DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

So what are you guys watching lately? Anything good? I find I'm going out to the movies less and less and finding more to entertain me on streaming services.

The shows on Apple TV+ seem to have a high hit rate for me: Ted Lasso, Severance, Slow Horses, The Afterparty, and Shrinking have all been really enjoyable.

I don't have Apple TV, so that's out for me. I have Disney and will start watching season 3 of The Mandelorian soon. I have Netflix but maybe will cancel it. I haven't been on it in at least half a year. I do most of my watching on Prime. Right now watching Survivor (with an add on package) and a show called Poker Face (I think in the US it's not on Prime, though). It's about a woman who always knows when people are lying and finds herself involved in murders while being on the run from the mob. Lighthearted and fun.

I've heard great things about Poker Face. It's on Peacock (NBC's service) here, which I don't have, so I haven't been able to watch it. Crazy trying to keep up with all the different streaming services--you're bound to miss out on something. Maybe when I can't find anything on one service I'll cancel it and try Peacock out.

I can't remember the last really good thing I watched on Netflix. Mostly I check out movies there. I do like Stranger Things a lot, and I enjoyed Squid Game too.

DW just won free movies for year (52 admit 1 certificates) so I see more movies in our future.

Been watching Ted Lasso (thanks to a Plex server) and Pennyworth.

Use more than the tip…
:lmao:

Too many services... let's go back to when there were only 4 channels!

Only watched the 1st season of Things. Liked Squid Game though

Sounds painful(ly arid)

Nice score! Congrats!

@dvczerfs I’m sitting at a Caribbean beach quiet pool under the skyliner. I’ve Noticed that it keeps slowing down every few minutes and I’ve noticed it doing that as well when we have ridden it. Why does it do that? I know they pull the cards aside to load scooters. Wasn’t sure if it’s when they rejoin the cable or what.

The staff do that to see guests' reactions. Then they giggle.
I liked Wednesday…
Oh, right! Keep meaning to watch that.

Fairly subjective question, there.
We (meaning - "I" - 'cause the missus watches a whole lot o' telle') generally like mysteries and who-done-it type of things. There are a fair number of those on some of the Brit Import channels and some times on PBS. Not much of it coming out of the U.S.

Pretty much everyone talks about those, but we don't do Apple, so as far as we know, they don't exist.
Not the first socially acclaimed series that I never watched, and I'm sure it won't be last either.

and a show called Poker Face
That sounds somewhat interesting, but as you noted, it's not on Prime down this way, so it's just something else I'm not allowed to watch (but I'll keep an eye out for it in case that changes).

Now that one, we can get to. I'm also waiting a bit before starting on it though. We have enjoyed watching two or three episodes at a crack in the past and I'd prefer to be able to do that with Season-3 as well.

Well played sir.
Well played.

Well, it's raining here (again), so not an issue.

Cool...
Hopefully there will be enough films released that y'all actually want to see to make it worth the time.

I know me...
If there were only four, I'd likely sill not watch anything on three of 'em.

That was like a re-boot or a spinoff of Addams Family, right?

I could see Zerfs doing that in particular.

It's impossible to keep up with everything.

On Prime, I enjoyed Jack Ryan. And a friend tipped me to the show Patriot, which is very quirky and offbeat but I found myself having fun. It has maybe the best cold opening to a TV show I've ever seen.

Otherwise, Bosch was a perfectly cromulent cop show.

I watch all these when I'm working out on the elliptical. I need something to keep my brain occupied.

Mandalorian is still a fun watch. It feels like a Star Wars western. Andor was good, too, although I don't think I loved it as much as everybody else did.

I live in Florida, it’s more entertaining than any tv series. Lol

I was sitting in the food court at CB, I didn’t know you were here.
To answer your question, it slows down for a few reasons, mostly because you only have so much time to enter and exit a cabin. Some people for what ever reason take more time. They ask questions like, where does this go after they have been seated is a popular one. You were also sitting under the “Epcot “ line. That line serves the Riviera resort which does not have WAV (wave) stations. The scooters are unloaded on the move which a full and complete slowdown is required. The only time for the most part the system slows it down is because of wind, all the other slows are guest safety related.
Stopping, 99.9 percent of stops are guest safety related. A lot of times guest exit the cabin and stop for numerous reasons, mostly they are attempting to help the other people in the party out of the cabin. There is a yellow safety line you must cross when you exit, you don’t cross it and the operator will hit the stop. It’s slower than an escalator, just simply step out like you’re walking. They usually will stand in front of the operator, you know, the only one that can stop the cabin if something is wrong. I guess people think they are going to hold back a multi ton, steel, hydraulic system drive by huge horse power motors. Lol
But, it is a laugh a minute. You meet, even if it’s only for a brief moment people from all walks of life. It’s a great place to work and something I always wanted to do since I was 8. The only regret is I didn’t do this earlier in life. I get to do what most people don’t get to do, smile everyday I pull into my job’s parking lot.
Oh I could tell you stories for hours. Lol Every day I mutter to my self, “ just when you think you’ve seen it all. “ lol
