Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

For anyone who has rented a cabana - does that show up in your Plans under My Disney Experience? Because it is not showing up nor did I get an email or confirmation etc.
Just want to be sure before I reach out to Guest Services, if I'm looking for something that shouldnt be there then never mind :)
When I originally booked my cabana, it showed up in "My Plans" in MDE. A few weeks later, it disappeared. I called to double-check it was still visible on Disney's end. It was. The CM said she could try and do something to make it appear again in My Plans. I declined, as I didn't want to have anyone messing with the reservation if it looked fine on Disney's end. When we checked in to our cabana last week, it was all fine.

It did show up in my plans.

We rented one for today and they told em I could link it to MDE with my confirmation number, but I never tried. We received a call confirming our cabana yesterday and we checked into this morning without issue.

OOooo ok - how is it? I read a few reviews prior to covid that you got a fruit tray and then a bit later a dessert tray? Is that still the case?
Also HAVE FUN! I'm jealous - I'll be there in 32 days haha

Interesting - I booked through DVC so I wonder if that's why it's being weird.

It did show up in my plans.

Ok - I'm sure I have the reservation but of course I get nervous that if I don't SEE it, then I'll walk up and they'll send me on my merry way hahah

Thanks. Is the water view really worth it or garden just as great? Do you prefer YC to BC?
I think these are all questions we have asked to ourselves as we have booked trips to WDW. If you have extra money or are celebrating as special occasion then the answer could be yes, unless your budget says no. I personally, prefer to look out my window with a water view. It sets the feel of the vacation for me. Its how I begin and end my day. Normally, a water view includes other things of interest too: (YC/BC) boats, Boardwalk, pool, beach, buildings of a park (depending on level in building). Garden is great if you just want to look out at a quiet landscaped area, sometimes includes a garden, usually includes a sidewalk or two. When we reference worth, you might want to consider what VALUE are you going to get from the VIEW, do I have budget constraints and could the extra cost for the view provide GREATER VALUE if I spent this money on another aspect of your trip. Write all of these items down and you will see your answer :)

If balcony size matters you might want to include this in your reservation as balconies are tailored to align to the resort exterior design and interior layout. Between YC/BC their actually the same long building with different theming.

Yacht Club vs. Beach Club. Normally yacht club are more of a formal setting than a beach club. Its a personal preference where either way you are in a good resort. While I have never stopped to judge one over the other I can say we have stayed more at BC over the years as the beach theme for us feels more casual and inviting vibe. There are also other people who would say YC was more inviting and made their trip exciting. When it all comes down to these two, its a matter of personal preference.

Our last trip we had GV overlooking the gazebo and it was very nice. I don't book water view there because it is usually a lot more than GV. Last time I priced it out, it was $110 more per night (that is with tax). I prefer YC because it seems like there are less kids there. We used to stay at BC all the time when my kids were under 12. YC seems calmer.

YC is deluxe.

Remember that cars park at TTC but buses drop off directly at MK.

Lots of info about timing during the age of coronavirus in these two threads:

Thank you for the information. Just to be clear though, can we park at the hotel early in the day and bus to the park (like say 8am) long before we ever actually go to our hotel room?

I didn’t take a picture of ours so may be revisionist history going on in my head, but that tray is WAY better than what I remember over Labor Day weekend, I know we had the Mickey ears, but I don’t remember that other stuff.

We placed a mobile order for Ale & Compass tonight. It took about 30 minutes to prepare when we arrived for pick-up. Something to keep in mind if you are in a hurry or looking for “fast food”. They mention the wait will be similar to dining in the restaurant on their app. Not everything that they serve in the restaurant is listed on their mobile menu. (Like most mobile menus we have experienced here). Overall, everything was good.

Yes just pull up to the guard gate and say you are checking in.

You are able to self-park first or pull up to the front doors if you want any luggage assistance or just to drop your luggage with Bell Services to hold until you get back to the YC and your room is ready.

The buses will be running about 60-75 minutes before scheduled park opening hours but you should allow some extra time to be early for the bus since due to social distancing there are only about 6 groups allowed per bus.

Yes. You will tell them at the guard gate that you have a reservation there. Park your car, drop your bags at bell services, and go do whatever.

Have you ever received a view of the quiet pool instead of a view of the lake when you booked a YC water view room in the past?

:)
See the 'Yacht Club Room View' thread. There is a room category map posted. I think that the quiet pool would be under the GV category. The 'water views' would be lagoon, lake or marina view. the thread does mention a 'pool view' but I would guess that is SAB and includes lagoon views.

If I was paying $110 per night to look at the quiet pool I would not be happy :wizard:

Sorry if this has been asked - are Cabana rentals 60 days out like dining now? Or can I book sooner? I'm 95 days out!

And how do we feel about a cabana in January....crazy? It's just my husband and I and I was going to rent one for our cancelled trip this year and still like the idea.
