I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

If DH would do a PC of his CSP to a freedom card he would have only CICs and a CIU with Chase. Would he be able to continue to transfer UR to me?- and would he be able to transfer UR to transfer partners, mainly SW and Hyatt?

He could transfer UR points to you with any UR earning card. He would need a CSP, CSR, or CIP to transfer to travel partners.

How do I use Priority Pass restaurant benefit through CSR? Do I present CSR or PP card or both? Any feedback on either of the DEN locations, Mercantile Dining or Sweetwater Mountain Taphouse?

Hoping Capital One lounge in DEN is open soon...

I know there are a lot of checking bonuses out there. I've never tried one, but was wondering if there are any decent savings bonuses anyone can recommend. Chase has a higher interest rate than our current credit union one and I wouldn't mind finding another way to generate some points.

Are these work charges that he gets reimbursed for? If the charges are for travel and dining out then the CSP makes sense to me. But for non-bonus categories, because of the CP I would put spend on the SW card since you're getting "twice" the rewards on that, as well as that spending going toward qualifying for the next CP. I value 1RR at 1.3 cents, so with the CP each RR to me is worth 2.6 cents. To me a Bonvoy point is less than a cent, more like 0.6 cpp.
Yes. Charges are hotel/air/meals. So it sounds like use CSP for places where it will earn a multiplier. If they're just at x1 anyhow, put them on SW to earn towards next CP. Is that your suggestion? Thanks for the help!

Yep that’s my suggestion, and it sounds like that’s the way you were leaning anyhow. That’s awesome that your DH can get reimbursed like that!

So skip using the Marriott? I have a CSP but we were waiting for him to open one. We have a Companion on Southwest so it sounds like he should maybe use that one or my CSP.
CSP for Bonus categories, non category spend, anything is better than the Marriot. One, I hate Bonvoy with a passion, but beyond that Bonvoy points are worth, maybe .5 cpp. SW is pretty consistent at 1.6 and I can get outsize value with UR points at Hyatt and occasionally United.

I have been checking the Hyatt website every day for the past few weeks hoping that a room on points would open up in January for me at the Tokyo Station Hotel (same hotel that @fan is staying at) and today was the day :yay::yay:. I am so glad that points opened up because I was willing to pay cash (gasp). Got value of $0.024, which I consider excellent.

Now I have decide if I want to fly from Bangkok to Tokyo (was able to get a first class seat on Japan Air using AA points a few weeks ago -- overnight flight, 5.5 hours) or fly to Singapore. I'd spend 3 nights in Singapore, then fly (on Singapore Air - AP pts) to Tokyo. The issue is I wasn't able to book the flight home on the same ticket (as the flight to Tokyo) and I'd only have 2.5 hours to land, clear customs, then get myself checked-in, through security and to the gate for my first class flight on ANA to Chicago (booked using AP pts), then home. From what I've read 2.5 hours isn't enough and I don't want the stress. Thus booking the flight from Bangkok to Tokyo, where I can easily spend 3 days, then catch my flight home. Plus I'd get to fly Japan Air first class. I am heavily leaning towards spending 3 days in Tokyo. Now that I have the amazing Tokyo Station Hotel booked on points I am fairly certain that I'll be in Japan in January! Yay!

Not sure if anyone else looked closely at an e-mail sent recently from Amex Platinum. Now if you link your membership rewards to Rakutan you can get paid with rewards points instead of cash. Interesting and possibly a bigger bonus for those who value the points at more than $0.01 each.

Thanks for posting this. Since P1 and P2 both have Amex Plats, but only one Rakuten acct, I signed the other one of us up for Rakuten and will get the 3k bonus MRs (I think I have to track $25 in 90 days or something).

OMG OMG OMG.....I saw an email from Thrifty Traveler today that there were flights available from PHL over SPD next year. So I quickly just checked and omg, there were 2 seats! So I checked CLE, nope. I checked ORD, nope. So I said screw it and booked them. I got an error as I "paid". No email...but my CC shows the charge. UGH. So I went back in and the 2 seats were still listed. So I said screw it, and tried again. It went through and this time I got a confirmation and an email. My Chase card shows 2 charges though for $600 (the taxes are more...UGH, but what can I do). So I guess I'll wait and see if one drops. If not, when I call I may argue that I was booking for my mom and see if we can get them to release one more seat ;) Right now I just have my daughter and I booked. We need my mom to get a biz class seat too. Though I do think she'd be down for flying economy if needed.

But I have tickets!!!! Now I guess I'll watch and see if anything for CLE ever opens up or ORD.

I know I’ve posted about this previously, but if you’re looking for Disneyland tickets (not World unfortunately), they are available in the Chase portal for points.
The problem is that they’re listed as more money on the portal than on the direct website (about $300 more for our 3 day park hoppers with Genie +).
Universal on both coasts also has tickets available for what it’s worth.

Good morning and Happy Saturday, everyone.

I know it was a terrible use of Chase URs but I was in desperate need of a new computer with no way to pay for it... so I redeemed a bunch of URs through the Chase Apple Store (or whatever the partnership is called). It took MUCH longer to ship than anticipated ( I think I ordered it on April 6 and it finally shipped on the 22nd or something) and I would never do it again but there was a need so... I guess I really can't complain. My first time owning a Mac instead of a PC so there is definitely a learning curve there.

I have my work trip to Sacramento coming up Monday- even though I don't get the spending points since I have to use my work card, I did get to make the reservations under my Southwest and Marriot accounts, so at least I'll get 'credit' for the stay and the flights under those accounts. I will report back if I find that I got 'credit' for all four rooms I booked under my name, or just the one I personally occupied.

I purchased EBCI on my own for the flights so I hope it makes it worth it. I prefer a window seat (always!) and I don't mind sitting in my seat for awhile while everyone else loads.

Wanting to add the 16 year old as an AU on one of my no-fee cards (the Chase Freedom isn't an option because my other son still uses that) so I am thinking I'll do the Quicksilver because it's not about earning rewards- it's just to build his credit.

Got an email offer for the Citi AA Mastercard, which I have had in the past but closed it on 7/8/21 so not quite two years ago. Does anyone know if it's likely they'd approve me? And, are AA miles harder to use these days? I don't fly much but we did find use for the miles to take a couple of quick flights to Southern California.

So our plan is to fly into DC the day before we fly to Germany. The hotel we’re staying at has a pool and I’m sure ds will ask to swim. Idk if we should try drying our suits in the hotel dryer before flying or what we should do. Any ideas?
