Do you workout on vacation?

I work out very regularly while not on vacation, including when I travel for work. I work out about six days a week and my work outs are split between weights and cardio.

Most of our vacations involve overseas travel and we do a lot of farm stays and non hotel types of stays at places that do not have gyms. However, many of these vacations are active and involving hiking, sight seeing and being out and about and moving anyway, so I generally do not feel too guilty. And while I may not run, we do take long early morning walks too when possible since we are early risers anyway.

At least for me, I am fairly disciplined the rest of the time, so a break from the formal workout routine every once in awhile is probably good. I am at the point when I probably need a recovery week soon even without a vacation.

We do a lot of walking on vacation so no formal workouts. Even if we didn’t probably not. Exercise is important to me but so is giving myself a break.

I always bring workout clothes, and have good intentions, but especially at Disney, all the walking takes its toll on the body and I end up not using the gym at the hotel.

Depends on the day. If I have hiking planned, for instance, I’ll skip the gym that day. If I’m planning a pool day, I hit the gym in the morning. I do make sure I’m physically active every day.

I might try the fitness room briefly if the hotel has one, but generally not.

We often takes walks, rent bikes, etc. while on vacation.

Most of our vacations involve a lot of walking so we figure that's enough exercise. We tend to rent a place to stay that's within a mile of a downtown area, so once we park our car when we arrive we plan to walk everywhere we can.

At WDW, some weightlifting a couple times. That vacation has so much walking, I count that as cardio. We're going to the beach next week, so I'll definitely fit in some cardio and weights in the mornings.

No, I generally don't like to waste my time on vacation exercising. For me, it's a good 2 hour commitment between the actual workout and the required shower/hairdrying afterwards. I never have a "free" 2 hours during vacations. We are busy doing other stuff. The only time I might consider it is if we are otherwise stuck in the room due to weather or something. We were once sort of trapped in our room at Grand Floridian during a 4 hour torrential rainstorm, and had the gym not been a long walk OUTDOORS, I would have worked out during that time. That was one of those times I regretted our resort choice, because we got hungry and didn't feel like waking outside to get to the quick serve place either. 🙃

I do strength training with a personal trainer 3 days a week when I'm not on vacation. To me, vacations are for total relaxation regardless of the destination.. Missing a week or two of workouts is not going to set me back -- I'm not a competitive athlete.

My husband has to travel for business and I occasionally travel with him. Since I'm alone all day during those trips, I do pack some workout clothes and occasionally use the gym.

I don’t work out in the gym but our vacations are active. We hike for hours, go dancing half the night, etc so I actually always lose weight after vacation.

I try to walk at least 30 minutes per day yes. I am likely to pick up a lot more active minutes and exercise while on vacation.

On the actual days that I am in transit, I will likely fail to meet my physical activity goals.
