What's one place you have been to which you would never go back to?

That is not the experience I have had in multiple trips to France. The French are proud of their country/city and for the most part seem to enjoy helping tourists, even the dumb Americans.

Me either.

I won't go back to Amsterdam. Had to walk around a mountain of trash to get from cab to our hotel. It was trash day and this was bigger than a small RV. Ok..fine. Just not a great start but when the guy sitting on the same bench started throwing up into the curb? Done. At that time they routinely came through and hosed down the streets at night. I apologize to anyone who is from or lives in Amsterdam but that was definitely a first for me.

Bakersfield, CA - boring as heck, ugly, weather sucks, smog

San Francisco - too much crime, too much human poo & used needles on the streets, too expensive, traffic sucks, elitist snobs who are way too impressed with their Tesla's.

Portland, OR - weather sucks + reasons that would get me points and a time out

Seattle, WA - weather sucks + reasons that would get me points and a time out

The Soldiers', Sailors', Marines', Coast Guard & Airmen's Club?
YEP loved that place from spring of 1982 to nov of 1984....it was a real dump, had that myserty / gothic novel atmosphere. I was a college grad secondary teacher, carter recession so join the army and had a plum assignment at USMA, so caught the train across the river and traveled into NYC.....$8.00 a night at the club....best bargin in my entire life, library was an old MS HABERSHAM environment. would get food from the korean fruit markets and eat on th massive desk that over looked all of Lexington. thank you for researching the address. 😊😊😊😊😊😊

I knew there was a good story behind that address. Years ago (starting in 1983), I had a boyfriend who lived near that address. Maybe we passed each other in the street or in a market:wave:

Barcelona.

I was quite the hit at a big soccer game in Texas between a Mexican team and a Barcelona soccer team. I started a chant using a perfect Castilian lisp, "Barthelona thucks."

Deadwood, SD

It was my last stop at the end of a recent trip with beautiful scenic drives, going to a mineral spa, swimming in a waterfall, some great hikes and staying at a super cool and relaxing Airbnb. What a terrible disappointment after all the lovely things I did. Crappy parking, smoking everywhere, open containers, one lame casino after another and the top-rated place I went for dinner was just awful. I couldn't even call it a poor man's Las Vegas; it was so much worse.
