first baby this fall! It is so nice seeing some names from back when I used to post all the time. Time kind of got away from me with no trips to plan. Since we have more time at home now, figured I would check in!

Hi, Jen. Great to see you!!

Last time I saw you here, I was congratulating you on your marriage. Now, congratulating you again, this time for being with your new baby. My best to you and your husband along with your little one.

Do you remember when we were in Fantasyland, back maybe in 2002, at one of the dis-con meet ups? I think we were on the carousel with a number of other folks from the boards. Towncrier, maybe Ray Sharpton too, seems to be in my memory from that night. Fun times.

You're probably home now from teaching school due to the virus. You all stay healthy for your little one.

PS: Still go Cowboys??

Sad news to pass on here.

This morning, Oldkicker (Bernie), sent me an email informing me that dis'er, Snowwark (Kim), passed away a few weeks ago. :(

Kim was really a great person. Always, always so very pleasant, always kind. She carried herself so well here on the boards. For a time, she was a moderator on the Flower and Garden forum here. I recall her often discussing her flowers, plants and gardening at her home up in Canada. She knew what she was doing, she had that proverbial green thumb. :thumbsup2 (well the little guy there is green, thumb is white)

I recall meeting Kim in person at one of the discon meets at WDW, maybe in 2000 or 2001. Kim was also one of the many 'members' of the morning riddle thread that mostly Oldkicker posted every morning here on the cb. There was a fun, fresh thread every morning, fun to look forward to. Kim also attended the Riddle-con meet in Ohio back in 2003. We all had so much fun there, mixing it up with so many good people from here for 5 days. Great memories of past fun times here on the dis, good memories indeed.

Kim, God speed. It was my pleasure, and that of many here, to have known you.

Kim's Legacy notice......

Oh, no! I remember her at the old DISCON meets, too. She is such a sweet person.

Blessings to her family and friends. ❤

Sorry to hear of this. I vaguely remember her name here and there. My how times have changed. I am active on the Disboards on the FB page but not so much here. I was at the first DisCon but none of the others. How I wish we could go back to those times.

I will try to visit more often now that I am retired but alas, rarely on the computer. I still quilt and enjoy my granddaughter who is now 11 and a seasoned Disney traveler. We started her young -3 months old.

Planning on a Dec trip and Feb/March. October was pushed back to Feb. We shall see how things play out....

Marking a sad anniversary here today. Judi's (Snoopy or JunieJay here) husband, John, passed away 10 years ago today. Sad time for sure. Know well, Judi, we do keep you and the boys in our collective memories here, recalling good, fun days of the past. Always wishing you all well. Judi and I do keep up with each other. Judi is doing okay.

God speed, John.

...thanks for the touching reminder of just how fragile life can be. Ironic how he was the 'epitome' of health, especially with the job he was doing to go so young. In the words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:
"Into each life some rain must fall."

The silver lining to that is that along with rain, eventually comes the sunshine....allow me to introduce my little bit of recent 'sunshine", the newest "newtimer":

Wow, Kim!!! Congratulations!!! She's a beautiful newtine, so cuter!!! I like her pinkie out the way it is.

Prayers for Kim's family :(

I don't think I have posted on this thread. Just skimmed through it quickly. Wow - I noticed names from years ago that I don't think post much anymore. I see a few have passed :( = - I hope all the rest are well and just not posting.

I recently received an anniversary/obituary update on my phone - it was for Richayms. If I wanted to leave a note again. How time flies.

Hope everyone is well and thank Dan for starting this thread many years ago :)

Hi, Anna.

I looked up Rich on the Memorium forum. Passed away 16 years ago, age 42. A great DVC poster for sure. RIP.
