BWV refurb is in full swing.

Less exciting than room pics, but a few from the hallway. New carpet, paint, light fixtures. Hall was partially open to maybe a dozen rooms at least on floors 2 and 4.

very nice! but are the doors the same color?
thank you for the pics😊

The doors are very similar in color. Maybe slightly lighter. The new area is much brighter than the old maybe a combination of better lighting and the lighter color walls.

The hall carpeting has a bit of the boardwalk feel to it, I like that. Does anyone remember the original carpet? It was like a real boardwalk; I was sorry to see it go.

Is this the end of the hall that's all studios?

Oh yes we do, and the wall was painted with fencing and flowers, and you felt like you were walking the boardwalk to get to your room. I'm so sorry they didn't keep that - the new carpet isn't even close to giving that impression. I wish I had a photo, but of course we never thought to take photos of the hallway!

Here's the picket fence.
Flowers on the carpet.
(I think this picture was taken as they were starting the 1st "full" refurb and the carpet was pretty worn.)

I don't think I saw it with the original boardwalk carpet.

that's so charming

Just checked out of a standard 1BR. It was at the very end of a hall and will I suspect be among the last renovated. The big blast from the past was the heating/cooling system, which was still the old manual control with a heat-off-cool switch and an up-down slider switch to “set” the temperature.

I hope that not only are they getting rid of those old thermostats, but also the motion sensors that turn the AC off at night while we sleep! Without the ceiling fans, it would be miserable!

I've not encountered those motion sensors anywhere for a long time. I thought Disney gave up on them as they also weren't actually good for maintaining the rooms. Too much humidity build up when unoccupied.
Definitely haven't had it at BWV. Doesn't work with those old thermostats was my belief. I can get it nice and chill there!

One thing I'll say about the new rooms, they didn't sound proof them at all. It's like we are in the room next door with everyone laughing and the TV. For a deluxe hotel it sounds like a best Western. So loud
Are you in a connecting or dedicated room? If connecting most of the sound is likely thru the door. Sometimes there's even a bit of a gap at the bottom and placing a towel there helps.

Were in a new studio for the week. Overall the rooms look very nice and feel spacious. The overall look is an upgrade and while at first the storage seemed poor the drawers are actually quite deep for fitting clothes. The new thermostats are also a nice upgrade as are the Murphy beds. The kids like the new artwork in the rooms. The hallways are much brighter and feel bigger due to that. We have not had the issue with noise coming from the room next to us that was mentioned above.

One negative is the lack of any freezer space. Even though its a studio a small freezer area would be nice. Im not sure how much they really tested a few things during install. The bathroom door doesnt catch the latch unless you really pull hard on it. The bathtub drain doesnt seal fully if you want to take a bath. Hopefully those last two things are specific to this one room.

Overall I think most people will really like these new rooms unless they miss the old table and chairs design from the old studios
