Online check in or in person check in? Which do you prefer doing? I understand why they are encouraging online but I have to go to the desk anyways to make sure only mine and my daughters magic bands are linked to my card and not everyone else in our group. I prefer to get that taken care of first thing so I'm just debating on waiting and checking in at the desk. But at the same time, mince my oldest sister and youngest niece will land an hour before my daughter and I, maybe I should just go ahead and check in online so its already done before they get to the resort (in case they don't want to hang out at the airport and wait for us to land).

I did both on my trip in November. I checked in online and still went to the front desk to handle the card linking.

Hey gang,
On the Magical Express on the way home after 6 great days. This was the first time at Jambo & Bay Lake for our family of four. Jambo was soooo quiet. Very relaxing. Bay Lake was busy as expected.

For the “at capacity Armageddon” that has been on the news and elsewhere, the parks were just as manageable as our previous two “COVID trips” and any trip we’ve made during normal operation in the summer months. Our first park day was HS and we did everything, including RotR, Sci-Fi, Oga’s and took a three-hour midday swim break (we actually have never taken midday breaks but did so every day this trip). You have to just pack your patient pants, go early and have a plan. Every other day was just as productive. I’m jealous for everyone who’s trips have not started, but happy to head back to the nest. We did a lot if anyone has any specific questions, I’d be happy see if I can help.

Glad you had a great time and glad to hear of a successful trip with the capacity crowds!

You can always go to the front desk to handle things like MB linkage whether or not you do online check in, so I say do it, then you'll have the room assigned if there is a long line at check out or you arrive late--you can always sort out the MB charging later.

I prefer online check in, but for my trip in January MDE sent me a notification that I had to go to the front desk anyway. They didn't assign my room number in the app and the CM ended up telling me that it was because I didn't have a credit card on file. 🤔
I already did online check in for my trip 3/21 -3/27 but I'll have to go to the front desk anyway for sure because I ordered a MagicBand kind of last minute and it's going to be at the front desk (hopefully) when I arrive.

Hi y'all! I'm late to this party, but my next trip is March 21- 27. I'm staying with extended family at Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House. My sons normally go with me but now that they're both 18 and over, they don't enjoy going to Disney World as much so I'm going with family who still enjoy it! :D

On the ferry back to the car so we can hit the room for a little. Extremely successful day at HS.

Breakfast at Ale & Compass at 7:00. No luck with morning boarding group
Walked to HS; in line for temp check at 8:00
Lines open at 8:10
Two rides on Slinky and one on TSMM by 8:50
Galaxy’s edge and smugglers run
Snack
Star tours
Lightsaber build
Got a boarding group at 1:00
Mobile order lunch at pizza rizzos
Boarding group called
Waited probably 30 min in the ROTR queue
RoTR and now Resort.

We’re actually headed back for droids at 5:00 and I’m planning on runaway railroad tonight but my 12 year old needs a break so we’re taking an hour or so back at the resort.

My initial response was confusing! The reservation we may drop is indeed on 4/1. We just won’t know if we’re going to drop it until we see how the little one does on day 1 at MK. I’ve never visited with a kiddo before, so we’ll probably have to be very flexible.
Ahhh Thanks, I will try to keep checking....What is your day 1 date if I can ask?

With the exception of my hair straightener and my chargers my Disney bag is all packed and ready to go. I still need to pack my nashville bag for the night before the flight but I have everything gathered for that so it's just a matter of sticking it in the duffel bag with hubby's stuff. Now tomorrow I can focus on Hubby's doctors appointment and our family meal (we usually have the kiddos all over on Sunday nights but since I will be out of town I wanted to do it Friday night-that way I get some grand daughter snuggles before I go). I keep my grand daughter on Thursdays and I am going to miss her terribly next week so it will be nice to get some time with her before the trip. I normally get to see her on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays so it will be strange not seeing her any next week. She is the reason I packed an empty duffel bag in my suitcase just in case I buy her too much while at Disney. Since I get two free checked bags on Southwest that will give me an empty bag to use as my second one if need be.

Got you added to the list. I understand about some family not wanting to go. Hubby is not a fan of amusement parks and my youngest son (19 years old) has no desire to go either. I tried to talk him into going with me later in the year but he turned me down flat!

This is good to hear from someone who has been recently. I have been watching the wait times and they honestly haven't been looking too bad, at least not as bad as I was expecting.

Where should we pack our Magic Bands? Should I make sure they are easily accessible at all times, like in my purse or backpack? Or is it fine for them to be in our checked luggage?
I put my MB on as soon as we pass through security.
