You can't drop one and get the other as Chase limits the bonus on any Sapphire card to once every 48 months. You can also only hold 1 Sapphire card at a time. What you can do is product change one card to the other after 1 year, ie CSR to CSP. You won't get the bonus for changing to the second card, but the points you already accrued stay with the account and you get all the other benefits of the second card.
Would I just call them and ask to change cards and transfer points?

If you downgrade a CSR to CSP (you have to wait a year after being approved) the points will stay on the account and automatically be on the CSP. You will have to call to product change. They have to read you the terms of the new card, let you know the new AF, etc. but it's an easy call. They will send you a new card but in the meantime the card will show in your account (with all your points) and the old card will work until the new one arrives.

Wonder if we'll find out how long this will last. I could do 6k but would like to wait a few weeks before I app to get the spend into Feb. If they'll approve me. Getting the hyatt biz gives me a little hope.
I hope it lasts until January. I just got the Aeroplan card to use the points for our flights back from our cruise and now I am 5/24. I will need to get a CIU to refill my UR's and I like the 6k spend better than 7.5k.

WWYD? I reallly want another CIC anyway, and the 90k SUB is just icing on the cake. I’ve currently got 2 CICs (1 downgraded from a CIP in august 2020, and one I applied for and got the SUB for in April 2021). I’ve also got a CIP (March 2022) and 2 SW Biz cards (October 2021 and January 2022). No Chase cards since March 2022, but a handful of random biz and personal cards since then (still under 5/24).

Would you close one of the CICs to increase your odds at approval, even though you could really use a 3rd CIC for another $25k at office supply stores? Or hang on to the 2 you’ve got and apply for a third?

Well, I was going to lay low with Chase but now that the 90K offer is publicly available I am rethinking that. (I looked at the Amex Biz Gold because I do spend a lot on gas and restaurants, but I cannot spend (well... pay off) $10K in three months so I think that's out for me.). And I like URs.

I currently have more CIC's than anyone I know of, so I will close at least one before applying.

Do you recommend I close a couple, or do you think it matters? Would I need to wait between closure and applying?

I have 2 CIC, 1 CIU and SW Biz (plus 5 personal cards). DH has 2 CIC and 2 CIU (& 3 personal cards). I think as long as your total credit extended by Chase is appropriate, you'll be fine getting another card without closing one.

Has anyone seen any offers for LL Bean? I try to avoid them because having to pay for shipping any returns, but I have a specific Christmas list request I need to fulfill.

I hope it stays a bit also. We still have $3k left on p2 $7500 msr.

To all those who dream of eating at Jiro's (Sukiyabashi ) in japan. I got a message from the concierge.
It's not like how @CaliforniaGirl09 or others described it in the past anymore. According to the concierge.
"
In regards to Sukiyabashi Jiro in Ginza (main shop), as this particular venue unfortunately is not included in our recommendations, please do make sure that you visit their official website to understand/confirm their policies/rules https://www.sushi-jiro.jp/dining-at-jiro/ . Their current price is a minimum of 55,000JPY-250,000 JPY per person and as you may know the whole experience would be about 20-25min (whole meal) and one is expected to eat what they are served (no sharing) and leave when the last serving is consumed. In addition, Jiro himself usually is not at the venue and details are not announced. As the venue does not take telephone calls, we will be sending in your request via FAX in early August for all dates/times of your stay with us and await their reply with only YES/NO answer and customers are assigned times (no time requests accepted).
Please let us know in around July if you still wish to try."

He then went on to ask me if I've been to 2 sushi places in NYC I actually have been to one of them foodie at heart. I guess if you wait too long to experience something it will change.

he also said if I wish to try he could arrange it but given how dramatically the experience has changed they can't recommend it anymore

Well first bday w/o my dad in the books. It was a hard day because he did always try to make my bday special. My mom, sister, kids and BF tried to do their best in his place. I think the hardest thing is that I really thought I'd have 15-20 more years. I know they say you'll never be ready and it'll never be enough time, but it still seems very surreal. Like I'll see him at my son's next game, etc.

We listed his trailer. It'll be interesting to see how that goes. I still have a few bigger items that I'm unsure of how to sell. He has a queen size tempurpedic adjustable bed that was only 3 mos old. Also he has my grandparents hope chest, as well as a china cabinet. From googling the chest could be worth about $350, and the china cabinet $1500. I have them both on market place, but I don't think that is the right place for them. And I've been waiting on the title for his car all month. I got the title to his trailer literally the next week. But his car is taking forever. I would love to unload his car esp since it's just sitting in my driveway costing me $90/mo insurance.

Good luck! This was my first ever biz card. We have 6 personal chase cards between my husband and I. I was kinda nervous they would not approve me because we have pretty high limits on most of them and I didn’t lower any of them beforehand. I plan to apply for the SW personal card in 30 days though so I may do that then, just to be safe. Or I may even cancel an old Slate card that I have. It doesn’t even earn cash back whatsoever so I don’t even use it. It just sits in the closet. 🤷🏼‍♀️
You could try to PC the slate to another card, like maybe the OG Freedom. I did that with my slate when I was blocked from getting any new chase cards.

Looong time lurker!
Hubs has ONE credit card on which I am an AU, 2005: AMEX Delta Skymiles Platinum

$10k balance on a $25k credit line
We ONLY put travel on this card (hotel, flights). We charge it up and pay it off annually at bonus time. Interest rate is stupid high. Have never asked for any sort of retention/change. We like it for the annual Delta companion certificate and points.

Hubs has retired in last year. My income has tripled since 2005. We also have significant 1099 income & FEIN # for business.

In November, I want to buy a ticket to a film festival that has early bird access for Citi card holders. In January, I will have my first year of DVC dues on my contract. My goal for a card(s) is to maximize points for travel and/or travel discounts, both WDW/DL and international. We fly Delta primarily, but also Southwest. Use Delta FF points but just recently enrolled for SW points. I am receiving multiple personal & business card offers in postal mail each week.

Help, I need a plan!
Any "perks" you have from the Delta Plat card are gone w/ that large of a balance! You realize that the "free" companion pass is likely more than buying a ticket when you factor in the AF and interest, right?

Rule #1 of travel/credit card hacking is carry NO BALANCE! I mean, unless you've got a card w/ a 0% offer. Any and all rewards you are earning are wiped out and then some by fees and interest. So before you jump into getting new cards for your DVC and other upcoming expenses, I would make sure you are someone who can get into the habit of paying everything off monthly. If you can't you're really just paying for all your "free" travel via fees/interest. My ex is the person who can't play the game right. He is carrying a bunch of CC debt because he sees credit cards as "free" money. It's sad he's a CPA too! And I made the huge mistake of trusting him to do our finances for 22 years. I'm somehow able to afford the lifestyle we had married minus his $100k. And when we had his $100k we were often paycheck to paycheck. I am slowly trying to teach my kids this "game" I play as they know our travel is thanks to this. I want them to know how to use credit cards the right way.

If you are on their mailing list, you will get notified of their 10% off weekends which come around every couple months or so. There was one at the beginning of Sept and another mid October so not sure we are due another one yet.

Also, around Thanksgiving they will often run a 'Spend $50, get a $10 coupon for next purchase'. Can be useful if you have a list of things to buy, as you can usually use the coupon the next day.

Ok thank you. Can you remind me what percentage of household income Chase deems 'appropriate'? And does Chase check credit limits a person has with other issuers also, or only what a person has with Chase?

I just double checked and while my Chase credit limit is well under half of my personal income (not even counting my husband's income), it would not be the same thing if they consider all other issuers.

so I couldn't find this on the web anywhere finally got my Global entry renewed the date online is 6 years from now do I need a new physical card? do they send it to me?

Chase looks at your CLs with them…usually 50% of household income or around $75,000 whichever is lower
