Currently booked at Pop for 10 nights but stalking BC. Nothing is available for my dates currently. I'm willing to pay rack rate :faint:. BC is my favorite resort!

First couple of days at Pop then........:banana:BC! Dates are 8/5-8/12:banana:

:welcome: back!

Glad you were able to add BC to your trip.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

Hi, This will be our first stay at BC. Been following along for a while. Any news on the spa reopening ? Hoping to make this stay at the world a little less frantic. For once, lol. It‘s just me and DH. Thanks

Home now after a patchwork trip: One night at Caribbean Beach, followed by seven nights at Yacht Club, and one final night at Gran Destino.

*snip*

Thank you for the detailed, and honest, review of your stay at the Yacht Club.

My partner and I had a great trip to MK this past May and we weren't sure we would make it back again this year. But last night I got the food festival on the brain and we decided what the heck, let's do a long weekend and visit Epcot. An hour later, we had plane tickets, a park reservation for us and our little one, and a three night stay reserved at Beach Club for November 13 to 16! Excited to be coming back to our fav WDW resort. Guess I need to start paying attention to this thread again lol

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list

:cool1:

If you’re open to a split stay, play with the dates when looking for availability and check daily. I struggled with availability booking our upcoming trip. For example, there were instances where I could book 5 nights, but not four. There were times I’d view availability and there was nothing open, but then the next day I could book two rooms (needed two). Ultimately, I found what I needed, though it required a phone call to drop nights from the first half of our split stay.

:welcome: and thank you for the helpful info.

The suggestion worked.

I have an upgrade option from CBR 5th sleeper to either go to Beach Club Villas with 5 people in a Deluxe Studio (one king/1 sofa bed/1 pulldown for the little) for $700 more (4 nights) or the Yacht Club Waterview (Two beds and a sofa bed) for $1000 more. Which would you choose? I have two kids and there will three adults. Space is okay in either since we won't be in the rooms much. Parks are HS, Epcot, and MK only. THank you.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

I'm pretty frugal, and I have never stayed at the villas, but my inclination would be to stay at the Yacht Club, mainly due to the sleeping options. It will probably be hard to get around the villa room with the sofa bed pulled out and the pulldown if some members of your party are up and about before the the others.

Just my 2 cents, which is much less than the figures you are quoting for the upgrades.

:cool2:

I admit it. I cheated on YC. Had the chance last minute to go with DH on a work trip to FL, and YC was fully booked. Stayed at CSR. It was okay, and we got our YC/BC fix with a lucky last minute reservation for B&C. Happy to say that the No Way Jose is as good as ever.

There’s rumblings of the border restrictions easing up for vaccinated travelers, so here’s hoping that we’ll be back to WDW soon. Have an early August WL booked, and a Labour Day weekend YC. Feeling pretty good about the trips at this point. Fingers crossed…

Whatever it takes!

Glad you were able to make it to the world.

We just booked BC for 12/7-12/12 and are super excited. The rooms are going so quick for Dec - I snagged 2 standard view. We have 3 kids and had Art of Animation booked but I just hate spending sooo much $$ on a value resort even if it's a suite. So I convinced my husband we should just do BC since it's about the same price. My mom and step dad are going and they've never see the xmas decor so I'm excited for that.

Have a great time and congratulations to your DS.

Arrived atYC for our quick getaway around 1. Didn’t get our room ready text til about 5:30. Good news/ bad news situation. Good news: our standard view room that I booked thru Priceline was upgraded to garden view overlooking the back exit. Bad news: it’s a handicap room with the single sink, toilet & roll in shower all one room. The beds are very low of course. We’re only here for 2 nights or I would definitely be asking for a different room.

I don’t know if it was posted before, but the kids tv area in the lobby has cute new seats since we were here in May.

Thanks for the pictures!

Hope you had a magical trip!

What was your room number? (apologies if you have already shared that)

We are currently booked at BC for April 2022 (April 16 - 23). I am excited to finally try out SAB. Hoping that the Bon Voyage Breakfast (I know it’s at boardwalk) is open again then with the characters. We can walk there from BC right?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Yes.

Can someone help me find where I can buy the pool floats used in the lazy river and post the link? The ones that sit down in the water with arms (not the round tubes). I would love it for the river! I can't find the one like they have at Disney. Similar, but not quite right! Thanks in advance!

Just finished 8 night stay at YC. Fireworks definitely booming at 12:44 am…lol I watched for awhile it was very clear out. While I would have preferred clean sheets at least once, it seemed like they cleaned every other day and really did a great job. The bus situation is different. When bus is pulling up it does not say where it is going. So AK and MK people collide. At the beginning of the stay it was nerve racking whether or not we would get on first bus even though I was there at 6:30. Now with standing and masks on bus it was better because there was a lot of people. MK comes at 6:45 on both early entries other buses were there and through security but I still navigated a good spot in tapstile. We did not make line up for AK bus came at 7:58 (this was the first bus I was waiting since 6:30) by the time we got there cars buses everything was through and I proceeded skeptically to FOP and it was about 10 min wait. Which was nice. SAB was great and no problem getting tubes or seats. Great location for sure!

:welcome:

Thanks for the review on the trip.

Yikes on the AK bus!

:headache:

Thanks for posting these! How did you like being on the first floor? I ask because we have a Deluxe Room next week and there are only 6 of them (I believe) , so the chances of us getting the one on the first floor are decent and we've never stayed on the first floor before.

I actually liked it a lot. Our room was very close to the lobby, gift shop, and dinning. My room was directly next to the walkway and I didn’t find it to be too noisy at all.

We are planning on spending a day at SAB and would have probably gotten lunch from Hurricane Hannah’s from the poolside servers. Can we still get lunch there, and can we still order from roaming servers?

I hope you are able to get into a room at the villas, but glad to have you staying here in April. I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list and you can let us know if you are able to change resorts to BCV, or BWV.

Smart move reserving the room(s) at YC, so at least you are in the area you want to be in.

When is the trip?

We're going Oct 7 - 16, 2022

Just a heads up for those that booked a while ago. We booked our 5D/4N stay at Beach Club in the Feb-Mar timeframe, when they had the get 2 extra days of park tix promo.. I used my AAA agent. I just repriced using the current 25% off and we actually had a small price improvement. 5D/4N, std room, 5 day tix with hopper......priced out $70 cheaper. Not much savings but that will cover a lunch or dinner somewhere. AAA agent rebooked at the lower price in about 2 minutes. Every little bit helps.

Where do we find the 25% off? And if the reservation I already have isn't still available on the website, can they rebook it with the discount? We have a 8D/7N, std room from 3/25-4/2 at Beach Club. I don't see any more standard views available, so the next step up would be garden or woods view which almost negates a 25% off discount.

Ignore that - I just reread your post and realized the 25% applies to this month. I saw your Feb-Mar and thought that's when you booked FOR not WHEN you booked. :o

Along that same questioning - how do military discounts work once they become available? If the hotel we are staying in is already sold out, are there any discounts that can be applied or would we have to switch hotels to take advantage of a discount?

Discounts are always dependent on availability. They’re offered to fill rooms. If there is availability for your dates, resort & room type, the discount can be applied. If not, you would have to decide on changing to whatever is available, changing dates or forgoing that discount to keep your room.

I can't believe we are only a little over 4 weeks out. Trying to put in a couple room requests but it's not been as easy as in the past :confused3

Hello Dee!
Could you please add us to Be Our Guest list. We’ll be at Beach Club 10/28-11/06/21 in Garden View room. Can’t wait!
Thank you!
Shelly

You bet!

our in Boston! My DS 25 is trying to move to Boston from Detroit to be around a younger crowd (his co workers are all about 55 and for fun they go bowling - he prefers movies, traveling and roller coasters) but he has a very specialized skillset in virtual reality, augmented reality and holographic software design which is more in Silicon Valley than Boston so its taking a while. He did intern at NASA during his senior year in the summer but found Florida too hot. Did get to see a lot of space shots from the control room and close to the launch area. I lived in Orlando and know it takes a year to climatize to the heat.

Boston is a great area and there are a lot of innovative startups in the city and in nearby Cambridge. Wishing your son lots of luck in finding a position here!

I'm considering booking a room at Yacht Club and I was most interested in the Water View Category but when reading the details on the Disney website it states, "views of Crescent Lake or quiet pool". I haven't stayed at Yacht Club in a very long time and I never really took notice of the quiet pool, but I don't recall it being anything particularly spectacular or scenic. Am I missing something? It's $120 extra per night for this view over standard view. I'm worried that if I book water view I'll get the quiet pool view and be really disappointed as compared to seeing the lake. Of course, there some pretty terrible standard view rooms at YC so surely it's better than those.

:welcome:

I am not positive, but I believe that most or all of the quiet pool view rooms are classified as Garden View now (even if listed differently on the Disney website). This map shows these rooms in green, indicating GV:

587756

Has anyone who has recently booked a Water View room been assigned to a room overlooking the quiet pool?

Hi Dee- Can you add us to the BOG list?

When I can make reservations (July 30) I plan on making reservations for the YC water view for Dec 9-20, 2022! We haven't stayed at the YC since it was remodeled- we've been staying at the BC but want this time want a guaranteed balcony.

Can't wait to see all the new additions to the parks and celebrating 50 Years. We started going to Disney for the 15th year celebration and we have been back for every 5 years since (with a few extra visits in between).

When we started going YC & BC went there yet! My how times have changed.

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Absolutely! Will do!

We checked out of YC this morning. We were in room 4147. Sorry, I didn’t get pictures but it looked out onto the side of the back exit, facing SAB & Epcot. It is handicap accessible with 2 queen beds & a daybed. I’m happy they have these rooms for those who need them, but it was not comfortable for us. If we were here for a week I would definitely have requested a room change. The toilet, sink & roll in shower are all in one big room. No shelves & very little counter space to keep toiletries on.

The beds were very low & the door was on a timer for controlled closing. You can’t close it any sooner either. There was no desk or table but there was a single desk chair. We did a take out from Ale Compass last night & ended up sitting in the first floor hallway at the tables outside the Market at Ale & Compass because there was no table for us to eat at in the room. The balcony door was a standard wide door, not a slider.

The roll in shower has a pull down seat. As I was showering the first night, I could see the area on the underside of the seat, where it connects to the support bars. That is absolutely gross & needs quite a bit of bleach or mold killer. I feel bad for anyone who actually needs to use that seat. The shower head is very close to the wall & the hand held sprayer didn’t even reach high enough for me to use. And I’m only 5’2. So the shower situation was one of the biggest drawbacks for us. Nowhere near the shower to put your towel except the sink.

As for comfort, I don’t know if it’s just me, but in April & this trip I noticed the mattresses seem very soft & sink considerably when I sat. And I’m not any heavier than I was a few years ago either. I used to like the mattresses but they might need to be replaced soon. The closet area has no doors & less shelving than a regular room.

On a positive note, the room is only steps from the main elevators. I think it was the 3rd room down. And the view is very nice for a garden view. I had a good view of the firework testing that happened Thursday night.

We didn’t get housekeeping since we were only there 2 nights. Room wasn’t ready til 5:30 that first day. Only used the bus to MK Thursday around 8. The plexiglass is gone with all seats filled & standing allowed. So back to normal. Used the Skyliner & walked to Studios.

SAB looked to be at full capacity, saw no entry lines or distancing of chairs. Planned to go there yesterday but I just didn’t feel like dealing with the crowds. And it stayed busy pretty much until 10pm.

The parks were moderately busy. Headliners at Studios had posted waits of 45 - 70 minutes. Most MK rides were 25 or more by mid morning. And Epcot is difficult to navigate with the construction, so even tho the wait times aren’t always bad, it’s just tiring getting around.

We ate at LeCellier & Be Our Guest. Both so good. But man, LeCellier prices are crazy. Over $180 for 2 of us. We ordered steaks, salad appetizers & soft drinks. I wouldn’t even want to know what it would cost if we had alcohol.

Oh, and it was HOT & humid. We’re in our mid 60’s & probably need to start skipping the summer months. Too exhausting. But we’re still glad we came & still planning to be back again in September.

Thank you for the review of your stay and detailed description about your room.

::yes::

Me sitting here hoping that the 5th floor will reopen by Christmas. But then again by that time I will not be able to enjoy the room or property as much as I just accepted a role to be a CM.

Congrats on your new position!!!

Thank you for the part you will be playing in bringing to magic to guests.

We recently stayed in a garden view room (2088) and had a view of the YC quit pool. It was a pretty view, but we of course could not see the fireworks testing that was going on at Epcot every single night we were there,

I have a 2 bedroom suite booked at the BC from 8/29 through 9/1 but I heard that Disney is moving some people out of suites and into standard rooms or moving them to a different resort because CL isn't open. Has anyone stayed at BC in a suite recently? This will probably be our last Disney trip and I wanted to make it extra special. I'm sad that CL isn't available but still wanted to stay in the suite.

I have not personally seen any reports of people being moved from suites, FWIW. CL of course isn’t available, but the suites themselves are. I had a recent suite stay at YC with no issues.
