First day using it. It's not the fantastic panacea that everybody has been saying it is. I got Thunder Mountain at noon. Can't get anything else booked until 11. 7 dwarves mine train would have cost me another 12 dollars per person to book. I'll give an update later what I think. I'm just putting this out there as a contrary opinion about Genie+

YMMV 😉

Someone said it is wonderful?

A lot of people agree it's absolutely orrible. And you are in the park where it is the most effective, imagine the others.
It's so bad that Disney now has changed the wording saying that most people just get 2 or 3 attractions. Instead of trying to make the product better they now say it's rubbish themselves, to adjust expectations.
My guess is that guests satisfaction surveys are plummeting.

I share the same sentiments as many others...I haven't seen nor heard many (or any) "wonderful" reviews. More about how to make the most of it since it's the new reality. Before it launched I thought it sounded promising, but that was before the LL and ILL components were layered in making the whole thing far less effective (for our way of travel) than previous options.

The part I really hated about the genie+ was the 7am stress. Why not atleast open it up the night before? I’d start the day tired and annoyed when the app would bug out for 20 minutes after I woke up early. Definitely preferred the fast pass where you could select 3 and plan well ahead. Once I paid for ROR, and selected the available time. I didn’t realize on confirmation screen that time has changed to during our dinner, so then had to spend over an hour waiting for support to help.

Pros and cons to G+, just like there were with FP+ and FP. Some haven't even used it yet and hate it, some have used it and hate it, others like it better than planning out your entire stay 2 months in advance. The results have been very mixed so far, as is often the case with changes forced upon the customer. We've had a chance to use it several times and are getting better at understanding it and using it. For us, it works well on some days, so we buy it. It doesn't work on other park days, so we don't buy it. It's an optional item.

Personally we have had good luck with it, but it did change the times we go and the way we do to the parks. I’ve gone into detail on other threads about this so won’t here. I get why some hate it. We enjoy it other than the part where we have to pay for it, but we have always felt like we’ve gotten our moneys worth out of it.

I liked giving away the passes when we left early. Little bit of magic passed around.
that's too funny ....we used to do that too....at first the recipients would look at you with trepidation but once they realized they were getting a free FP to Splash mountain they couldn't thank us enough....the happy faces made our day...bring that back Disney!

We were there in Dec. for 10 days & hated it - so much so that we had a discussion about not returning to WDW until it was gone & renting out our DVC points..
Up early, tech whiz son tries to grab 1st ride (same son who always successfully got us low boarding groups on ROTR) & promised time would change by several hours when you actually tried to book it. Then nothing worthwhile available as the day progressed. Worthless system IMO.
The only positive was that I could pay extra to book a few headliners - not that I’m a fan of pay per ride, but can easily afford to do so, thus we at least had a couple of favorites booked at times we preferred.
Bring back ticket books 😂
Or give everyone access to at least one guaranteed tier 1, 2 & 3 ride, so they know their $15 per day isn‘t wasted money, & maybe they could be booked ahead of time, so folks can schedule - like, um, FP+.
I wasn’t a fan of paper FPs - get up early for the running of the bulls to grab that piece of paper before they ran out only to be stuck behind someone grabbing a gazillion at the machines.

As a non-morning person one of the best feelings ever was after I had got up 60 days prior, booked our 3 late morning/afternoon/evening FPs per day, and could anticipate a nice, relaxing vacation knowing we could sleep late, roll into the parks, and still enjoy plenty of good rides. And it was FREE!

Literally nobody is saying that Genie+ is a fantastic panacea. Except maybe Bob Chapek.

But for us morning people, that system was horrible! :)

There's been a huge variety of opinions on each iteration over the years, maybe they should just get rid of all of them and go back to waiting in lines! LOL
