Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

This May Be The LAST Place You’d Look For a Disney Souvenir!

Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you can take home one of the most unique Disney souvenirs during the Paint Your Disney Story activity. Located in the new Enchanted Rose Lounge on the second floor of the main hotel building, guests can meet Cast Members in Belle’s Library to paint their own ceramic storybook box and “create your own Disney story.”

I tried searching and the most current information I can find is this post and that article. Is this still available to do? I'd like to add it to my plans for Sept if it is.

I apologize, I’m not sure. I didn’t stay there this trip and I won’t be back at The Grand until after you leave, so I can’t even check for you. Maybe if someone will be there soon, they can look into it. Sorry I can’t help further.

I arrive on Thursday! Can anyone explain what the White Rabbit Pocket Watch Hunt activity is?
The activity staff at the feature pool will hide three large “pocket watches” (looked like cardboard) within the pool area. The kids search for them, and each kid who finds a pocket watch gets a small prize. It’s a cute activity. My daughter participated when we stayed recently but didn’t find any of the pocket watches.

Yes, it’s available! We were there end of June and considered doing it. It sounds like fun!

Here’s an activities schedule from when we stayed June 26-July 1.

Edit: not sure why the photo was there twice. I removed the duplicate.

I have done some searches, but couldn't find what I'm looking for, so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered.

We're arriving on the 17th for a 1 week stay at the GF. At what time do the buses start running to the various parks? Are they crowded when they arrive? Or is the GF the first pick up? Finally, does anyone know if there is a bus from the GF to the transportation center? I have a rental on Thursday.

Thanks for any help

Awesome! Thank you so much for the pic as the times have changed slightly. Now I need to come up with a design idea :)

If u call and ask about availability, will cast members see the same thing your seeing? I currently have a reservation for main building king deluxe, but i just need a standard room in the main building. I've been checking periodically and haven't seen it pop up for my stay dates.

The GF bus doesn’t share with another resort so when it arrives you are good :). Buses run about an hour before park openings. We were there two weeks ago and didn’t have any issue getting on the first bus of the day. HS was most crowded line but still fine. No bus to TTC…take the monorail.

Although just wanted to note, normally Poly and GF share buses most of the time, other than morning rush, they just haven’t since reopening. TBD if the normal sharing arrangement eventually returns (my guess is it will at some point). Although selfishly it sure has been nice with the current setup, saves a few minutes for everyone.

General consensus in my time around these boards has been that they see the same availability as we can see online.

Hope something comes up for you!

This seems like a rather hearty list of activities - that’s great to see. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you both for the information.

Thanks again for the information. I think I may have used the wrong terminology. I need to get to the Car Care Center to pick up a rental. I just did a little more searching and it seems (per the WDW website) that I can arrange a shuttle from the GF to the Car Care Center.

Yes we have done that. Ask in the lobby. I think they called for us or gave dh the number to call. It also works for reverse. You drop off your car and they shuttle you back .

Thank you. I am considering a GF Royal Palm CL stay in 2022 and was wondering about the difference in price between theme park view and standard. There is a $245 difference for view alone with both being CL.
I prefer the non tpv. I like being closer to the lounge. I also often stay at Poly and Cr which have a better tpv.

However if you will be in your room quite a bit and or plan on watching the HEA from your room it is awesome with the sound track played right below you at Gaspies.

With recent reports of large crowds at the parks, we're definitely glad we booked a cabana for 2 days in August. I have a question about checking in for the cabanas, on one of those days, I snagged a Chef Mickey's breakfast for 9:20 so obviously won't make back to check in 15 minutes before 10am. Would that be okay? Do they just give you that time as the earliest point that you can check in if you want?
